- Hayven passed away on the 18th of Mars 2017, 26 years old.
He was an inspiration to many and someone who cared immensely about his fans and community.
Hayven had fought epithelioid sarcoma, a rare and severe form of cancer that usually affects teenagers and young adults.
You will always be missed Hayven, and although you lost to cancer, you have forever won our hearts.

Hey Hayven, feels like it's been forever. Just writing this because a pretty exciting season is coming to classic wow, a lot of the unfinished stuff might be added! Know you would've enjoyed it and everyone would've enjoyed seeing you cover it all. It's still hard to write all this but thank you for all the hard work you did in everyone of your videos. Not a day goes by where I don't wish you were still here, you are dearly missed and nothing can replace that hole left in our hearts. You will always be remembered and loved Hayven.

Hey Hayven. It's been 5 years now, and still no one has been able to fill your shoes and make content like you did, entertaining us all with countless hours of WoW secrets & exploration / alpha / behind the scenes footage in such a way only you were able to do. The lore is in a rough patch, and I know you would have had a thing or two to say about that lol. Given the state of Shadowlands, I could only imagine how much cut content they had to do, it probably would rival Warlords of Draenor and I wish you were here to investigate and present us with all that sweet alpha footage.
Anyways, the next expansion will be announced soon, but who knows if it'll even be out by this time next year. Hopefully next year I'll be able to come back and tell you how awesome it is!

@@rhun3879 nah man, he in the emerald dream, he cant fully die because his content still lives on and still gets enjoyed by thousands of people, he might not be here today but the legacy he has left in datamining will never go away, his life mightve been cut short but its not about the span of ones life but the quality of the life they choose to lead.
I feel this strongly. I always held onto Hayven as a source of entertainment and humor. Helped in dark times and the lonely times. I still think of our dear friend. After being diagnosed myself with rough disorders, going back still makes me warm. As I am sure others feel this way too. Thank you friends one and all.

Each time I do I have tears coming.
I've hit this video about that many times too. I've been watching his videos for quite some time, but you never expect to watch a CZcamsr's epitaph video, much less it being for a fellow WoW player too. But here it is. It's a somber experience. And a reminder to appreciate my time on this earth that much more.
And the comments section serves as somewhat of a memorial to him as well. I had no idea that Hayven had touched so many people's lives. It's a confirmation of that cool calmness we got to hear in his voice. Through them, we got to learn that he lived how he sounded.
But on that point... I find it hard watching his other videos now... knowing we'll never get to hear anything else from him again. And the song he used on his videos, 'Silent Partner - Yard Sale'... I always thought it invoked a spirit of a final farewell... but now it really does, and invokes some major sadness when I hear it.
Didn't expect losing someone you've never met would hurt this much. Rest well.

I only found out about his passing 30 minutes ago from people paying respect on a random music video, but here I am actually crying. Perhaps it just reminds me of a similar situation with my family.
But in all reality, he was a person who had a major injustice inflicted upon him, for which it cost his life, and there is no greater loss than the loss of a life😭

naw man he should be in the Lore walkers in MOP he should have a daily in dallaran where you have to find him somewhere in azeroth and when you do he shares with you the lore of the area.
I will submit this idea to Bliz in their 'suggestion' tab (which can be accessed in-game from the 'help' menu). Maybe if enough of us asked for it there Bliz will recognize how remarkable and well-loved he was.
World feels emptier without you and we will forever miss you. I'm glad you left a legacy for those of us who didn't physically meet you but somehow felt a connection through your videos. Those will always carry the essence of the amazing person you were.

I met his youtube channel recently, but he became my favourite wow content creator because of his unique personality. I never knew he had cancer, so this shit just hitted me hard.
Hell, he seemed like a nice guy as fuck, i liked a lot his videos because of that, and because he uploaded a really good content that had a hard effort background.
I'm crying now because of this. Even if this sounds ridiculous, because I would be the last person he could meet,I consider him a friend. I watched his videos when I was sad, when I had nothing to do, and his positive voice comforted me.

