- Ok so it's maybe a little clickbait, but when a 25 tonne widebeam hits your home it's still not a nice experience!
Hi, we are Rozzie & Rob with our lovely cockapoo's Ralph & Rosie. We have given up the rat race, sold our house and have bought a new narrowboat, Thistle & Rose. Our vlogs are showing our learns as we go from bricks and mortar to life on the water. Join us as we literally learn the ropes of becoming continual cruisers on England's 2500 miles of canals & rivers.
Our vlogs are ideal if you have ever wondered what it's like to live on a narrowboat or are considering to make the leap and buy your very own narrowboat. There's always some humour, lots of mistakes and always a few drinks being poured. Subscribe to our channel, ask us a question or just watch our videos as there's something for everyone.
Our music is from CZcams Library, Artist.i.o & Storyblocks via Clipchamp. - Zábava
Well done to you two, for seeing new places and visiting new pubs, I love joining in on your adventures it makes for a relaxing timeout :)
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching ☺️
Have to say guys only very recently found your channel. But I’m working through your vlogs so quickly. Going to be gutted when I catch up and I have to wait for weekly updates.
Welcome aboard! Thank you for joining us! ☺️
great video thank you ❤👍
Thank you ☺️
Just in the last four days the snow has finally melted off the driveway and the road here. Spring is now here called "breakup" or "mud season". We are all very happy. Thanks for taking us along.
Lovely! Thanks for watching ☺️
Great vlog again and love the banter and pub stops!
Thank you so much ☺️
We ate at The Cape Of Good Hope. Great fish and chips. We will be there later in the year. Just enjoyed a curry at Stoke Bruene. Loved the vlog,Take care.
Thank you!! Awh jealous of the curry! Love that place, take care ☺️
Oh, your doggies are just adorable!
Thank you ☺️
Our cockapoo used to love a bath, but hated it when the hairdryer came out afterwards! Used to turn into a game of chase. Great vlogs keep up the good work.
Our dogs play chase with the hoover and bark at it! 🤣 thanks for watching
Great to have you back again. Out of interest is the Cape of Good Hope run by South Africans ? Looka nice there
Thank you!
It was a great pub, really not sure who runs it. 🍻
Thanks. Looks like fun. ✌🏻👊🏼
Thank you for watching ☺️
Hi
Hope you are all well?
Me and my Wife are massive fans and love following your journey ! I have a question tho 🤣🤣 are you going to be at Crick boat show we would love to say hi and have a picture taken with you??
Paul and Caz from Clitheroe
Thank you! That’s lovely of you to say. I’m afraid we aren’t going to Crick this year 😞 we have friends visiting us that weekend.
Hope to catch you another time ☺️
Well
It was not a crash as the title states but a very gentle bump
Still an unpleasant experience. Thanks for watching 👍🏼
Wow those towpaths are bad. Definitely not missed the mud. Luckily we’ve only had a couple of bad ones. 😊
Yeah they have been awful, getting better now though thankfully! Thanks for watching guys xx
Surely a widebeam that new would have bow thrusters
You’d think!
lol give up Rob .. if you said canal water was wet she would say it's dry 😂
🤣🤣 thanks for watching
Enjoying the vlog and heh ho up pops the motto... DoG former Delta House Munster 1982 to 1990
Our paths must have past then. I was Asqn in Munster 88-91. 👍🏻 or glory ☠️🍻
Your videos are wonderful, I enjoy watching them and seeing everything you show all of us.
Could you tell me what map book you are using in this video?
I live in the US and the UK Canals are fascinating.
What continuous cruisers have to do everyday and how all of you cope with both your daily challenges and the unplanned challenges the boat can present you with at any time. WOW!! All of you are a very hardy, hard working group of people. Thank you
Thank you! We sometimes use Canal & River Trust maps, you can access on their website, but when we cruise we use nicholsons guide books. Thank you for watching we really love that you follow us! Xx
I just noticed that you were wearing a 17/21st Lancers jacket . I was in the 14/20th Hussars (now KRH) but Heh I love your vlogs and will continue to watch 🙂
Glad you enjoyed the vlog. Maybe our paths crossed, I was was also JLR in 87-88? 🍻
@@thenarrowboatgoodlife Sadly our paths did not pass, I was a JLR in 70-71 (I am now 70 myself lol 🙂. I am a Mancunian but have lived the last 40 yrs in Germany. Keep the vlogs coming, I luv em .
Question: Are bow and stern thrusters too expensive to put on these oversized expensive boats?
It did have bow thrusters, and yes they are expensive. Not sure it would’ve helped much 🙄
Thanks for watching ☺️
Hardly a crash 😂 I found it tough to hear where you moored for the pub trip?
Not nice to watch happen to our home.
Was it Long Itchington?
Thanks for watching 👍🏼
@@thenarrowboatgoodlife i know, ive been hit a few times while moored, mostly people are very apologetic but not always, Long Itchingdon looked v nice, im in Cropredy today, open day the marina tomorrow apparently!
Xx
Thanks
That part of the GU might have been widened in the 1930s bit it wasn't designed for widebeams.
That fatarse just shouldn't have been there.
Agreed thank for watching 👍🏼
CLICKBAIT!! It “bumped” silently and “no damage was caused”!! 😉
Not a nice thing to see happen to our home and the paint was scratched
Thanks for watching
Incidentally were you moored right next to the entrance to the lock? This may have contributed to the problems with the widebeam as it tried to line up, just being a devils advocate.
We were not moored up, we had moved over to the side in a pound between two locks to let the wide beam through into the lock above.
Thanks for watching
@@thenarrowboatgoodlifeyou r wife walks with a spring in her step. Just found your channel, I like it.
They were tied up on the lock landing, where boats should be when waiting for a lock.
That fatarse boat just shouldn't have been there.
That bit of the GU wasn't designed for widebeam boats.
