If you can find the books written before 1945 about Tibet, they all talk about the slavery and the harsh punishments metered out to the peasant class of Tibet, which is basically the ordinary people. There are images of people in these books who had limbs removed as punishment, it wasn't a land of spirituality like people try to promote. Britain signed a 99 year lease on Hong Kong in 1898, Hong Kong was handed back to China in July 1997, Tony Blair was PM but the hand over was nothing to do with him, the lease ended & the rest is history. China has already stated it will not deal with unfriendly western nations, so if it is a disaster for anyone, it would be for little Britain !!
