- It's taken 5 weeks to get half way around the Thames Ring and we only have 2 weeks to complete the journey so we need to decide if we go onto the river Thames or turn around and do some huge days chugging to finish our journey.
Hi, we are Rozzie, Rob with our lovely cockapoo's Ralph & Rosie. We have given up the rat race, sold our house and have bought a new narrowboat, Thistle & Rose. Our vlogs are showing our learns as we go from bricks and mortar to life on the water. Back in the 70s, I once cruised the whole of the Grand Union, Oxford and Thames ring in under 2 weeks on a hire boat! This was helped by a gargantuan day from first light to dark, on which we (2 of us) went from Uxbridge to Cowroast in the one day!!!
I almost remember what it was to be young and fit!!..💪💪😊

Couldn't agree more! Since buying our first narrowboat back in the 80s our schedules have calmed down a lot, and now we're both in our 70s, things have become considerably more laid back, but we both still have to "scratch" the "canal bug" on a regular basis!!

Well done on your ultra. Have you ruled out running the 145 grand Union canal race? Its may bank holiday weekend. It’s a great race. Did it in 2018.
No ruled out no. Well done you! Have looked at the canal race series and might consider at some point. I have Robin Hood 100 in September so need to see how that goes first.
