Vanilla was about being on a TEAM .. and and working with not against each other, vanilla was not about the MIN MAX .. and its SO sad seeing what blizzard is doing to the Vanilla versions of BFD, Gnome, and the other content that got destroyed ,when the community wants to cleanse the ash bringer.. deamon fall ridge is using mobs from fellfire hill

There are some giant snake remains you can find in the waters off the coast of Stranglethorn Vale, at least in the Classic version of the game, idk if it got removed with Cataclysm, so very massive snakes are certainly tied to trolls. I would bet though that if they'd made Gundrak a raid that snake would've been one of the bosses

I never knew about the desert bit near Old Outland, I wonder if they used a recolored version of Tanaris to get an idea of how to sculpt the also somewhat desert-y and desolate Hellfire Peninsula.

Playing SOD just reminds me of how much the world of World of Warfcraft was forgotten about by the developers. It's insanely disappointing. Centaur, Dryad, Quillboar, and Fulrbolg content was suppose to be much more. But they got big headed about everything that didn't have to do with Azeroth.

So, in Classic 2019, priests found out there were certain parts of the side hills you could stand on and reach the ghosts to heal them even if you weren't the one doing the challenge and it wouldn't fail the person doing it. All you had to do was have the Eye of Divinity equipped. At first, this was frowned upon, but it eventually became a beautiful display of community on my server. It became a ritual of sorts. You would do your challenge, with the help of others, but wait until your next raid day to complete Benediction. That way, you kept the Eye of Divinity until then. Until that day, you would check in EPL chat to see if anyone needed help doing the challenge, and would go help them. I met a lot of cool players that way, and it's what I always think of when people talk about "Vanilla WoW Community."

Hayven, we miss you old mate. I've long moved on from WoW but the people I met along the way, wherever they are and whoever they are, are all missed including you.
