It has to be possible, I’ve just never looked into it because it is not how I have my business set up, I own my truck. I see @boxtruckshawty come up in my feed a lot, he seems to talk about rental trucks a lot. The part I don’t understand is, if you want your own account with Amazon, your authority must be 180 days of active authority. In order to get 180 days, you would need insurance the entire time. Whose gonna pay insurance for 180 days on a rental truck they’re unable to use with Amazon. Plus, it is my understanding that if the insurance policy lapses, your countdown to 180 starts again (I could be wrong on this). In order to make it work, you’d have to either: 1. Be doing non-Amazon loads during those 180 days 2. Temporarily lease on to someone with a Amazon account while getting your own account active. Get a “bindable quote” from a few agents that meets Amazon’s insurance requirements first, that way you can see that expense coming. Year 1 insurance is expensive, mine was $40K/year😳 In the end, you’ll want your own account with Amazon. I’ve seen too many people taken advantage of (I talk about it in that video link above) and grossly underpaid by their parent company. By having your own account, you know exactly what the load pays and there is no “filter” between you and this information. 👊🏻🍻

I have a new tactic I want to try, I actually learned about it from a comment on this video but I haven’t had a hostler shift to try it on. What I plan on doing is: 1. Check out through gate, get Y-checkout 2. If hostler shift remains in queue, manually add trailer “DUMMY” outside of the gate to clear it. Of course I’m gonna take screens of each step, I’m curious to find out if the Y check-out remains after I add the dummy trailer, should I have to add the dummy trailer. If it works, this method is way better than what I have suggested in the past and I will need to make an update. Look, I know I’m a dork, who spends this much time thinking about how to leave a facility? I just want to see everyone get paid. More to come 👊🏻🍻

One word answer - Patience Long answer - I don’t do just Amazon, I understand it’s not reflected in my content but I do work for other brokers and have a few direct customers. Is Amazon great everyday? No What I wait for is when I have some free time and will wait for situations I like. I don’t ever run contracts, I never do blocks, I will wait for either the load board or spot capacity to “heat up” and cash in. I make vlogs about it all the time if you’re interested. I never try and turn bad money into good, I’m always looking to turn good money into better money. Insurance is a bear, mine has come down quite a bit Y1 - $40K Y2 - $13K Y3(now) - $11K I feel like if you can survive your first year, anything is possible. Right this second, I’m looking at a crap load board but I’m willing to be something changes over the next few hours and if it does, I’m gonna head out and get after it. 👊🏻🍻

😂 my big tough dog acting like a kitten. Throughout that night I downloaded the footage to my iPad and watched it and he’s just sitting there watching me watch it acting all sweet. If he could talk I’m sure he’d be denying that was even him in the video. “That wasn’t me, it was another dog” 😂🤣

Any suggestions for curbing this behavior? I do really want him to feel secure 100% of the time. We are together a lot when we drive but he absolutely loses it when I need to step out which is inevitable. He has toys and food in there with him. I imprinted on this dog in a weird way, I am “his person”. He could stay at home with my wife/kids but he always begs to go with me and when I leave him at home, he cries. So, I take him, but then this happens. I just want him to feel secure. I’ve had three bulldogs before and he is the first to do this.

I am actually trying to help him get better with this because over a ten hour night, we are together for 9:40 of it but I have to leave him about four times, each for about five minutes. I’ve never had a dog with abandonment issues, any suggestions?

@@STATTrucking I'd start with not saying hi or bye. Not making it a big deal. You're basically praising the behavior when you leave and when you greet him. Dogs don't understand time or language they understand tones and certain words. Stop comforting it when you come and go. That just for you. Think about it. When you play with him and you're saying you're a good boy who's a good boy he understands the tone if you have the same tone when you're greeting him or leaving. From what I've read they understand it as omg it's similar to its play time and then you close the door and leave. The dog is like wtf we're going to play. You basically trick them into thinking something that's not going to happen. Ive never had an issue with my dogs. But they were always crate trained. Crate training at early age helps with that because it teaches the dog that they can be left alone, they will be safe and you always come back. It's takes a while to fix separation anxiety and lots of consistent work. You just have to remember that they are not humans. Don't treat them that way. Love them and give them structure and they will love you even more.

