I don't think even AMD was expecting more than a couple percent in IPC gains. What they were expecting was 3000-3200mhz clocks at this power usage.

7900xt is flawless. With my Ryzen 5600x You can say whatever you want, this GPU eats every game. btw i'd like to mention, with sam ( smart access memory ) and resizable bar turned on. it's in ur mb settings. gpu will also use half of ur system ram. I have 32 gb ddr4 @ 3200MHz and she purrs like a kitten. cod, cyberpunk, and i thought i'd add this for a laugh, 1600 fps on FF6 pixel remastered edition. looks so good lol, i caped it at 60 fps lol gpu sounds like a damn jet engine . all i'm sayin is if you pick up this gpu. you wont be dissapointed

Why not compare the high end cards? I think that the RDNA3 cards come with some sort of AI cores which is not there on the RDNA2 cards. These AI cores may help in the future for upscaling….maybeeee

7900XT is now a great high end card with 630euro for used in poland. Also very cheap used Intel i5 12400f is satisfactory for pair. This give us more many for bigger/better res. screen.

Of course you can get a cheaper build to get same performance like m2 pro But you will never get cheaper performance with same power consumption like m2 pro There‘s only one Mac Studio M2 Max performing 24 Core GPU at 30 Watts (That‘s Amazing)

To be fair even the 4090 doesn't offer competitive frames at 4K and a lot of pro gamers use it to play at 1080P. The 4070Ti should be fine for any and all 1080P and 1440P gaming for the foreseeable future.

Thanks for your review. I too am not happy with the "upgraded" CPU. Aside from Bios headaches and lower benches, I am ready to return this pos back to Amazon and get another 7950x. Lucky I'm still in my 30 day return period. Losing faith as fast as this CPU creates headaches for my system.

Just got a 4070 Ti Super and I'm still on AM4 Ryzen 9 5900x. I'm perfectly happy with my frame rates in gaming, but my PC is also a workstation. The Cuda performance is more important.

Actually my 7950x3d was easy to install. I was up and running before I knew it. I used a Asrock x670e Taichi MB, even that was easy to setup for a mother board. Don’t really get this “games running on the right CCD.” If the game is glitch free why does it matter? I would rather have a 160 watt CPU than a 400 watt’er. Not trying to burn down my house for a game. For streaming I still run air cooled (coolermaster 622). My sim racing improved and my lap times reduce with more skill. What am I missing? I can’t fix it if I don’t know what’s broken. My gpu is a RX7900xtx. It runs on 400 watts. I leave it up to the AMD assistant in Adrenalin to adjust game performance as necessary. Adrenalin over-clocks the CPU too, Ryzen Master (kinda clunky). You can do in the bios what Ryzen Master does. I get 536 FPS in UT2004 setting on Ultra. 120 in F1 2023 w/ RT on VR ultra. 236 in Beat Saber not a stutter or glitch. No I do not buy other people’s project cars either. Why I went with AMD. Intel Arc is a project car, with no focus in VR. Nvidia makes their stuff out of gold (apparently and Intel, don’t need a heater, mine works fine currently and air cooling is more cost effective.

Mine is a hellhound, and I didn't get a golden sample. I gave mine a modest 2650 mem, and 2750locked core. 1050 mv, 15+ limit. Never have any issues at all, and I get a nice performance boost just from that.

I see RDNA3 more like chiplet design test drive, the potencial for chiplet design its great, the first gen was not impressive but the idea is. Let them work the kinks, then when they make a BIG chip like a GPU Threadripper, NVIDIA will be behind.

I nearly share your opinion concerning prices. But i do not really agree with your way of argumentation. You only compare the die size of GPUs. But you do not consider that the costs per die size have increased with the switch from samsung N8 to tsmc N4 process.

Kind of strange that you state that the 7900XT is a "4k GPU" and the 4070ti is a "1440p GPU" and then display benchmarks that show they're only 3% apart. Honestly it kind of makes the first half of the video where you're comparing memory bandwidth to ring hollow since they're so close regardless of that bandwidth.

My System ryzen 7700x and rx 7900xt Nitro+ (420watt) and 3,335ghz gpu clock and vram oc 2700mhz stable with 1050mv uv timespy score 30680pts gpu and 13600pts cpu im on place 9 at 3dmark. Awesome gpu and faster then the normal xtx !

I usually skip a generation before upgrading but looks like my 3070 is gonna be staying with me for a little longer. Raw rasterization this generation was underwhelming.

You can easily oc the 7900xt to base xtx level but the xtx appears to not have much headroom not nearly as the xt with significantly lower power draw and temps at default

I went for the non-3d version. I consider myself an enthusiast but I didn't want to spend the time tweaking as I don't have the time.

Quite funny to look back at this now , in light of the actual performance gains. The 4070 ti Super and 4080 Super offered virtually no gains whatsoever (in the latter we are running into measurement error) , the 4070 Super was OK in the end. By a twist of fate I now own a MSI Suprim X 4080 Super - my 2080ti died two weeks after I wrote this - I could have gotten the 4070 Ti Super but wanted the extra headroom of the 4080!

Sad for "I'm a Mac" and others here, the AMD 7900xtx is faster in Raster than the 4080 Super (especially more FPS percentage performance at 4K) and is still cheaper than the 4080 Super. The new 4080 Super OC cards are also more expensive than many 4080 OC cards in many locations and counties.

I play a on 1440p ultrawide, I just got the 7900 XT Speedster Merc BE and OC the Clocks to 3000Mhz and VRam to 2800 Mhz. Its been holding very stable. Also have a undervolt of 1.040. I think it gets on par with the 4080 stock in just raster performance and I don't bother with ray tracing. worth the upgrade over my old rtx 3080. would recommend this gpu and have'nt had any issues with amd drivers yet but ive only had it for 2 days now haha.

as a rule of thumb, anything that is designed and conceived solely by chnk scm should be avoided. found that out the expensive way. even now, while Intle is the paragon imprlst grdy scm, still their products are loads better. best desktop cpu in the world my ass.

This is garbage. The newer technology wasn’t even fully supported when you reviewed it and still doesn’t use the matrix cores for frame generation yet. Considering they have double the Matrix SIMD units, you’re looking at up to double the performance for FSR, Frame Generation, and a good bump in ray tracing performance. Newer drivers have already shown an improvement and the beta drivers are showing even more boost with frame generation technology. The 7800XT is why Nvidia has to release the 4070 Super, because it was losing in most areas compared to the AMD card that often sold for $80 less.

This is a great video. I learned a lot watching this and was happy to the that the M2 pro max mini is a solid contender in terms of graphics and fps. I was planning to upgrade from the base max mini to M2 pro but wanted to see how good a change it would be so thank you for this info.🙂
