- Five years ago, we invested our entire life savings in a 500-year-old abandoned estate located two hours north of London. We soon discovered why no one else had even made an offer - the crumbling cottages, stables, outbuildings, gardens and grand 20-room Manor House were all hidden under a blanket of overgrown ivy, shrubs and trees. To add to the challenge, we recently acquired another crumbling 20-room Georgian Manor House that was once part of the original estate. We do nearly all the work ourselves and - although the journey is far from over - enjoy the remarkable before-and-after reveals and transformations that five years makes!

My father was a Master builder, specialising in 15th and 16th C restoration. He was building still until he fell off a shed roof in his late eighties, then sadly his health declined. He would have loved to see your restoration of all the buildings and gardens. All done so tastefully and decorated so beautifully.
Then it was so lovely seeing you both as a couple. How the world is starting to change, thankfully. Back when the houses were built, the sons and daughters would have most likely been forced into marriages to ensure there were future heirs. Now thank goodness, you show how wonderful it is to choose who you love, and now to be having a son! I am so happy for you both x

Can i just say how much joy it was to see how much you respect the building's past, the heritage and history, and being true to the house. Time and time again I see renovations on old properties and the owners force the buildings into modern tastes. They rip out all the old features and destroy the remnants of the past to the point where it looses it's identity. You have gone out of your way to keep the history and heritage and it warms my heart. Restoration at its finest, cant wait to see the rest of your journey

The best of the old meets the best of the new, thru the visions and hard work of this dedicated couple. They have brought this piece of history once left to fade away to now vibrant and living... I hope that the monarchy visits them from time to time, that the children come to learn their lessons, and the local community takes notice of how fortunate they are you have this couple live amongst them. You young men have worked so hard on this place and done a wonderful job exposing/cleaning all that lovely brickwork, replacing cheap plastic gutters with original metal type that goes with the buildings..I love your paint color selections too. Cracked up at the pigeons in the chimney stack. I wouldn't mind being a maid in those quarters!! Did you work 'regular' jobs while doing all this work?
And oh my those gardens are absolutely wonderful. Be great place to hold an outdoor wedding and reception!! Also be a fantastic Bed

All our colours are from Fenwick and Tillbrook, British brand all handmade, majority of colours used are bespoke colours that we made but you can get even if you are in Canada ☺️
