How to. pronounce SeouI... I heard it called similar to the word "soul", but not sure really😊
Pronounced like "Soul" in USA, Love watching your videos as you give great experiential info.

Soul in english @@dreamer1066
Soul in english Ken, great to be sharing Korea with you Ken cheers... Australia 🌏🦘
people are so polite to you because you always show respect to all.and such a great example of the country you were born in.
Seoul South Korea amazing City ❤❤
Yes you're right. Ken is very kind and respectful wherever he will go.
Koreans are nice people. Great country to visit
Koreans are very helpful. love them
26:16 The waffle lady is so sweet! And I agree, everyone in Seoul is incredibly friendly. Our experience there was heartwarming.
In fact, Koreans are only friendly to whites and East Asians
You should download the Naver map app. It will give you all bus and train times and stops across Korea. Its much more detailed than Google maps.
Kakao maps is more foreigner friendly
The best and most exciting part of Ken's vlog is when he first arrives in a new country. He tries to find out new things, such as where to buy train or bus tickets, how to find directions to the hotel, withdrawing money from an ATM, and learning some vocabulary based on the country he is visiting.
The lady selling noodles at the market was saying;
oh you wanna film these? chicken feet, braised pig's trotters
I'm boiling anchovy broth hot for your noodle soup now.
I only put a tiny bit of spicy chili peppers for you just in case.
such a sweet lady, I loved how she just spoke in Korean with confidence 😊
enjoyed watching the first day in Korea video, excited to watch more of your Korea uploads.
Hi Ken. Everywhere you go you seem to have no trouble meeting friendly people and almost always have a positive experience interacting with the locals. I think it is because you are friendly and outgoing yourself and people respond to that. We can all benefit by behaving like you when we travel. 😊
You remind me when I arrived in Korean 1998 and left 2018. I didn't have a clue what I was doing for the first year, but it grew on me. Have fun and enjoy yourself it's a great country.
한국에서 좋은 추억 만들고 가세요.
🙏
You hv a very likeable personality, so whichever country you visit will not pose a problem...enjoy your stay in South Korea & look forward to yr upcoming video clips.
Thank you 😊
Everyone is so helpful at any time. I was there a few weeks ago for the first time and fell in love with Korea and the people.
Inshallah One day I'll go to Seoul, South Korea ❤❤❤
47:27 I’m a Korean living in Seoul, and this is the first time in my life I've seen old men arm wrestling in the street in a video. LOL, it’s so funny! You’ve witnessed a very unique and special scene. Congratulations! 😂
51:19 The guy said his son is studying drawing in Frankfurt so they are surprised and happy to see German guy.
People who are polite and kind to others will always meet good people and good things.
My favorite type of video, Ken pulling up to a new country with no preparation
For public transportation in Asian countries just buy the transport cards, it’ll save you time figuring out stuff. Just scan the card and be done with it. You can always recharge later and if you have a balance left just return the card and you’ll get your money back. Easy peasy.
The old lady making the noodles looks so nice 🙂and the gentlement treating you to noodles what a magnificent first meal! I'm really interested in your next Seoul videos Keep up the good work!
팔씨름하는 아저씨들 ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
재밌게 잘 봤습니다