One part of my brain is telling me this is hilarious while the other part knows how messed up this is and I hate to see him suffer when I’m away from him. I really want a strong, confident dog and am kind of at a loss with him because I’ve had three prior bulldogs, all raised by me (constant), and none of them acted this way. It has really made me question what did I do different/wrong with him. I’m not a dog expert and assumed he would be just like the other three. You are 100% correct, the hi’s and bye’s are for me however if it’s making him worse, I will stop. Gonna head out with him again in a couple hours and will try your method, possible video to follow. So many people are fake online and I can tell by your response you genuinely care and please know, I really appreciate that. I just wish there was a way for me to make him understand I’m coming right back. Over an average night, I have to do this about four times. So for 10 hours together, I’m absent for 20 minutes (4 X 5 minute check-in’s)

He does, but by the way he carries on, you’d think he was abused. I can’t get more than 15 steps away before he starts crying. What you don’t see here is we get the trailer parked and then go on a 45 minute walk.

Of course! It’s always changing. I promise Amazon has bad rates everyday, the trick is finding out when at what to look for to cash in on the good ones. If I showed you the San Diego load board right this second, you’d wonder how anyone could survive. I’m betting something comes up in the next few hours and will try to be available for it. If you put yourself into a situation where you can patiently wait for great loads, you’ll love it. That’s all I’ve been doing 3-5 nights/week for the past 2.5 years. 👊🏻🍻

You are 100% correct. I realized early on (the first time I lost early access) there is zero reward for a good work ethic and loyalty. Any other broker would cut you some slack if you executed 499/500 loads perfectly and had to cancel that one, but Amazon is being Amazon. Glad you got paid for yours, payment disputes can be tricky and the fact that you got paid tells me you did it right. 👊🏻🍻

First of all, I’m sorry this has happened to you, when this happened to me it was the most insidious thing that has occurred during my time with Amazon and I’m still resentful over it. The Chime meeting is not going to discuss the performance dispute process, they will let you know if you’re eligible to have the bad mark removed. To be eligible, you have to lay some groundwork. Say my insurance renewed today (7/1): I would have submitted my new insurance info ten days ago (6/21) I would have attended Chime meeting on Sunday (6/30) to verify they had everything Out of an abundance of caution, I would not have booked anything from 7/1 - 7/3 where I would attend second Chime meeting (Wed) to verify everything was ABSOLUTELY good to go. Then I would start booking new loads. My process may sound bizarre but RMIS did the same thing to me again this year. Since “I saw it coming”, I followed this exact method and though my account became temporarily suspended, I didn’t book anything and didn’t have to ask for any rejections to be removed. The call I was on had about 20 callers and the three people before me all did the same steps I mentioned and all got their rejections removed. There were people on the call who were calling in for the first time who did not. I’m definitely not trying to come across as an authority on this or make you feel like you did anything wrong, RMIS is the bad actor here. In 2023 I didn’t know which is why I make videos like these. I genuinely want to see people thrive and not fall into the same pitfalls I find myself in. I actually looking forward to making my RMIS video but want to ensure I have all my facts straight. Another suggestion I would have for anyone is to ask your insurance person to cc you on anything that is sent to RMIS on your behalf. RMIS claimed my cargo insurance was missing once and it gives you ammunition when you’re looking at the same accord form they received. I did dispute them and lost. I was pissed, ready to quit, and spent six weeks digging myself out of a hole that I still don’t feel like I belonged in. Amazon offers an office hour on Chime twice a week on Wed & Sun to clear up any insurance problems. At the office hour, you’re talking to an actual Amazon employee (get their name) and they can tell you whether or not you have the green light to work. Once they give you the green light AND if RMIS messes up (like they did to me in 2023), you can attend the next office hour and that employee has the ability to take it off your performance (what I wish I knew in 2023). If you only go to the office hour after you’ve received the rejections, they will not take them off of your performance. I know this because I have been on two of these calls in the last couple of months and there are people who get the rejections removed and people who do not. The ones getting the rejections removed are the ones who are repeat callers. The Amazon employee acknowledged that RMIS had messed up the three prior people on the call before she got to me and I made #4. RMIS is a trash company, any source for online reviews can confirm this. Personally, I’m ready to go on the warpath with them through a video but want to be sure I get everything right. Unfortunately, Amazon takes everything RMIS feeds them at face value and when they’re told there’s a problem with a carriers insurance, Amazon automatically marks that carrier as non-compliant and even though it’s Amazon rejecting the loads, it counts against you as a “carrier out of compliance” rejection. Since I started my trucking business, RMIS has alleged I have been without insurance six times. It has NEVER happened once and every time, they chalk it up to a glitch/system update/something overlooked/etc. I’ve been waiting until I could prove it and I finally have what I need, but I want to be sure I get the video perfect which is why I haven’t made it yet. To answer your other question, you are 100% correct, if Amazon cancels, retenders, redirects any portion of a trip, this is of no consequence to your performance score. When they reject a load on your behalf because they are told you are out of compliance, this can and will count against you. If you’re not familiar with the Chime office hour, let me know and I will send the info your way privately (preferable IG DM), I don’t want to post the meeting ID publicly. Glad you like it! 14 minutes is a lot to spend on leaving a hostler shift I know, but getting an invoice that’s $1800 short is something I would not wish on anyone. Paying attention to the little things is the difference between thriving with Amazon versus hating it. 👊🏻🍻

