  • First made in 2005, the Suzuki Boulevard M50 is a simple, reliable, and affordable muscle cruiser. Does it have all of the glitz and glam of a Harley-Davidson? No. Does it have the power to back it's muscle cruiser looks? No. But this review will cover 5 reasons why I think might want to buy a Suzuki Boulevard M50, and 5 reasons why you might not want to.

Thanks for this info. Im a delivery driver for Amazon. I delivered a package today and the customer answered the door...I asked him why I have never seen the bike move from the spot it was parked in. Been there since 2017. He said something about the ex left it there and he didnt know what to do with it. The next question he asked me got me interested. He asked if I wanted it. LOL. I thought he was joking. He wasnt. He said he has the title and the keys and to text when I plan to come get the bike. Im assuming from pictures its a 2007 m50. It will need some loving to get it back to riding condition and with the help of your videos, maybe it will be.

I had an m50. It was a fantastic bike. Threw on a windshield, saddle bags, and a sissy bar and rode from SLC to Jackson Hole with my girlfriend. The factory seat sucks. But the bike is great. Not the most powerful but it has sufficient to be fun. I paid $2800 for one that was 5 years old with a branded title because it was a theft recovery that was crashed. It had scratches was all. Put 4000 miles on it that first summer. Not a ton but enough to say it was a great bike. I’d buy another in a heartbeat.

Thanks Eric. Honestly, it's a wonderful mid size cruiser. If I ever wanted to step down from my 91-octane guzzling V-Rod, I would consider going back to another M50. This bike belonged to a customer of mine who had a health issue come up in the past year so I helped him sell it. He's asked me to keep my eyes open for a good price on a scooter or something lighter and more manageable for him. I'm just glad to hear he wants to continue riding!

    Interesting.
I am in the learning process again. I used to ride, 30 years ago, but that was back in the crotch rocket days when we were all in our 20s and trying to be Tom Cruise. I just decided to ride again, and that old Ninja is no longer my style. But, this world of cruisers is brand new to me. Videos like this are helpful in the learning process.
My first "return to the saddle" bike is a C50 T. Like you said, it is plenty for the purposes of getting me back into the swing of things. But now that I am far enough along in the process to finally be feeling the road and the bike again...I can already tell that a year from now I am going to want something more.
This M50 seems to fit in a very similar place to my C50. In as much, I can add for your folks the fact that I am enjoying the hell out of it!

Can you make a video on your preference between the M50 and C50 and the reasons why you choose one over the other. Thanks.

    • @YouMotorcycle
      @YouMotorcycle  Před 2 lety +1

I don't know the likelihood of me getting a C50 and an M50 side by side, but if I can, I will.
In short: I prefer the look, I also think that the overall package of the M50 is more sporty than the relaxed C50. The C50 is more targeted for touring vs the M50 is better for inner city and fun. I prefer the foot pegs over floor boards, the more aggressive handlebar over the beach bar on the C50, etc.
My advice: Make your decision based on how you plan on using the bike and what you want to get from it. If you're looking for a commuter and something you can ride more aggressively and looks a little more modern, M50. If you want something more touring oriented, more 'heritage-looking' and more comfortable on multi-hour long rides, the C50 might be the better choice.

I've thought about the M90 on occasion but insurance here is so expensive for bikes once you get over the 1,200cc point it gets really absurd. The V-Rod ended up making the most power-per-dollar sense... And if a Harley, made in partnership with Porsche, that only takes premium, which it absolutely guzzles like no other motorcycle I've ever owned, makes the most financial sense, that should tell you how wild insurance rates are over here haha.

I thought it was an impressive motorcycle, and I wanted one for myself. Life moved on, and five years later, I finally decided to purchase a bike. I searched on Facebook Marketplace, aiming to find a bike similar to the one I had seen in the photo five years earlier. However, I didn't know the make or model, only recalling its distinctive look.
Now that I have one, the picture I saw all those years ago suddenly resurfaced on the internet. And guess what? It's the same bike. Not the exact one, but the same brand, model, year, and style. It seems that it had been in the back of my mind all those years.

I don't know about top end, I really never try to top out sport cruisers, that's why there's super sport bikes, with inline 4's! :P If you want something that does EVERYTHING better, get a late model 750 Magna, they beat these in every area, and beat most everything else its size, with a V config lol, it's a V4, so yeah, it's just a sport bike engine, in a cruiser body, but is also 100% cheat code, and you can pick them up for super cheap! :D.

We've had two V-Rods and a handful of M50s. There's no comparison. Other than beginner-friendliness, clutch pull, and mayyyybe rear shocks, the V-Rod is the better motorcycle in every way.
As for power on the highway, like you mentioned, M50 is going to struggle over 70 mph, whereas the V-Rod can do 70 mph in 2nd gear if you want it to.

V-Boost on the OG model was a hoot, bike didn't brake or turn for a damn but man was it fun to put in V-Boost merging onto the hwy or just going down a long straight. Back to the M50 you forgot #6 in the Pro column! PRICE these things are a steal of a deal. Up close and personal with an M50 compared to Dyna the fit & finish on the Dyna is definitely nicer but for such a significant upper in price not worth it, I wouldn't compare this to an 883 Sporty because those are physically a much smaller bike despite the similar engine displacement, A 6'+ 220+# guy on an 883 looks like a circus bear on tricycle but is comfortable on the M50.