Welcome to Korea❤
Thank you 🙏
Man I love Korean people, I really want to travel there next year, even started to learn to speak the language. It's so motivating to watch your video!
welcome to Korea❤
have a good day❤
@@ChengC289 Thanks, have a wonderful day!
잘보고가요 진짜 로컬로 여행하시네
For the vending machine, you need to select the drink first and pay the bills
Also the person on the 10,000 bill is King Sejong, the greatest king of South Korea 😊
Ah I was looking for this answer
only 1000won banknote is useful.
I think he invented, reformed the Korean language.
@@Kikuyo2 To be precise, King Sejong and his scholarly officials invented “characters,” not language. Hanja, the Chinese characters that were basically used to write Korean up to that time, are ideograms. It's basically like hieroglyphs written on Egyptian murals. They say “eagle,” but when they say it in writing, they are drawing a “picture of an eagle.” King Sejong the Great invented a phonetic alphabet system that resembles pronunciation, and that is the Korean alphabet called “Hangeul” that Koreans use.
Koreans are very enthusiastic
Great video..made me giggle when you were trying to find your way out of the station..the people were so helpful but it was so complicated!
Look forward to more 👍
I think the most interesting vlog is when we are able to chat with local residents or new people, I hope you have a pleasant trip, bro...
True, that's why I like Ken channel so much😊. Chatting to locals is a great travel experience, and Ken has unique skill and is doing very well on this 👍
Hey Ken, the restaurant you ate at was anchovy based noodle soup. She said she added only a little bit of red spice just in case it was too spicy. You should consider using a translating app so they can understand you without getting frustrated. Enjoy your time in my motherland. Be careful around the drinking culture there 😂
I may be wrong, but at the steps when you see the sloping metal ramps, I think you can glide your luggage there while going up or down the staircase so that you dont have to carry your luggage. Ive been to Seoul 3 times and I love the hospitality of the Seoul people.
If you are referring to the part where he went down the stairs and back up on the other side, those are really there to make it easier to carry your bicycle up/down the stairs. I guess you can you use them for luggage but seeing how steep they were makes me think it would be difficult with luggage but I never tried it. There should have been ramps/conveyor belts for luggage at the train station exits so I am surprised to see there weren't any where he got out. I guess he went out the wrong exit.
Kindness to strangers is rare these days- you're blessed and kam sa ha mi da too to the generous man :) have fun and enjoy your time there!
I like the honesty in your videos.
10,000 won is King Sejong who created Hangul, the Korean language. There are four seasons in Korea and it is very cold except for summer, and the temperature is around 19-25 in spring.
South Korea is incredible! And the people are sooo friendly! It's in my Top 5 favorite destinations! You gotta go to Gwangjang Market for authentic Korean Food
no this market is not very recommended, go to majang meat market
Ever since it got popular, chinease people have basically take over and are selling "authentic" korean food.
It looks very stressful s.korea airports. I think I'll skip s.korea. and go to North korea where its nice. Peaceful and plenty of freedom.

A part of my Soul is still in Seoul!! My best friend and I did our first couples trip with our husbands and stayed in Myeongdong and explored neighboring towns. Glad you had a heartwarming experience with that beautiful couple. Looking forward to your next video!!
Welcome to Korea! When I visited first as a Korean in Germany, I never forgot that German so kind and nice. Everything is new and strange here in Korea , but very impressive that you feel in a positive way
7:50 세종대왕 입니다

That was remarkable. Great place to visit with friendly, welcoming locals ❤👍🏻

Was looking forward to your SK series Ken, looks good!💪🏻 Very kind people, wow!
Many korea videos are coming 💪
@@KenAbroad awesome! 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Wow the Koreans are reserved but opened up as soon as you smile …
Lovely people! Can’t wait to go 🇰🇷
U knows well about that :)
Great video! Loved the guys arm wrestling and the lady taking away their table 😂
That was funny 😁
7:50 Hello, welcome to korea! I am korean myself, and that man is king sejong who was the 4th king of josun dynasty, which was one and last of many dynasties in this small land. He created Hangeul, the language we use to this day, just for the poor people because back by then, we had been using chinese characters and they were very hard to use. The language we spoke didnt have any letter to write down so our ancestors had been using chinese characters only to write down things. And king sejong made hanguel. All people in korea look upon him. I remember he lived in about 13 or 14th century
fck racism korean...!!!
7:54 The man in the 10,000won cash is King sejong, who had invented the Korean own letter "Hangeul"
He is one of the most important and respected person in overall Korean history ;)
South Korea is a great country. The people there are very friendly.
In fact, Koreans are only friendly to whites and East Asians
What I like about this video is that you chose a random local area to stay in. Every other vlog stays in the same famous tourist areas and visits the same places to eat. If you did that, you wouldn't have gotten that interaction with the locals. Looking forward to your next Korea video!
Temples in the mountains and beaches. I like the nature in Korea.
I’m Korean, we use Naver Maps more than Google Maps. Google Maps sometimes doesn‘t work well. Please use Naver Maps
korean sucks
Korea is a country that has copied a lot of things from China. That's why you don't feel fresh. But Japan has its own unique culture. Welcome to Japan.
@@sdfsfahh The reason why Google map is limited in Korea is that Google doesn't store map data in Korea's Datacenter, which violates Korean data security law which made because of North Korea. You proud Chinese country also banned Google, CZcams, Instagram, Facebook, so on everything, good luck living in there! lol.
@@sdfsfahh 🦠
@@sdfsfahh That's not true. It's not copied, it's derived. China, Japan, and Korea have many similar curtures. Cuz, in the past, there were many cultures derived from China to Korea and Japan. You can find out by looking at the text they use.
Korea used to use Chinese characters, but King Sejong invented Hangul and now uses them. But you can still see Chinese characters in some places in Korea. And Japan still uses Chinese characters, but mainly hiragana and katakana, which are variations of them.
The funny thing is China is copying the cultures of many countries these days lol
Anyway, what I want to say is each country has its own unique cultures. Don't denigrate other countries to praise your country.
such an entertaining video! thoroughly enjoyed the 58mins
Happy to hear that 😊
Hey Ken! Enjoy your trip through Korea 🇰🇷 It's an exciting place!
Thanks a lot Zane 🙏
😊I'm a Chinese,it's your chinese fans, Although China and korea the political relations between are not good, but the common people are kind.
In your video, the Korean uncle and grandmother are really friendly. I hope you can have a wonderful travel experience in Korea❤
So nice seeing you and your traveling experiences again. Have a good time.
Really enjoy watching ken abroad, you're interaction with the locals, is a pleasure too watch. Superb stuff.

