- This week we take our #narrowboat through Birminghams historic BCN New Line, stay near Gas Street basin before moving on through Wolverhampton and finally finish up in Brewood in only 2 days!
Hi, we are Rozzie & Rob with our lovely cockapoo's Ralph & Rosie. We have given up the rat race, sold our house and have bought a new narrowboat, Thistle & Rose. Our vlogs are showing our learns as we go from bricks and mortar to life on the water. A lovely video, thank you. We live in Japan, my better half is Japanese and my children are half Japanese........ The UK is an incredibly beautiful, for the most part. However, my tribe cannot get over how dirty the cities and many of the towns appear. The graffiti on every single space, there must be some out here but we have never seen it and I have been all over Japan. However, this doesn't stop my better half wanting me to retire,,,,,and to buy a narrow boat....Maybe, one day, if we are lucky!! Thank you so much for your entertaining vlogs. We enjoy them very much.

Completely agree as a local from Wolverhampton.. it is well and truly a shit hole. I'm getting my own narrow boat soon, you've almost put me off as I'll be mooring in the centre of Wolverhampton 😢😂.

Hiya folks... I've been binge watching your videos today and your on your way to Birmingham on the north canal... You're trying to make it to Birmingham in one day and unfortunately it's absolutely persisting down with rain on you... And not being a narrow boater I watched Rob get very wet piloting the boat today and I don't know if this is a daft question or not... But why haven't you made a little bracket next to the tiller to hold a golfing umbrella rather than standing there getting wet???
We have tried! We bought one, but it is was not fit for purpose.

Another good video, I have to agree with you regarding Wolverhampton, did the 4 counties ring some 15 years ago and the Wolverhampton stretch was full of drug dealing mess needles etc and can’t imagine that it has improved, keep the videos coming 👍

Parts of Birmingham are certainly confronting. Well worth the effort though is the Black Country Museum and you can moor very securely within the museum itself.
Another suggestion of a canal very close into Birmingham is the Stourbridge Extension Canal - there is the Delph Flight set around a gorgeous setting and there are some beautiful gardens right on the canal.

We are just back from our 10 week overseas holiday. We got to see some great canals while we were staying in Norfolk. Do you guys ever travel on those waterways at all ?
