Today, over 90% of Chinese people are happy that the government wiped them out cuz nobody wants China to be disintegrated as the Soviet Union. Nobody wants to live in poverty like the Ukrainian.

Perhaps it is the only country in the world that can write the vision of "Long Live the Great Unity of the People of the World" on its landmark buildings.
Totally agree. I feel the same way too. So much appreciation for China to put out this messages for all people of our world to be in harmony. Peace ❤
That slogan is basically why the US has a problem with China. If the people around the world all united together, where would those warmongers in the US sell their weapons to?
You guys don't see your military much in the US because they're in the 750+ military bases outside of the US, 300+ of which encircles China. The Chinese military is deployed each time there is a natural disaster to help the community affected, like in times of flooding, earthquakes etc., they function within China. That was a nice video, specially the local interactions.
In China, normally, you can't see the military either. It's just that you are in the Great Hall of the People, next to the office of the head of state. Just imagine, isn’t it normal to see police forces next to the White House? Foreigners who come to China for the first time still have preconceived prejudices. Whether it is the police or the cameras, for the Chinese, they are the protectors of our safety.
We see the military sometimes.
1. When they're trying to recruit kids.
2. When the police, uses violence to crush protests and rallies and face fierce public push back. Military will be deployed to further crush public voices.
3. When political officials do something to trigger public discontent and fear for their safety, military will be dispatched in advance.
Not to mention the huge police presence with SWAT teams that have armored vehicles and assault rifles.
US military causing havoc all over the world and the American public is complicit and enjoying the benefit.
The words on both sides of Mao Zedong's portrait are:
Long live People's Republic of China (PRC).
Long live the great unity of the people of the world.
I think these two paragraphs can better express the connotation of Chinese civilization than portraits.

Good to see more and more westerners visiting China and see China physically with their eyes.
There are a few reasons why western countries the governments don't want their citizens to visit China.
1st, to see all the Chinese super infrastructures.
2nd, how China is able to keep the public areas so clean, green and organized.
3rd, why China is so safe even for foreigners.
4th, Chinese are super friendly to foreigners and treat foreigners as guest.
5th, China public transportation is super good and cheap.
If those western countries people visit China and see all these, they will realize how useless and incompetent their governments are compared to the Chinese government. With so much taxes they're paying, yet their useless and incompetent governments are not able to provide them the same infrastructures, services, cleanliness and safety to the people like in China. Whereby Chinese pay very little taxes or some not paying at all.
That is why their governments keep lying to them about how bad China is and how undeveloped China is. The governments do not want the people to see the real China and compare.
Well said and still well said👍👍👍

Normally there is no sound of gunfire in Tiananmen Square. The couple was lucky enough to meet foreign heads of state visiting Beijing. By comparing their reaction to the sound of gunfire with that of ordinary Chinese people, we can actually explain some interesting things. Because China bans guns and has very good public security, the Chinese people will not feel that they are in danger when they hear the sound of gunfire. Everyone's first reaction is to take out their mobile phones to record and observe what interesting things happened. And because of the daily possibility of shootings in the United States, and the Western media exaggerating a dangerous feeling about China, they immediately lose their sense of security when they hear the sound of gunfire. This difference in reaction interestingly reflects the different social security of China and the United States, as well as the false reports of Western media on China.
@@chynavirusakawuflu9961 free your mother from your father's sexual abuse first
The sound of gunfire at Tiananmen Square is a salute for receiving foreign guests. Because opposite is the Great Hall of the People, an auditorium specially used to receive foreign heads of state. If you hear it for the first time, you must be a little nervous. When important heads of state visit the White House, there will also be a gun salute. The crowd ran to see the flag-lowering ceremony and to grab a good seat. This is the simplest emotion of the Chinese people.

In Beijing, if you want to visit famous landmarks such as the Forbidden City or the Palace Museum, you must make a reservation in advance; it's impossible to buy tickets on the same day. Also, your first reaction to hearing salutes is fear, which is so American. When we hear salutes, we think about where there might be an event and then rush over to join the excitement.
This is because the American people have been brainwashed by their Politicians and Media to believe everything is BAD in China.
哈哈 很讽刺的一段话 也很现实
Lately, the policy changed. Many landmarks do not required reservation. Not sure about Forbidden city. But it's a good policy, reservation will ensure the landmarks are not overcrowded.