Hi Ken, I am from India and i wanted to say that your speaking style and accent is very catchable compression to other foreigners.
So what do you think of Ken”s comments on India😂😂

Korea is one the best countries I have ever visited. It blew me away way from the start and kept getting better. Much love to Korea and all the Koreans from Macedonia 🇲🇰❤️🇰🇷

I don't know why, but I really enjoyed this one. Dale Phillip style. It works, keep doing it.
Now you’re travelling like me, no planning, no hotel… just arrive and work it out ✈️ 😂
Hey you're here
I have watched your videos
As a korean I hope you spend a good time here in SK.
About the vending machine rejecting your notes, just like the instance you faced in Shanghai, it says "천원권만 사용 가능합니다" which means "it only takes 1000KRW notes".
my chinese gf really enjoyed the scene in shanghai btw and realized how unfriendly things are to tourists who can't read chinese characters. Guess things are similar to an extent in SK as well haha.
EDIT:
Just realized your hotel is the building I and my gf used to frequent to have chinese hotpot haha.
and the 'god bium' yogurt drink you got from the CVS, it's good for your intestines. ladies usually get this for bowel movement.
very interesting .People are so kind😎
Great Ken! See wat u hve in store for us. Happy exploring!! 👍🙏

Awesome video ❤❤

I hope to go there next spring...I really enjoy your videos
I’m from Korea and currently living in Seoul. I really enjoyed your video and was happy to know you had a great experience here. The noodle mentioned in your video is Janchigooksu, which is directly translated as ‘party noodle’ made with anchovy broth. Looking forward to your next episode.
Boss of a noodle shop: It's noodles made with anchovies. They sell seasoned chicken feet and pork tails. I'll do it for you in a minute.
One of my favourite vlogs. I really enjoyed watching this.
I just teared up at the welcoming of the couple who paid for your meal. Nothing like sharing a meal and drink with new friends
That was such a special experience. I won't forget that 🙏
중국은 구글도 안되는대
@@KenAbroad _ I was there from Nov- Feb (first time ever there or any country outside of US, in 40+ years). I had issues first week and was unwell for 2 months (perhaps mild case of covid(?)).
But, I am not surprise with the reception you are getting_ That human interactions were the best thing I felt and cherished even with so many issues I faced_ They are the kindest and caring ppl I have met in a long time, old/young, English speaking or not they try to help. I made bunch of friends, from 18yr old in the nearby Paris Baguette store (you will see them everywhere) to a 72 year old gentleman in the Highrise I stayed where he managed the waste area in the basement level.
Cherish it all, man!
M_^()^
You could still have given her a tip mate :)
@@pimesonhadron _ YOU are absolutely correct, friend! -
Personally, I tipped any chance I got (or I should say when was accepted _They do not expect tip, one of the first things I learned in my research prior to the trip).
In some, not all, restaurants more were accepting. And whenever any of them, no matter where I was, didn't accept I got them things like >> slice of a nice strawberry cake (you have to be there to appreciate their love for quality pastries and cakes), flower, drinks, name it.
Some of them felt it was not real (getting something from a foreign visitor), surprised yet appreciative.
I was just paying forward for the kindness I was granted by the ones I met in my disturbing first week whom I knew I would not see again, since the better Airbnb was outside of Gangnam, location of the first and disastrous Airbnb! Plus, it was my first ever trip to another country and I wanted to appreciate all those and things that made my journey easier and affirming the human interaction, which I cherished most!
Sorry, this got a bit long_ Peace.
M_^()^
what a awesome first experience in Seoul. Nice video, ejoyed it =)!
Happy to hear that😊
I’ve been hoping to see you head to South Korea or Japan for a while now, great to see you exploring Seoul. Very much looking forward to the rest of the series!

This video was indicative of why you are a success on CZcams as you travel from country to country. This was a very enjoyable video to watch and very heartwarming.
