- In this video, we look back at two priest weapons that have been lost in history - Benediction and Anathema. These staves were the definition of excellence for priests in the early days of raiding, and this is how the weapons could be acquired. Enjoy!

They are no longer lost, Blizzard officially added back the quest chain in WoW: Classic. Can't believe how fast everything happened since 2016 to 2019. Hope you're doing well in heaven, Hayven.

I swear all of the coolest stuff was removed in Cataclysm things people like me will probably never get to experience, just because we couldn't play before a particular expansion.

I never played a priest and I was always kind of a casual player, so I never had any idea about this! I'm glad someone made a video about it - now whenever I see this transmog I'll know what the story is, and that priest will have a ton of my respect!
I remember this and the other older class quest and how you had to solo them.
Course while I never played a Priest back then, I did played a hunter and had to go and do all of that as well as the hunter own solo questing.
While I got lazy and never finished before Cata, it was something back then.
Can't believe I missed out on a quiver. lol

Blasthood Not rosetinted in my case. I played nost from its release to its closure and i will play on nost when it gets out on 17 dec. Many times more enjoyable than retail has been the last 7 years

eafe saf Well, it may hearten you to know that Blizzard copyrighted the title 'The Dark Below' back in 2013- hints from the Shadow Priest artefact whispers and a the churning of the rumour mill suggests that it may well be the next expansion- I hope we will see N'zoth and Queen Azshara, and leave the Burning Legion behind for a good while when Legion is done!

Excellent. I acquired the staves a long time ago but forgot the epic journey it took. Best believe I have Benediction transmogged over my artifact, something that will likely never change. I am also pleased to see that Blizzard finally recognized the accomplishment by making it a Feat of Strength here in Legion :). Thanks for making this video, for I haven't felt such pride in one of my old items in a long time

Items lost to history in World of Warcraft is a great idea for a new series. Would watch many more!
Brings back so many memories. We found ways around the no-help parts of the quest line to get out priests their staffs. Took some careful planning, and a few failures. Once we had it down and got more priests with the components, each new one went smoother and smoother.
As someone who did this in Vanilla and decked out in all blue gear except Tier 1 shoulders, I can tell you it was brutal. It was brutal and sadistic and totally worth it. :)
To this day I look back on it as one of the most satisfying thing in WoW. And I had several server first kills in Vanilla and TBC raids.

this was the most memorable quest line i ever did in 10years wow and felt the most rewarding. Also the staff isnt visible in the armory
I was happy to get my benediction achievement when transmog was changed in legion. Now I just wish I could mog it in shadow, but I'm stuck with a dagger. :(

Amazing video as usual. I really like the weapon and the lore part of Sylvanas. More, more more! In general I just love all your videos. You bring the old school feeling back. When the game actually was hard, rewarding and fun as hell.
A video with full info and true lore about Blackrock mountain would be epic. Such a super cool place, one of my favorite from day one. All the way from BRD, LBRS, UBRS, MC, BWL all the epic NPCs, quests, ganking all the raiders and what not. That's a cool idea. Then maybe full video about Dire Maul and Naxxramas. Everyone love Naxx ofc, including myself. Just saw half of the instance in vanilla and it was truly amazing.

I like how back in the early days you had to find a purpose for a item that would lead you to starting a quest with it. Kind of boring that every quest starting item has a ! on it now.

Benediction is easily my favorite holy priest staff in the game to this day :) Its quest gave me goosebumps when I first did it about 12 years ago, friggin' epic, man ^^

is itr really rare? feels as if it isn't since my cousin has it and we farmed it for not that long back in MC.
Well, its rare seeing as you cant have farmed for it. cause the Eye of divinity isnt obtainable anymore.
@@cardy4ever Its rare these days as not alot of people farmed mc after vanilla ended. so pretty much everyone who has it was a raiding priest during vanilla. Seeing as transmog was added to the game after this staff was removed.
Cool video, I hated doing the healing part of that quest line and I failed it several times. I was really happy to get it for my priest Talismara and still have it :)

I'm using the staff myself on my Dwarf Priest over at Elysium, getting the item from Molten Core, doing the quest and the journey untill the staff was in my hands, and the feeling when I finally had it.. Man, that really gives you the perspective of an ''EPIC'' item.

There's a secret island in Kalimdor, just off the eastern coast (off Durotar?)
I have this weapon and can attest to it being a difficult trial, I later took benediction into battlegrounds where it helped me gain rank 14 and i still have it transmoged even today and still wear my pvp title. Not being able to complete the quest for benediction truly does make it legendary among the community. I do get questions about it sometimes but rarely
I got this in vanilla. One of the countless times I "quit" wow I trashed all my items. I asked GMs on a couple of occasions about restoring the item for me but they never did. I was so happy to see it in the transmog collection when Legion came out.

Well I would use it, but my damn artifact weapon is a dagger...
You can cross-transmog now. so a dagger can be a staff, (if you have it the appearance, of course.)
that's half true, cross transmog only works within items that share the same basic animations, so daggers are fucked lol
nope. Fist weapons and daggers are in completely separate classes from anything else and can only be t-moged with fist or daggers respectively.
Pretty much anything else, yes. as long as it's the same basic category (2hd or 1hd and usable by your class).
I miss class quests a lot! I started a paladin partway through Wrath, and only vaguely remember a lot of cool stuff that was cut in Cataclysm. Class quests are one of the things I miss most. Class-based videos would be exciting to me, as well as more things that were in vanilla to Wrath and aren't around anymore. Historical things are so interesting.

So, in Classic 2019, priests found out there were certain parts of the side hills you could stand on and reach the ghosts to heal them even if you weren't the one doing the challenge and it wouldn't fail the person doing it. All you had to do was have the Eye of Divinity equipped. At first, this was frowned upon, but it eventually became a beautiful display of community on my server. It became a ritual of sorts. You would do your challenge, with the help of others, but wait until your next raid day to complete Benediction. That way, you kept the Eye of Divinity until then. Until that day, you would check in EPL chat to see if anyone needed help doing the challenge, and would go help them. I met a lot of cool players that way, and it's what I always think of when people talk about "Vanilla WoW Community."
I did the quest chain for this set of amazing weapons back at level 80 (I did not play until very late in vanilla) and even at 80 it was a chore. Much props and respect for those that did it at 60 and when I break out the old t1 set on my priest this is the weapon of choice for mog.
I actually saw Benediction for the first time in Legion Dalaran last week used as a mog. Its a spectacular looking Priest staff! My troll Priest back then was totally involved in pvp as an AB and AV super-twink, so I never even tried to get it. :(