Love your video and general respect for the history and culture. But you might want to read more widely and know that:
a) the 1989 Tiananmen Square Protest was part of a 'regime change' attempt (along with almost simultaneous similar ones against the Communist / Socialist countries in Eastern Europe) by YOUR government, which was why many of the so-called 'student leaders' ended up in your country.
b) the guy in front of the tank was NOT crushed as most people assume. The tank actually stopped in front of him and his friend pulled him aside. There are historical footage here on CZcams if you are interested.
c) Since Beijing is the capital, it was almost impossible to hide any eye witness accounts given the large number of foreign diplomats and to date, many of these foreign diplomats (even from countries not usually friendly to China) have publicly stated that they did NOT witness any large scale massacre. In fact, the students ended up killing up more police and army soldiers who were trying to exercise maximum restraint against their own countrymen.
d) If a similar protest were to happen in your country today and the protestors showing the same level of violence and aggressiveness against the law enforcement people, most of these rebel leaders will most likely be shot rather than staying alive and go to exile and continuing to badmouth their own country.
e) I am not from China but just someone who also learned and lived through that part of history from another Asian country (Singapore) who actually have greater access since many of us are bilingual (speak and read both English and Mandarin) are so, are able to access a wider range of news and information that the western mainstream media.

I was a middle school student living in Beijing during what you called the “Tiananmen massacre”, what sticks in my head for so many years are videos and pictures of soldiers who were pull out of the tanks, tortured, beaten and burned to death, whose charcoaled and deformed bodies hanged on the pedestal bridge just because they are at the beginning ordered to hold their fire. It’s the first time of my life to see such a brutal scene. And many of those soldiers are even younger than those university students. Things are out of control after that and soldier are allowed to open fire. Many civilians got shot. Years later I saw some data said more soldiers dead in that event than civilians, but more civilians got wounded than soldiers. I cannot say the data I saw are true, same on any data from the western media. But at least I saw part of the story which were hidden by the western media for so many years.

💖The door studs on the gates of the Forbidden City are typically arranged in nine rows and nine columns. This layout carries deep cultural and symbolic meanings: 1.)Numerical symbolism: In traditional Chinese culture, nine is considered the largest yang number, representing supremacy and perfection. "Nine returning to one" also symbolizes unity and completeness. 2.)Symbol of imperial power: The 81 door studs (9x9) demonstrate the emperor's supreme authority. In ancient times, the phrase "Lord of nine five" was used to describe the emperor. 3.)Cosmological view: Ancient Chinese believed there were nine layers of heaven and nine regions on earth. This arrangement reflects the traditional cosmological view. 4.)Auspicious meaning: In Chinese, the pronunciation of "nine" (jiǔ) is similar to "long-lasting" (jiǔ), expressing wishes for longevity and eternity. 5.)Practical function: Besides symbolic meaning, the dense arrangement of studs also reinforced the doors, enhancing their defensive capabilities. So this sepcial design reflects both the numerological mysticism in Chinese traditional culture and the wisdom of ancient craftsmen. It's not just a decoration, but a microcosm of ancient Chinese culture, philosophy, and political thought.

Guys people usually don't eat the duck skin alone. You need to first wrap it up with other ingredients and sauce like a taco.
13:20 no , basically that’s because the food stands and the line would block the sidewalk. So they are all moved to some certain areas.
Ah, good to know, thanks for sharing 🙌
I'm from Singapore, in early 50s - 70s, lots of street food stalls (hawkers) . Our Govt built 'hawker centres' with installed with water, electricity & gas supply. Also proper seating areas for patrons. They are cleaner & more hygienic. That's from the mid 70s till today. We have even more such hawker/food centres in our housing estates.
Looks like another nice couple visiting china....subbed
Aww, thank you so much, this is such a nice comment 😃
22:28 that is a whole bookstore, places like that are common in China
Nice seeing you visiting my birthplace I had not been to for eight years.
Aww, thank you. It was a wonderful experience for us and we wished we could have stayed longer. Hope you will be able to visit soon too ✈️🇨🇳
希望你再次到达中国看看😊
You guys killed me with that ducky, that was one genuinely hilarious moment lol. An overseas Chinese here just watched and subscribed!
Glad you enjoyed the ducky moment! 😂 But, for real! It’s so GOOOD! Thanks for subscribing! Hope you enjoy more of our vlogs! ☺️
@@ThePassportCoupleYou’re welcome, been watching some of your videos and I love them!
I just wanna add one thing that passing food from chopsticks to chopsticks isn’t really “right” in Asian table manners though but it’s okay in this case becuz it made one hilarious moment like that one happened lol!
The military isn't commonly seen on the streets of China. What you saw was exceptional due to being the political core, akin to Capitol Hill or the WH. I could be wrong but I think they're more secret service and ceremonial honour guard than actual PLA troops. In China, general police are literally called Public Safety officers and don't carry firearms. They have special police units that do carry firearms and paramilitary police units.
Regarding TS, I suggest doing your own research with an open mind and not rely on Wiki (a poor source of info). When I did, there wasn't much quality info and I couldn't conclude what exactly happened but of confirmed pieces of info, I found the "accepted" narrative to be dishonest to say the least.
Is hoisin sauces for the pancakes for the roast ducks sliced.😊
Thanks for sharing that, it was de-licious 😃
In winter, the temperature sometimes below -10c
Regarding the street food and pollution..(specially in Beijing or northern provinces) is that bbq is a huge cultural thing in the north and the street hawkers use charcoal which emits carbon into the atmosphere, majority of their carts were Diesel operated which increases not just air but noise pollution as well
Ive once lived in Beijing for 3 years , and i miss it so much ( not including some really weird local traditional beijing snacks) .
Anyways , welcome to Beijing , and wish you a pleasant journey and all the best😁
Thank you for saying hello. Beijing was amazing, so we can understand why you miss it. Can't wait to explore more of China ✈️🇨🇳
Fantastic video! Your adventure in Beijing was so engaging, especially the Kung Fu class and exploring Tiananmen Square. If you enjoyed Beijing, you should definitely add Yunnan to your travel list! The stunning landscapes and unique cultural experiences there are unforgettable. Can’t wait to see more of your travel stories!
Thank you so much, we had a great time and can't wait to come back to explore even more of China. Thank you for the recommendations 🙌
Glad the waiter show you guys how to eat the Peking duck. While I was watching I saw you guys eating the duck by itself. I say Oh no that’s not the proper way to eat. I wish I was there to help. 😂😂
The waiter was very kind and helpful 👏 And thank you for wanting to help, that is so kind 😃
中国很多美食😊
Have fun in China!! There's so much more to explore.
There's so much to explore. We really enjoyed it and would love to see even more ✈️🇨🇳
中国最美的自然景观是四川省的九寨沟。
瀘沽湖,稻城亞丁
和新疆内蒙古比不了

