I watched one of your video from about a year ago, where you talked about your decision to buy a narrow boat. I'm in Australia, so we don't have canals, or anything like it. But what caught my eye watching these videos was the scenery, and the laid-back idea of cruising. I started watching "Foxes Afloat" around 3 years ago, and what I liked about Colin and Shaun's channel was the amount of history they added to their narrative. I'm sure they got it straight out of the Nicholson guide, but it certainly added a "how, why where, and when" to the video, which made it even more interesting. Love the channel. Keep doing what you are doing. And don't forget to get the paint out.

Is there a down side to being a continuous cruiser? How to banks, credit card companies etc cope with you not having a permanent address, also what happens if you need to see a GP? It does look like a great lifestyle but just wondering if there’s a downside

Wouldn't you think that the hire companies would instruct the new boaters to drive slower. It seems so common a complaint from others. June has been a rotten month, and so far July is proving the same. Hopefully, you all get some of the few days we got here in the midlands. Toodle pips!

It looks like the humidity was high and the wind was blowing very strongly and it was getting cold but you enjoyed it so much it looks like the video is very nice we enjoyed it very much

Sorry you missed the Museum. We were there last year for two days and thoroughly enjoyed exploring the many buildings and fantastic exhibits. Had no trouble although someone appeared to be permanently moored on the water point. We double moored whilst we filled up and scrambled over the other boat. Not our fault if we disturbed anyone. Tip for Chester Locks: read the instructions!!!!!! I didn't. Got the water levels wrong going down and nothing works. Had to refill all the locks and start again as per the clearly written and clearly displayed instructions. Everyday is an adventure on the cut!!

I totally feel your pain. I have Acrophobia too. I always tell people, I'm not scared of falling, I'm scared of the sudden stop at the bottom !!!

Sorry you had problems at Ellesmere Port, we have been several times with no trouble at all. Perhaps stay in the museum it would have been safe.

Lot of travellers living around E.Port

Such a lovely canal - we cruised to Chester many times. We moored at Anderton so it was a great cruise always. We moored before the lock just before The Old Oak and walked up to Beeston Castle. On the way down the most incredible storm broke and the only cover was a row of oak trees. Once it slowed we made a dash back to the boat. Having dried off and into dry clothes in less than half an hour I have a photo of my John sitting on the towpath cleaning our copper in brilliant sunshine and clear blue sky. You will really love the rest of the cruise to Chester ( our favourite city) Make sure to do the City Walls walk it is fantastic
