  • People Warned Me Not To Visit Rural China - 1st time in rural China, near Xi'an
Chinese New Year in Xi'an, China ➡️ • I'm Overwhelmed! Chine...
I have been to several cities in China, but never been to rural China. Time to change that. My friends ‪@JetLagWarriors‬ and I decided to leave the city center of Xi'an, China and go explore. Without a big plan in mind, we just took the metro to the last station and then a taxi into the mountains. So, what's rural China going to be like? People told me I might not have a good time in countryside China as people might be rude, won't speak any English and it might even be dangerous there for foreigners. I want to see it with my own eyes and find out the truth about rural China. Join us!

@@KenAbroad Next time let the Chinese person speaks into your mobile to translate what she said from Mandarin to English and there won't be any miscommunication. I don't see the point of speaking to them in English when it's obvious they won't understand you, only giving perplexed look. They, on the other hand, may think you are one of those foreigners working in China and so may speak some Mandarin and it's indeed true of those foreigners studying or working there, some of them can speak Mandarin very well. So as a non-Mandarin speaking tourist, the first thing you might want to do is whip out your mobile and launch the trans app.

If you come to the east of China such as Jiangsu, Zhejiang, especially in south of Jiangsu Province, you will find the countryside in these areas has a perfect infrastructure. Almost all villages are connected by national and provincial roads. I lived in a village in the south of Jiangsu Province. The council has invested a lot of money in us to build convenient facilities, including hospitals, schools, parks, and even a big shopping square. Actually I am living in the UK and I've been to a lot of places in Europe but I can't really find any better infrastructure than my home village.❤❤❤

The reason for the "no-pictures" sign at the lake is probably because there will be so many people during the peak tourist season, and the railings at the lake are not very high, making it easy for people to fall into the lake due to pushing. This sign is a pre-warning and can be used when the crowd gathers too much, and it will have staff from the scenic spot to guide tourists in this place.
There are so many people in China's scenic spots during the peak season that you can't even imagine them, so extra safety measures are required, even if these measures seem unreasonable in the off-season.

When you ran into the vending machine at the lake, I was trying to figure out if the vending machine was simply not working or if there was something wrong with your payment method. You know that Alipay only supports debit card payments in many cases. If you only have a credit card attached, many places won't be able to use it. When the locals can't handle it either, I know it's just going to be a machine problem. By the way, standing on the snow looks dangerous. Please be safe when climbing. The combinations of extremely modern cities to thousands of years of heritage sites, lots of different cultures, food, heaven-like mountainous landscapes - the best you can experience and you can spend years in exploring and still be surprised by what you see.

That's why China has X-rays check and security check in their subway and HSR stations...
"One person has been killed and five others injured in a shooting at a subway station in New York City, authorities in the United States’s biggest city have said.
Gunfire broke out after an argument between two groups of teenagers at a train platform in the Bronx on Monday (February 13) as office workers and students were beginning their evening commute, according to authorities.
Police said a 34-year-old man was killed, with the wounded including a 14-year-old girl, a 15-year-old boy and a 71-year-old.
Police said they were searching for at least one shooter, although they had not ruled out the possibility that more than one person was involved." ( February 13th 2024)