No, what is truly beautiful are the unknown mountains and lakes in western Sichuan.
Please don't use this “most” word easily to compare different sceneries. Different landscapes has their different beauty. They can't be compared.
The gift looks like an embroidery folk art piece (human artwork), a very good piece to keep!
Yes, I’ll definitely keep it! I’m so touched by it! I love it!! 🥰
If people are just like this couple here, so positive on everything, I am also one of those that believe in “things happened for a reason” another one I believe in “if it’s yours it will always be yours”. Others faced with some frustration like their tickets and got stuck in Tiananmen Square would have complained.
The lie about the "massacre" must be the most well kept secret about recent modern chinese history. 😂😂😂
I can't believe that he actually said that it was shown as a thing in his textbook, truly infuriating .
China in a nutshell: "We can't make or hide it, so we fake it."
Chinese people know just don’t want to talk about it. Understandable as you probably don’t hear Americans talk often about the Massacre at Wounded Knew or Ludlow Massacre. How many Americans know about Tiananmen vs how many know the Forbes and Perkins families got their wealth from selling opium in China, or FDR’s mother grew up in Hongkong accompanying her father who was also a major opium trader in China at the time?
Beijing yogurt is the best. Lamb kabobs for street food. The Forbidden City was forbidden when I was there due to the 70th anniversary of the PRC. Very safe and incredible infrastructure. The people are friendly and helpful. China should be on everyone’s bucket list IMHO.
11:56 That Chinese girl is so cute!
She was amazing, wasn't she?💛
I wished someone brought you to some local authentic food places and show you around to appreciate the local food more.
Thanks for the suggestion! We'll definitely make sure to explore more local authentic food places next time 😊
There is a Chinese legend saying: a dragon has 9 sons. So number 9 represents the King. The kings of China love to have 9 objects in many fields in architecture
Lovely video! Great picture and sound quality! Although I have to say, that little ducky deserved a better fate. lol I couldn't stop laughing with you guys. It just kept getting worse and worse!
Aww, thank you for the kind comment, we really appreciate it 😃 But you are right, the ducky deserved a much better fate 🤣 It was a slippery slope 😅
That’s not how locals eat it. We usually dip the duck in the sauce and then wrap it up with the pancake.
Many numbers in Chinese have special associations like
Three - life/birth
Four - death
Eight - lucky/wealth
Nine - long
Have fun and enjoy your China trip!
Thank you so much, we are having a lot of fun 😃
Love your filter, makes everything look so nostalgic…
thank you!! ☺️
The Chinese respect their national flag. They are patriotic. They are NOT nationalistic.
Amazing place with rich history
Totally agree, it was a great place to travel to ✈️🇨🇳
China really is the most advanced country!
We had a great experience
Welcome to China. Please spend more time here and you will love her more and more.
Thank you so much!! We’re excited to explore more and experience all that China has to offer 😊🇨🇳
Wow, even you got a few things wrong (such as why the stall was banned, etc.), you two (especially the beautiful lady) do know quite a lot about China. That's something very rare for people from the West.
You even know 'Great Hall of the People', that's crazy.
All the best!
Haha it’s not pecking duck, it’s Peking duck
