How Tim Quit Smoking & Lost Weight with the CBQ Program: Advice on Freedom, Mindset & Change
Ask an Ex episode #36! In this interview, we're welcoming the inspiring go-getter Tim Roberts from Queensland, Australia, who quit smoking with the Cognitive Behavioral Quitting (CBQ) Program on July 8, 2022. His transformation has been nothing short of incredible.
Tim smoked his first cigarette when he was 14 years old and smoked on and off for over 50 years. Throughout life, he also became addicted to alcohol and food. He was a "perfectionist emotional cripple," and vices became his go-to coping mechanism. Even though Tim eventually quit alcohol, he could not let go of cigarettes.
When Tim was ready to quit smoking, he joined the CBQ Program and became a happy non-smoker. Soon after his quit date, Tim used the CBQ Program also to change his relationship with food and lost 28kg (60 pounds)!

    I stopped smoking nearly two years ago using your work. I wrote a whole exercise book from your videos to become a non smoker. Funny thing was . I made a date to stop. Two days before I wanted to change it . Delay the event. But I couldn’t. It was already programmed into my mind. Thank you for your work :)

      @clancycreations...it's a drug. You HAVE to fight thru it!! It robs you of your OXYGEN, raises your BLOOD PRESSURE, demands Nicotine from you - at their beck and call - very Inconvenient times!! I no longer wanted that control over me. It's a DRUG!!! And Drugs can kill you!! I stopped March 10 2024. I was absolutely dumb the first day. No brain cells .couldn't even add 2+2, - not even kidding!! Then, full on tiredness... It's almost outta my system now!!! It's been 12 &1/2 weeks!! 👍👍 you can't EVER take one hot again! Like she says... NOPE means - Not One Hit EVER! One hit will get you hooked again! #DONTDOIT ❤️ Good Luck to all 👍

      What I meant to say...from another video of hers is..- "NOPE!"...Meaning " Not One Puff Ever! NOPE!! I stopped, March 10, 2024. I couldn't concentrate that very next two days, now I have the tiredness and fatigue ...it will soon be totally out of my system. I just don't want to be tired any longer. Lol

    This all resonates with me… She was me and now I want to be her. My body can heal… And when she said … I sat and smoked and subconsciously waited for my cancer. 😢 ~ this is me and honestly didn’t know how to describe that until you said it.

    I don’t know why but my withdrawals are super bad … Here is the backstory . I started fasting a week ago and I quit smoking cold turkey , while all that is happening I managed to catch flu aswell .. I vomit atleast 3-5 times a day everyday . My body is constantly cold whether I’m in a warm place or not , I remember getting in a hot shower but deep inside my muscles I honestly still felt cold .. my urine is extremely yellow like I’m peeing juice … I’m definitely not smoking ever again

    I figured this out too and managed to quit a few months ago. And the way I quit was funny, I just didn't feel like smoking anymore. First day is the only day my body wanted nicotine and whatever bs is in cigarettes, but on second day it was easy, and after week I quit nicotine. I expected it to be harder but it wasn't hard at all, after I realized that it's all mental, the physical side of addiction is so small it really doesn't matter after I understood I really did not want to smoke anymore.

    I've been smoking since 14-15 years , started in my first year of college , but since then slowly it's fked up my brain , I've now depression, anxiety, no motivation, and the worse thing is i can't feel emotions at all , maybe i am suffering from anhedonia , went to a psychiatrist she suggested antidepressants, after 20 i said I don't feel any improvements , she then finally said that quit smoking completely else nothing will work , also exercise, breathing, and go out more . So that's a wake up call for me , after coming from the clinic, i had 2 packs left , smoked like it's the last , after emptying those 2 packs , I've quitted smoking completely, it's been 7 days but I don't having much trouble of doing that , cause I've done it for 3 months two times before , i do have many withdrawal symptoms and they're some feelings that I can't even explain, but the main thing is that i don't have any urge to smoke , the cravings goes away in 3 days , yeah the psychological cravings do come like how i used to smoke , and also sometimes feels like why am i doing this , cause nothing is happening, but i also know it's all a trap to do smoke again, i know it's a long journey and i should maintain atleast 3+ months smoke free to actually feel the positive effects of quitting. So if you have a thought of quitting, it's never late , quit it as soon as you can , the journey would not be easy but have faith the results will be worth quitting.

      Hi Lauren .... just some words of support for you.... Nasia is kind enough to supply all of the information for free by watching many or all of her videos and reading many of the positive comments from people that have learned from her ! You only pay for personal support which is cheap in the long run, to regain your health and the discount is to stop smoking ! you will pay a much bigger price for continuing to smoke compared to the cost of the support program !