Hayven showed alot of what many of us never could see in game and really showed the community what the lores true purpose is in any story, which is to speculate and continue that story with our own imaginations using what was previously given. I was afraid when I hadn't seen a video all month that he may have taken a turn for the worst. RIP hayven. nobbel I could only dream that you'd do a tribute video to him.

It's odd, you passed around the same time I became cancer free. After going through my own treatment plans and figuring out what my options were month after month, I found your videos and became attached through the fact that we had cancer in common and that made me feel comfy and safe. Towards the end though, as I started seeing the cancer videos pop up more and more and that my treatment was looking more optimistic, I knew it couldn't be good news since more updates means that plans have to be changed because something isn't working. Then that fucking video where you told us you were changing you treatment plan again...you posted 3 videos after and every fucking day I waited for a 4th video, I fucking prayed and wished I would see another video from you...and then I did...this one. About 2 months after you passed I had my surgeries and effectively became cancer free. Until now I have refused to watch this knowing it wouldn't be you and I would not hear the familiar sound of your voice that came from someone I related to, and that it would fucking hurt...but I kind of already am. More hurt than I can handle right now and I think that's why I am here. I was hopeful back then, because of my situation, that things would get better for you man. It still makes me feel like shit that I survived and the cancer didn't re-emerge (fingers crossed it stays that way). But it is a very sobering feeling knowing I lived through something you have, and that millions more will die from, and I feel guilty about it...every fucking day. It really is depressing knowing it was god damn CHANCE left to nothing but fucking fate that I lived and had an operable form of cancer with a very low probability of coming back and you did not. I'm just sorry man, I'm sorry I'm here and you had to go through everything you did and fought hard until the end, you remained a productive member of society and kept going. JUST TO LOSE THE FIGHT, and if I could change it and give myself to rid the world of that fucking disease I would. You would have done something with your life and been here to inspire people. You were someone, YOU STILL ARE. I can't do anything with the life I was gifted, it just isn't isn't in the cards for me to be someone like who you were going to be, who can influence 1000's of people's lives in a positive way like I wish I could, just to be here for the 1000's that looked up to you. I don't know what I expected to gain from this, this is pretty much just a rant to blow off steam and to apologize to someone for something I didn't do, to someone who may never even get the message. But just please know that even with the life I have and everything else that happened after the cancer until now, I still look up to you and even though you didn't know me, I felt like somehow I knew you. I felt some weird link that made me see you as a friend and that and even though you died after your long battle, you fought until your last breath and you never gave up, and that makes YOU VICTORIOUS in my eyes. I come back to your vids but have always avoided watching this one because I knew I would fucking cry bro and I have been since about 2 sentences in. Rest in Peace, your channel is still alive to a lot of people. I still show people this stuff all the time, because it's all so awesome.

Hey - I read your comment and just wanted to say that it makes me feel sad to think that you had such a stroke of luck to survive cancer, yet still ended up feeling guilty and unhappy. It's not your fault that you didn't die, that you got to live, that Hayven died, and that you are unproductive right now.
You seem like a good person. You don't need to be "succesful" or "productive".
There is no justice to all of this. It's not that you got to live and therefor Hayven had to die, it really comes down to luck.
Plus, you don't know what you are capable of. You probably have a cool story to tell and a unique perspective on life due to your experiences that others don't. I know the guilt of "Some 4 year olds full of dreams and future die, yet here I am wasting my twenties", but that's not a healthy way to go through life.
Stay strong, and don't beat yourself up over something you had 0 control over. You're alive now, and you can do whatever you wish to do! You don't need to become a rolemodel or influencer. Being a good person is already massive in my eyes!

I just wanted to say, mad respect. Not alot of people have the guts to post on the internet what you did. Most decide it is better to suffer in silence, rather than subject themselves to potential bullying or harasment. In my book, that is already a victory for you.
Secondly: dont be too hard on yourself. It was a cruel twist of fate, not you, who caused this. I read through it all, and was teary-eyed through your entire story. I normally dont cry that quickly, so I can only tell you to forgive yourself. Cause I know for sure that Hayven would. He would've wanted you to live for him, make his memory worth something. Cling to every little moment of life you can, to the fullest and never let go. You earned it by being a survivor. And you owe it to him to forgive yourself.
Again, I salute you for your courage and have nothing but respect for you. I did not live through such a horrible situation. So I might not be able to ever fully relate. But if you ever need a listening ear.

