    I’ve been smoking for about 40 years and decided to quit. I stopped buying cigarettes, putting them in my mouth and lighting them. No smoking for 3 months and I’m not going back. BTW, it’s more of a mental addiction than physical, just keep telling yourself you are a non smoker and the urge will pass.

      @@Brooke-zq7se oh my... Congratulations! That is awesome. You're doing better than I am. I've been on Chantix for three months, and started cutting back after one month. I remember being proud when I was at eight per day! Anyway, I was at two a day for a few days, then one a day... Then 0!!! BUT that was about a week ago, and since then there have been two days that I've gotten really upset and anxious (I have anxiety disorder) and smoked a few. But the day after those days I was able to not smoke. It's only when I get upset. How did you handle it? Was it an easy process for you? It's been tough for me. I would call myself a non-smoker if I was at 70 days! I hope you are proud of your accomplishment

      @@tetasnuttyworld6203 thank you so much! You’re doing great, going a day without is huge!! It’s a difficult thing, this is my 3rd attempt over a couple years. For some reason it was actually pretty easy for the first month this time but had a tough couple of weeks recently, I have pretty bad anxiety too, though never diagnosed with anything. Don’t be discouraged should that anxiety creep up, I came to these videos today to check mine. My husband quit with me as did our good friend and we’re all still going but I have to say it’s been helpful having them to talk to so I hope you have a support network, if not hit me up 😊. I’m certain you can do this, that God will give you the strength and that there is peace at the end!!

      The unconscious mind can't take negative orders. As I share in the CBQ webinar, if I tell you "Don't think about a pink elephant" what you will think is a pink elephant. The same way, when you tell yourself "I don't smoke" the mind receives more images about smoking. This was a very bad hypnotic suggestion that was given to you. (I know because I am a certified hypnotherapy practitioner and hypnosis does not work for quitting smoking.)

This darn negative internal image of myself is always resurfacing even after I think I've made some postive progress with my confidence and self worth. New beliefs do take time to integrate and I forget to believe the new ideas! I am well aware of visualization and athletic performance. For an actual win, the other half of the equation is physical performance, the body's ability to accomplish. Concerning addictions, the body will fight like hell to avoid change. It is like a well trained and visualizing athlete beginning the race with confidence but his/her body retaliates rewards all the training and positive thoughts with massive muscle cramps short of the goal.
    Physiological cures must be found for addictions! Addiction is the body's ability to torture the soul for a lifetime.

    • @CBQMethod
      @CBQMethod  Před 11 měsíci +2

      "Concerning addictions, the body will fight like hell to avoid change." No, the body is designed to live addiction free. The mind is hardwired to fight change, not the body. When it comes to addiction, the body does not need to do any performances; it just has to be allowed to heal.

      @@CBQMethod We make many changes in our lives. Sometimes we plan to make these changes, even difficult ones. All along those paths we have control of our emotions and decision making. Our bodies rarely overpower our abilities to make choices, to accept or reject whatever steps we make. Only addictions cause bodies to seek destruction, to fight to maintain destructive states. Not only that, but so-called "recovery" is about a lifetime of vigilance for many.
      (I am a journalist and researcher and my estate is willed to medical research to study the physiology of, and to seek cures for, addiction.)

However, what you said 'does' seem to make sense and it sounds like something that could help in other areas of your life too, so at least I've been able to gain something from your video that I can try to put into practice. 👍😃
