In each Alterac Valley there's a hidden NPC behind the mountains called Herald. He's the one yelling "North Bunker is under attack!" or "South tower has been destroyed!" for example. I was hoping to see him in this video :( I wonder if he has an actual model.
In Warsong Gulch, there is a non-targetable Dwarf NPC located inside one of the tree stumps in the center of the Gulch who acts as the announcer for yells in the BG. I imagine the Herald is similar to that.
If it was an How it REALLY looks video, maybe he would have, but this is more an Alpha exploration

Yes! Although I imagine the boat section uses the same tricks as the gunship and Deathwing in Dragon Soul, which are both inside a bubble with a moving sky texture.

i havn't done it since vanilla, to hear that it changes, along with mount hyjal, azura, and all the classics of wow that blizz ruined, makes me wonder why i came back for legion

Have you ever thought about doing a video on Gnomeregan? The evolution of the dungeon, and also how the gnome city is portrayed in Ironforge (they used to have the "airport" which was actually off limits for the players). Maybe an evolution video?

This reminds me of when I accidentally ported to a winter version of Arathi Basin when I was playing around with Map IDs on my private server.
I miss the old days, when one AV could last a weekend, you'd actually fight on the field of strife, and one could summon Icy.

Hi Hayven AV was added in patch 1.5, but in 1.8 Avalanches occurred removing certain sections of the map. Would have really liked to see what the AV in 1.5 looked like when it was live and before the map changed.
I realized when making this video there's enough content about AV to make a proper Evolution video of it. When I do, I'll be sure to think of that.

Could you do a video about that gated off instance portal in pre-Cata Darkwhisper Gorge? I've looked all over and there are no videos exploring behind the gate.
Behind that gate there's nothing. What is behind that is the old Hyjal zone, which Hayven already made a few videos about. The portal was innactive. The gate just function as a barrier so you don't reach the portal and realize it dosen't work, just like the gate at the end of Stratholme or the one atop Karazhan. Blizzard wanted to use Hyjal one way or another every since even before vanilla, they just weren't sure which of multiple ideas go with. The original Hyjal reflected the events of warcraft 3, had some cool elements like the giant crater in the north area and Archmond remains hanging from Nordrasil.

Hayven! Is there a certain program you use to view map files?
He just map swaps and then uses WMT / Free Far Sight to get the camera movement most of the time.
