The discussion this time is on a Slabbed 1960 p Small Date Lincoln Cent. Slabbed Coins are a collectors gem in a collection, and you can have many of them. Raw coins in a flip are great, but even better is a coin that has been certified by a Third Party Grader be to authentic. It is really great when the coin has been given a high MS grade. The value of a authenticated coin increases dramatically in most cases and can sell for hundreds if not thousands of dollars. The coin being discussed now is a fairly high MS graded lincoln cent, and it does have some value at only a MS 66+ grade. You can buy coins already graded and slabbed, or send your coins off for grading taking a chance on what grade they come back to you at. It all depends on you looking at the coin and seeing if it could be a gem worth taking a chance on sending it off for grading. I have sent coins off and got disappointed when they came back with a low grade. That's the chance you take when sending your coins in for grading. The cost for grading and what will the grade be. All collectors face this chance so be careful to send only the best looking coins in to be graded.

Being able to identify MS quality coins could be pretty lucrative if you knew where to find them. I'm guessing that it wouldn't be likely to find one in an everyday transaction.

Hi Stax! Most of us can only guess what might be a top MS coin, and if we sent it to a third party grading company we might be very disappointed when it was returned with a grade far less than what we wanted. It's happened to me.
