Break in my new Yamaha MT-07 motorcycle
zhlédnutí 10KPřed 2 lety
Last week, I bought a 2021 Yamaha MT-07 so I’ll be breaking in the bike for the first few hundred kilometers. I happen to own a rental property in Bowmanville, Ontario which is just a few kilometers away from where I live. I received a call from the tenant because their dryer won’t come on anymore. So I’m riding my bike there to investigate. To those new to riding, or driving in general, the br...
2021 Yamaha MT-07 a Short Rider’s First Impressions
zhlédnutí 49KPřed 2 lety
I bought a brand new 2021 Yamaha MT-07 and here are my first impressions from the perspective of a mature short rider. The most interesting things about this motorcycle are its new headlight design, and the dash. The new LED projector headlight was a concern because of the small diameter might make it less visible to other drivers but it doesn’t appear to be a problem so far. Then there is the ...
My First Footpeg Scraper - Suzuki M50 Cruiser Motorcycle
zhlédnutí 850Před 2 lety
My fear level on the Boulevard M50 motorcycle is moderate and so I was afraid to lean the bike too much. I have found it very intimidating to make U turns so I wanted to get over this fear and test the lean angle limits. I didn’t have this problem with my CBR250R but with this bike, I’ve had to put a foot down while making U turns. In the process, I made my first footpeg drag.
Oil Change DIY Suzuki Boulevard M50/C50 Without Motorcycle Jack Stand

In this episode, I’ll show you how I did an oil change on my Suzuki Boulevard M50 without a motorcycle jack. The M50 may also be called the Intruder M800 outside of North America which is exactly the same model. This process also works for the VL800 C50 originally named the VL800 Intruder Volusia which was the model the M50 was developed from with slight modifications. Parts and Tools: 4 L 10W4...
Motorcycle Skills Diminishing? Use it or Lose it!

A couple of years ago, I developed a fear of riding my motorcycle for no reason. I had not been involved in any close calls at all. Every time there was a chance for me to ride, I found an excuse not to. I worried about things like, what if a deranged driver intentionally crosses the center line just to mess with me? Or what if a student driver doesn’t see me and makes a left into my lane? Or i...
I Bought a 2009 Suzuki Boulevard M50: First Impressions
zhlédnutí 17KPřed 2 lety
I bought my first cruiser: a 2009 Suzuki Boulevard M50. With my limited experience on this bike so far, I will tell you how it’s been: First of all, as a shorter rider, I appreciate the lower seat height which allows me to flat foot both feet. Even my CBR-250R did not allow me to do that. I also like the lower centre of gravity which gives it a unique riding experience compared to my sport bike...
Swingarm spool & lift on Honda CBR 250R Motorcycle

Happy Black Friday everyone, and to my subscribers south of the border, Happy Thanksgiving! Today’s video is pretty much like a ride report and possibly my last ride of the season. 5 Ways to Avoid Road Rage on a Motorcycle
zhlédnutí 15KPřed 6 lety
Road rage is like a fight between 2 opponents using their cars as weapons and shields. You can imagine why road rage on a bike can be more costly than in a car. You are more likely to get injured or killed in a bike accident by yourself to begin with. The risk increases when it involves another vehicle because your potential opponent is driving a more massive vehicle. 1. Wear the right attitude...

On the other hand, a stiffer setting will be capable of taking on a heavier lo...

The bike is quick and it comes alive a bit more from 6k rpm onwards. I've got the 21 model, pretty much the same but I get analogue tacho and liquid crystal clocks (not as nice) and a blipper. I really like the big tacho with the shift lights though. One thing on mine that is annoying, at low speed when you have to apply full or close to full lock the clutch bite point changes. I.e. full lock left the bite point moves closer to the bar, full lock left its farther away. I don't notice it at any other time, just have to keep it in mind or its easy to stall esp on full left lock turns. Anyway, hope you enjoy your riding

Or you could just read the manual and do as the manufacturer of the bike says to do. And then if you have a problem with the engine they can't say well you didn't do proper break in. And they know if you do it properly because of all the little sensors in the engine.

In the "old days" before the advent of "o" ring chains, I used to have several chains with master links (we seem to have gotten away from master links) I would take the new chain and link it to the old chain and pull it through and reconnect it. The "old dirty chain" I mounted a BBQ rotisserie motor with a front sprocket welded to it on the garage wall and allowed the chain to rotate through a mix of gear oil and motor oil for a day and it got squeeky clean and lubed. I would then stand out in the yard and fling the chain in a circle to remove a good deal of the excess before wiping it down. This surely would well lube all the pins and links which you cannot do today. By the way, I just bought a second CBR Halloween day that is the same color as yours
