5 element Qigong - teaser
In the continuation of uploading more courses on both exploringtaiji and exploringqigong this course is covering 5 - element Qigong. According to Chinese Medicine balance of ‘the five elements’ are key components of a healthy life.
In Chinese philosophy the five elements of Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water are the five basic aspects of Qi, or life force. These five elements are both interconnected and interdependent.
There are many variations of these set and of course some is a better choice than others.

    This is very smooth and clearly demonstrated, thanks for sharing the complete set. I've been learning a version of this two-person set for a year now and it's a slow process of learning to feel the forces at play. I'm still on the part A at the moment. It's not about memorizing the sequence, although it kind of starts off that way, rather it's more about training and developing sensitivity, timing, positioning, spacial awareness etc. There is far more to it that meets the eye.

    At the moment when the master starts to push, the student stops moving and sometimes even gives a nice rigid target for the master's force to use. @ 4:50 is one of the most obvious moments. Why the student stopped neutralising the coming force, as he's been taught to do during push-hands ? 6:01 is where the student deliberately offers the master his wrist to push into. "My hand is soft and you don't know what to do" -- what a ridiculous concept. If there's no obstacle -- go through with your own push into his sternum. But THEY'VE BEEN TRAINED NOT TO DO THAT. That's the root of this whole game -- STICK TO THE MASTER'S HAND AND FALL BACK WHEN YOU FEEL PRESSURE, DO NOT NEUTRALISE. Is this a proper reflex to practice for Martial Arts usage ? Everybody come to their own conclusion.

      Hi, did you miss out on what is going on? As I wrote in the text this is a teaching situation where the focus is more on feeling/sensing what is happening - not trying to fight back or anything. This is an old clip close to 20 years ago and under labatory conditions. But let me asure you the concept in itself can easily be applied which I will be happy to show you if you at some point are in Denmark.

    • @justinfair5216
      @justinfair5216 Před 9 měsíci

      Hi TaijiquanGaoShan, If you have ever driven in winter and come across ice on the road, then you appreciate what it feels like to feel nothing (no traction to gain leverage with)...when you drive under normal conditions your tyres will find grip...this is the same concept. Your power find find no grip, like a car on ice, you will lose your foundation and are uprooted, without answer. It can be either (what you promote and what is happening on this video) depending on what is happening in the learning. To receive the issue and absorb it into your body i.e. take an inferior position allows the inferior player to listen to it, you are learning about how the superior issues...where it comes from etc. If you try to yield (defeat or 'fight') then as a young player you have likely stopped listening. Then as you climb in skill, you can arrange hand play where it is all countering...using only the right impulse or clobber him with anything you like...if there is nothing stopping you. If you do the former first, the latter will contain the quality. You will be like a soft spring. Later, the power is very heavy and damaging. But there is an order of learning. You have to have the eyes to see...but novices have no eyes, only the impulse to win and not lose. Chen said invest in losing. There is a lot of depth in that saying. Well worth wondering what that meaning in the application of training. TaiChi players: you need to give up something to have nothing. Nothing is important, if you have something you can't have nothing....and if you have nothing..then you'll find something. Now, when is something nothing, and nothing something?

He would smile and say that's how it is done. The first time he did it to me it was like a pallet of bricks fell on me. This is the problem with teaching this skill. You can't think your way through it, you have to learn it via hands on almost direct transmission from a teacher that has the skill. Even then it is illusive to the thinking mind. Had to smile.. my first week at Sifu's I asked him how much he practiced. He said "oh I don't practice... over the years I realized he practiced every day on all of us students, who were trying everything we knew to just hold our ground with him. I have no chance to give you an answer that matches your experiences since I have no clue of who you are and what your background is. Get my point? As for your comment you are actually wrong. Let me clarify: First of all this is a teaser for a partnerform that in the teaching program is covered with more than 2,5 hours of teaching in detalis. Secondly - each movement is practiced separately with release of internal force - not as a partnerform. In general the partnerform is supposed to be done like very good tuishou, covering lightness, sticking ability, sensitivity and so on. And no gaps. Thirdly - to really get the essence and importance of the form, you have to touch my hands or someone else who are qualified.

    In china the first to strike wins, how do you Defend against somebody who is lightning fast?

      I disagree in the sense that the two first strike always win. Anyway - the video is a short clip of sensiitivity, sticking, etc.

      Exploring Taiji with Torben Bremann yes i understand your video. Hard style and soft style have their advantages and defeat one another in certain ways. Im studying soft styles now/internal works. Very intricate and beautiful world of martial arts. ✌️

    Well spoken and unless one has touched a Master it is hard to fathom how lucky one is to do so. The gift/reference one receives is priceless if one has the ears to hear and eyes to see and humbleness to appreciate the good fortune!
