The coin under discussion today is a 1940 p Lincoln penny. I am a little confused by the appearance of the obverse error on this coin. I want to call it a doubled die, but it is a strange looking one. I want to say it is a rpm, but I know it is not that either. I looked at Variety Vista and at Wexler's Double Die for some answers and found none. So right now I am baffled by what I see. I have not seen a coin quite like this one. The coin is very worn on the reverse side, and worn somewhat on the obverse side too, but not as bad as the reverse. I do not think the coin has much value because of it's worn condition. Still I am thankful to have it in my collection. I think it is a great talk piece even in it's deteriorated state.

That is an awesome coin Grapevine
Thanks for watching the video.
I looked for the 1 or 9 and saw nothing to suggest they ever being there. That's a pretty wild find you got there. Ghost year maybe?
Hi Stax! I wish the coin was in better condition, but some coins you find and they are great, and sometimes they are not so great. This one of those not so great finds.
... wish it had been in better condition!
Me too!