Yeah it freaks me out too. Says Hayven posted 5 min ago, even though I know he's long gone. My husband passed 4 years ago and I still search crowds for his face, it's the same thing. But I click on the video anyway, even if I've seen it before and hearing Christer's voice makes me happy again.

Interesting, this beautiful outro music slowly changed over the years from being super light hearted to having sad connotations.
When he first anounced that he had this disease, I'd put the mobile down, and listened to this outro song in disbelief. And instead of the normal playfulnes of it, I've gotten sad feelings.

When i first saw the first patch and how we were going to Argus i was excited, but my excitement got tainted in sadness remembering how Hayven wanted to see this long forgotten Draenei land.
Everyday i do my dailies i truly stop to look around me and appreciate the game a bit more.

Hey Hayven!, you wouldn't believe this, but we FINALLY found a way back to GM island in Wrath of The Lich king classic, the entire Exploration Community had gathered up today, and raided the island, and had fun for a few hours, was really nice

The best Roleplayer we ever met. The best Guildmaster we ever had. The best Dungoen master any of us could possibly have asked for. You fought cancer, you kept on working, you were that guy who held an IRL social life and still managed to do tonnes on the game. You did write ups for all of our storylines and you never stopped. And yet, you were still doing youtube, right up until the very end. You just would not stop. It's inspirational. It was an honour to know you and to call you my friend. Thank you for everything, man. shit Defias Brotherhood: i would of seen him about then back when i was ally as i have played on that server from the start of wow i swapped to horde in cata as to go full pvp did he play before cata? if not i would of prob fight vs him in pvp if he did pvp that is.

First and foremost my thoughts are with Hayven's immediate family and friends.
Secondly my thoughts are with us the Hayven's community.
Hayven was one of the greats of Warcraft content creators. I am deeply saddened by the news of his loss that we will not get anymore great content he created, but at least his memory will live on through his videos on here. The sadness I feel can be nothing compared to his families grief and I wish them well and my again my thoughts through this difficult time.
Hayven's life should be celebrated at what he achieved even with such a rare illness. A credit that should be said anything is possible if your passionate enough.
RiP Hayven you will be forever missed but never forgotten.

He was one of the reasons I started to really explore legacy WoW and content creation in general. If I am ever 10% of the creator he was, I'd be ecstatic. RIP, and my condolences to his loved ones. Also, I sincerely thank whoever posted this video to let us know about his passing.

Someone with his 4 books he made about his favorite places in wow, should share it with us. Perhaps the game designers could pick a place or even a few places where we can see hayven games at his favorite spots in wow with him talking about the details. They could make it a quest to get us to explore the other and older parts of wow and appreciate the details of the places in game. it could have his character telling us a description of the places too while we visit them. i feel like this would be a gratifying tribute for him.

no i wouldnt appreciate a quest... ppl would rush through it and wouldnt even read the quest text just an unrelated npc with nice dialogue would be better in my eyes because so the fans can get to see him once in a while without idiots rushing through the quest to get some what ever it is
You can do both, that's the idea, for me at least. Set up the npc with the dialogue and then he offers you some quest and shows you the place, Dalaran for example, or something like that. Then you can maybe make him move between places, exploring and shit.
I hope they do something at least.

Sadly Blizzard only cares about money now. Hopefully when the top people are gone they will add a NPC of Hayven in the game. Im sure he would have loved classic WoW :(
@@kirklazarus1426 Do you have any idea when the last tribute NPC was added? It used to be a relatively common thing for Blizzard to do; I've been out of the loop since Cataclysm hit.
@@erikthered4929 the last one was added towards the end of legion/start of BFA. Look for the interactable grave in stormwind cemetary.
Blizzard still cares and still does this sort of thing. Sadly they havent done it for Hayven yet.
Connor notyerbidness also I’m pretty sure they have something like that in overwatch for someone that died in one of the maps. It’s like a spacesuit with a flower crown and it has the persons name I think.
Shadowlands is gonna provide a great opportunity to pay tribute to many, I for one look forward to checking in on Hayven in Bastion.
