    After all the bikes I’ve looked over I went with an m50. Can we all agree that this bike has one of the nicest looking rear ends in the history of.. ever?
    Mine’s a little suped up but I think it’s got great power for an 805. It’ll outrun 1100s and it’s nimble for being so heavy. I’m an experienced rider, this thing shot above expectations.
    I love this bike- 45k mi and never a major issue. That’s respectable! I’m turning to the dark side. From the m50 to the m109r to the Busa- no one can deny Suzuki is killing it.
    Plus, MAJOR “pro”, these vz800s/boulevards have parts galore for the drivetrain. Muah 👌spicy meataball over here!

    Passed a 'like' along. Wagering I passed my class six long before your birth. I appreciate your cautious approach to keeping the rubber side down.
    Have always tightened my helmet with the thought to 'Controlled Paranoia'. The basic concept mimics you 'fear'.
    Assume no one, regardless of all the fluorescent gear you may wear, sees hears or is aware of you. You are your only option for survival.
    Please keep riding. Please keep pushing the message that 'riding' does not mean caving to cultural machismo. It means making good choices.
    Not many 'tubers' would post they trailered a bike home because they did not know the machine... Not many tubers are as wise or as brave as you.

    Thanks for the video ! I just bought a 2008 M50 Cruiser last Thursday. Silver and Black. 8300 miles. I haven't rode a bike for 42 years ! Back then it was only occasionally on my brothers Kawasaki 500. All I see so far is a Custom exhaust, K&N Air filter, and a tuner. I read that the tuner was probably added to mate the engine with the free flow exhaust. Anyway, I have only rode it to work 3 times ( 1 mile from my house ) ! I like the honesty in you revealing/ filming practice in parking lot's. That is what I plan to do tomorrow. Thanks again ! Subscribed ! -Ed from Indy.

    Well done video!
    I have an M50 as well and it's my first cruiser as I always owned sport bikes before. Like you I didn't want to break the bank on my first cruiser but I've been really happy with it.
    It does have a lack of power for interstate riding and like you said, overtaking. But I use it to ride to work which is all side roads so it's not an issue, I do wish it had a sixth gear though, for me that would be a huge help.
    Keep the rubber side down and keep up with the videos!

    Blown away that you're back making videos! Welcome back! Loved your earlier vids and your style.
    For years I've struggled with feeling uncomfortable riding around. It seemed like I had to psych myself up all the time and I didn't go out much. That changed when I made it a priority to just ride frequently and put myself into situations that really forced me to grow. If you love riding, but suffer from anxiety for whatever reason, just keep at it. Keep it simple and don't give up

    Hi mate I have an m50 and just watched your video.
    To help with confidence when accelerating from a stop, try pre loading your revs- learn to keep revs up a bit at all times and use your clutch to control forward power/ acceleration.- that way you always have power available to go…Alex

    The M50 was my first bike that I found to be a perfect learning bike. My only gripe was the 805cc caused me to always look for a 6th gear over the 6 year ownership. I am now on a m109r and Love the bike. Cheers!

  • @davidwatkins999
    @davidwatkins999 Před rokem +2

    I’ve had an M50 for several months. Found an 05 with 4K miles. It’s a great bike. Has enough power and is very comfortable to ride. I just recently rode 5 hours with a buddy who had a 750 Honda shadow.
    My only complaint is the bike needing a 6th gear. At around 70mph you can tell the bike is running around 3k RPM’s and could use the extra gear to smooth out the ride at 80 plus.
    I hit 100MPH on a long straight away to see how it felt. These bikes aren’t meant for top speed, the turbulence and stress on the motor made the speed feel more unsafe than if it were a sport bike. That said, it’s still a great bike for long distance rides and keeping speeds around the speed limit.

    • @Brownbrady
      @Brownbrady  Před 7 měsíci +1

      I agree, it could use one more gear one the highway. Otherwise, it's a great bike all around. Thanks for watching.

    Hey, Brady. I enjoyed this video. I can understand the fear of riding thing. Up until buying a 2000 Suzuki Marauder last spring I hadn't ridden for 15 years. I think the Marauder is basically the same bike as yours. I mentioned to a friend about having to take slow speed turns as the bike felt unsteady. He said go faster. I found this helped actually. A little faster speed made turning easier. Don't go crazy though.I must say that is a good looking bike. By the way, I'm up the road from you in Orillia. Happy riding. Cheers.

    I have been back in the saddle for a couple of months now, after 30 years of not riding. I bought a C-50T.
    I do not know why I was not personally clever enough to think to call it a "Bully," but I love it. That shall be my response to those who ask from now on. Yes, I am shamelessly stealing that.
    Thanks brother
    By the way, my previous riding experience, although a long time ago, was on a Kawasaki Ninja. All of my old habits that came back to me were crotch rocket habits. Tip: That heel shift pedal...you are never going to use that but you will hit it by accident, and often. When you are doing a turn from stop, it will kick you from 1st to neutral in the middle of your turn. Be wary of that thing. I am thinking of pulling out my grinder and deleting mine.

    Smart move on having your new purchase towed home. My first bike purchase was a '04 Yamaha FZ6 just a year ago. It was definitely heavier than the 250 I rode in the MSF course, but here in Honolulu there just isn't a lot of decent used bikes in the low cc range to choose from. I had a friend who was an experienced rider test drive the bike and ultimately drive it home for me. After a week of riding around my neighborhood getting comfortable with the bike, I drove it across town in dense urban traffic to a friend's motorcycle shop to have new tires and chain installed. I love riding this sport touring bike, but I'm definitely ready to move to a cruiser.

    I have M800, which is European version of M50 and am loving mine. It's also my first bike. Am still getting a feel of it, but to be honest it's much more controllable and easier to ride than Yamaha Fazer I took the test on. On slow speeds turning to hard can be a bit tricky since bike has a tendency to lean on that side. But other than that, I've been super happy with mine.

    This is a great choice for a nervous rider. I have a 2019 C40T and a 2015 Vulcan S ABS and I can say they are very very different. The Vulcan S is very punchy and easily 2x faster then my Boulevard. Very sensitive throttle and rides more like a sport bike then
    A cruiser. I call one my slow
    Big bike and one my fun bike haha both have their purpose but I find the C50 very new rider friendly! As a Vulcan S owner, I wouldn’t recommend it as a first bike. I would not have liked it as my first. Excellent choice!

    I'm actually looking at possibly getting one of these. I have a Nighthawk 750 and a Goldwing 1100 (700+ lbs) so I'm not worried about handling the bike. I'm more concerned about is it going to be heavy and slow like my Goldwing or quick and nimble like my Nighthawk. I'm hoping to find someone who has one at one of the local bike nights so maybe I can offer to fill up their tank if they let me take it for a test ride.

    Hi Brown Brady, I see that you sold your 2009 M50, just wondering if you would recommend that bike? As it appears you kept yours for well under a year. I'm a new rider, but a bigger guy at 6' 2", 210 lbs. Many riders are telling me to buy 650 CC or bigger, wondering why you sold yours and if you recommend an M50 as a first bike? I plan on staying in my own neighbourhood for several weeks to a month to start. Thoughts?
