- Today we explore the scourge necropolis Zeramas in Zul'drak. It serves no other purpose than being a there as decoration, but there is a huge sealed off area within just waiting to be explored. Enjoy!

3 years late, but we should have retaken Naxxramus since it wasn't in use any more
Man, I wish Death Knights got a bigger and better looking necropolis like this as their class hall in Legion. Instead, it's the same 10 year old Acherus, the smallest and most unimpressive necropolis the Scourge ever created.

my guild actually uses the upper floor of zeramas as our home base, it is an abandoned scourge necropolis, it is perfect

im pretty sure, everything in wow has its purpose. Most likely, this was also going to be part of the questing and got scrapped due to time restrains... But that makes me wonder.. what WAS the purpose of this area ? what is it that we missed ? we will never know.. and that gives me a scent of wonder and mistery. I love it.

Well the Scourge architecture was mainly influenced from the Nerubian structures, so it can be very beautiful, however this place is perfect for a hideout in case of another humiliating defeat in Gilneas.
Speaking of Necropolis, Kel'thuzard was defeated but his story wasn't finished. Things like his spellbook or remains were left behind and untouched, as if blizzard wanted to revive him in the future.
Seeing as Gul'dan released illidan and the Ner'zhul can only be sealed by bovar for so long, I wouldn't put it past them to somehow have someone powerful revive kel'thuzard again to find the secrets of the lich king and release him.
The fact kil'jaedin made the lich king, we could easily see him walking to northrend, release the lich king and in turn, kel'thuzard being freed. Or possibly kelthuzards remains being used to forge a new frostmorne? There's a lot to be done there.
Unlike illidan or deathwing, the lich king isn't done, just forgotten.

The Scourge actually took inspiration from the Nerubian architecture. Nerubian architecture is beautiful then.

I wouldn't call the center of the second floor a arena. I think it's more a arrival zone, the green glowing thing being the receiver (and probably a sender as well) of a Teleporter. The round structure of the Staircase and the Crystalthings might come from the overall radiary symmetric design of the Necropolis.

This is used for a questline from a drop from the trolls near Ebon Watch where you help the Ebon Blade infiltrate Zeramus by disguising as a scourge and eventually killing the troll guy.
By troll guy I mean Drakaru ( I don't know if that's how to spell it )

nice video as always but what has been bugging me is what set are you using. I've been wanting it to use in my guild.
I did this in Dalaran yesterday after the update. I did not take the portal as i had not read that part of the quest so i just flew over and i saw it up in the sky and tried to fly to it. Once i got close enough it disapeared from above so i tried to go from below and it glitched me into the sewers. Once inside i could not get out as all the exits were gated off. I kept running around and eventually it ported me to the top. I was not intending to get in there i just wanted to get to Dalaran.
... Well, I know where self proclaimed Lich Queen Vex Rivensoul is moving to. xD

Aren't all the Scourge Necropoli laid out the same? Including Acherus: The Ebon Hold? I mean, this is neat and all, don't get me wrong... but if all the Necropoli share the same layout...
(Granted, as you said, Zeramus is *completely* devoid if anything, so it's a perfect RP spot.)
There are i think 3 different layouts of Necropolis, 4 if you count the crashed one and 5 if you count naxxramas

Necropoli is the plural of 'necropolis', is it not? Nice video either way!
This was most likely a part of one of the questlines and it was cut out during development because of the detail inside. Like most likely a ritual or something was going to happen here. Sounds like something that would have been taken out of a questline late in development.
They should open this area up. It doesn't hurt the game at all. Give the RP players recycled content. Blizzard loves recycling. :P

But why did they do it?
I guess they either just copy pasted the model of kolramas, or the art department created the more or less fully functional Necropolis.
But the Content that could have been there was probably scratched without removing the thing, leaving it there as a decorative peace.
