They killed several hundreds of people (in the same way that we have seen attacks in Paris, Brussels, Berlin), including killing Uyghurs as ETIM declared them as "infidels", because things like drinking wine is common in Xinjiang. The guards are there to instantly react when ETIM appears again and the security checks are for preventing ETIM to carry bombs into populated public areas.
I'm Chinese living in Shanghai. In fact, we don't care about the negative comments about China in the Western media now. Neither positive nor negative evaluations have an impact on our lives. Today's China is the result of the hard work of the Chinese people, not Western aid or charity. We welcome the cooperation of all countries around the world, and we are not afraid of various challenges. We exist, we are united, we are proud of our country, we are strong. Although we still have a lot of difficulties, we will definitely get better in the future
