- #narrowboat #relaxing #countryside This week we go to Nantwich and find a few small things that really make us happy.
Hi, we are Rozzie & Rob with our lovely cockapoo's Ralph & Rosie. We have given up the rat race, sold our house and have bought a new narrowboat, Thistle & Rose. Our vlogs are showing our learns as we go from bricks and mortar to life on the water. Join us as we literally learn the ropes of becoming continual cruisers on England's 2500 miles of canals & rivers.
Our vlogs are ideal if you have ever wondered what it's like to live on a narrowboat or are considering to make the leap and buy your very own narrowboat. There's always some humour, lots of mistakes and always a few drinks being poured. Subscribe to our channel, ask us a question or just watch our videos as there's something for everyone.
Our music is from CZcams Library, Artist.i.o & Storyblocks via Clipchamp. - Zábava
At last, I have caught up with all your videos watched all and enjoyed everyone . And 👍 all . xx ❤
The great, thank you! Although we find our early ones a bit cringy 😂 thanks for watching hopefully getting one out a week this year. 👍🏻🍻
Hey Guys! I remembered your name 😂 Lovely to meet you. Very inspired!!! ❤️😊 Hannah x
Lovely to have met you and your little boy, hope you all had a great holiday 👍🏻. Loving your music 🎶. 🤩. Rob & Roz ❤️
Great vlog - so glad you’re going to the Llangollen! Nantwich looks lovely. ☺️
Thank you! It's a truly amazing. Enjoying every bit of it! Thanks for watching 🍻👍🏻
Hi gang, great vlog as always, feeling a little jealous right now, we decided to go down the Thames currently in Abingdon panicking a little bit about ropes being tight flooding you know the drill but I’m sure we’re be ok, anyway enjoying the vlogs keep up the good work take care, Peter&Lea
Cheers Pete, fingers crossed for you both! The Llangollen is stunning, not sure if you've done it but if not it's a big recommendation. Take care both. Rob, Roz & barky dogs!
I really like the "pinkish red" cap and do not think it feminine at all - hey, you could send this yank one. I was actually thinking in your next #43 how good you guys overall color coordination really is. Nice. Then I looked back on a few of previous productions and thought how nice. Cheers fm Charlie.
Thank you for the compliment! ☺️
A weekly dose of peace, calm and common sense. Lovely to escape the land with you both. Chips, Cheshire cheese, carvings, caps, canals and a church. What's not to love! And that cap is awesome and very in touch...Cant wait for your bow cam video, too.
Lovely comment, thanks for watching. 🍻👍🏻
You definitely need to learn to steer the boat. It is very empowering. I do all the driving as I have a crap back and my husband does all the locks. He drives me batty as he leaves me stuck in the locks whilst he gets engrossed in conversations with all the ladies doing the locks and the lock-ins🤪🤪🤪
I mean to say lockies.
lol 😂 yes I do need to get more confident! Thanks for watching ☺️
❤❤❤
Thanks ☺️
😂🤣😂🤣. “Oh, I didn’t know we had a kettle”. That did make me laugh!!!
A lovely vlog (as are all your vlogs!). Happy cruising on the Shroppy!
Glad you enjoyed it! 👍🏼😂 thanks for watching
Writing as someone who's been living on a sailboat for the last 20 years from the Med to the South China Sea, I can tell you that your narrowboat is worth a lot more than most cruising boats we see!
Come on Rozzie, get on the tiller, you could be gliding into locks by now as you sip a cuppa made for you by Rob... You can do it! 💪😊
Thanks Liz, we’ve just subscribed to your channel - deffo inspiration for the future! Looks like a wonderful adventure!
I will take the tiller more! Promise. Would love the role reversal!
Thanks for watching 🥰
@@thenarrowboatgoodlife Awww, thanks! It's been 20 years of adventure, with some incredible moments. But just like narrowboats, things go wrong more often than you'd hope for. "Cruising is mending your boat in exotic places"... 🤓
Great video Guy's thanks for showing the lovely town 😊
You're welcome, thanks for watching. 🍻👍🏻
At 19:52 you got the pronunciation pretty close, certainly close enough. Happy cruising.
Thanks, we've been trying to get it right! 🍻👍🏻
at 5 miles an hour, good grief, 18 miles seems forever long. even 10 miles per hour. you know it's to bad it's not all automated. lol. you could get off ride bikes to the next location, shop and have the boat just show up. lol. like a car finding a parking spot while you go into the restaurant or movies, lol.
😂 Thanks for watching.
Nantwich is in the North West of England? I live on the fringes of the Lake District, and I thought this was the North West? Nantwich is about 70 miles South of me.......
Well yes Nantwich is south of you! But I lived in Carlisle for a couple of years and they called the Lake District southerners, so I guess it’s all perspective 😁. Hope you enjoyed the vlog. 🍻
Just curious, how do you transport your boat from place to place? Looks like fun.
We don’t need to transport it, all the canals and rivers are connected so we cruise the waterways.
Thanks for watching 👍🏼
That's what I figured, I was just curious. :) thanks for responding.
When you say the moorings are 24 or 48 hrs only, who knows when you arrive? Is there someone constantly checking?
No but its courteous to other users not to kick the arse out it and be fair to others. There are people that walk the canal and note boats but other boaters may notice aswell and report you.
yea, they have spotters who check the 24/48 every day, and the 14 day ones once a week or so. The rule is you have to be making a bona fide journey and you need to move to a different place. Some years ago a judge surmised, a bona fide journey has nothing to do with distance, as in his words the ferry across the mersey only goes one mile but it is a bona fide journey, and canal boats uses to go back and forth along the same sections of canal and never leave that canal ( he used the example of ellesmere port being named after ellesmere) , but another place does really does mean another parish, village or town. In reality as long as you don't take the pee and move along every 14 days for a few miles you are fine. Oh and during the winter only those 24/48 moorings switch to 14 days now unless there is a notice on them saying otherwise ( i guess they don't want to check them everyday in the winter lol)
Great question! Some good answers have been given so hope it clarifies. Thanks for watching. 🍻👍🏻