Trailer interchange sounds familiar but non-owner coverage does not. The only change I’m familiar with them making since I started with them (4/22) has nothing to do with insurance (has to do with CARB compliance). This is going to sound crazy but all I want to do is drive. I have zero interest in scaling, hiring people, etc. I admire people who choose to do these things but they just don’t interest me. Though Amazon is a big part of my “plan”, they are not everything. My content doesn’t reflect it, but I do some DAT loads and other brokers here and there (when the money is right). I have a few direct customers I’ll never make content about for obvious reasons. My fear in hiring a dispatcher comes down to trust. With ALL the work I do, I know 100% what the job is paying. Adding an entity between me and what the load is actually paying introduces a chance to be deceived. I’ll put it like this, I worked in pharmacy for years and was made to feel grateful for my wage. District managers, bosses, leadership would always hit this point home however I always knew someone was making money off my labor, I just didn’t know how much. Towards the end of my pharmacy career, I worked for a smaller, independent pharmacy where I was privy to the “numbers”. What I discovered is that for years, I was being made to feel grateful for making about $500/day when the pharmacy was bringing in about $30K/day. Now, I’m not dumb, I know that wasn’t all profit but pharmacy has higher margins than many other businesses (20-30%). I kinda vowed to myself to never let someone be an intermediary between the money I was making for the business versus the money I actually made again. Not saying every dispatcher is shady and fully understand they need to eat too, but I would require a level of transparency that I don’t believe is offered. Besides, I love the game. Getting someone to negotiate on my behalf would be giving up something I actually enjoy. 👊🏻🍻

I have zero desire to hire, manage anyone, zero desire to have a dispatcher, zero desire to have someone between me & my money..... @vroor32 a few months back I was visiting a pharmacist friend and her DM was there for a “surprise visit”. She told him I used to be a pharmacist and I was doing trucking now. He came out from behind counter, handed me his card and told me “when your ready to make some real money with CVS to give him a call”. I smiled, thank him, but didn’t have the heart to tell him because I’m sure he meant well. Honestly, I wasn’t even mad because I had his level of ignorance for almost 20 years, it’s what kept me in that game for so long. Pharmacy - thought I was crushing it Trucking - 2X💰 1/2⏰ Scaling scares me, my pride is not affected at all in saying that. I fully understand people are quick to say “scared money doesn’t make money” and they are correct but I also feel that prudent money doesn’t lose money either. End of the day, I still identify as “new” in this industry. Three years ago, I had a class C license, I have a lot of learning to do before I feel competent enough to even consider scaling. 👊🏻🍻

@@STATTrucking I was corporate analyst for far too long. Today I completed my 70hr (started last Friday, run over the weekend) and I'm back home with a gross of $10,700 on 3K miles. Fuel bill is about $2K, truck paid off, reefer paid off, insurance is $100/wk.... Own Authority for 7yrs. It would take me a whole month to make the same money in corporate.and I was off for 3 weeks in June, and will be off this entire first week of July. Corporate suits don't impress me anymore 😂

I’ve had a couple people ask me this and I am unfamiliar with failing the selfie part, it has never happened to me. It is always me in the photo and I follow their rules (no hats, no group shots, etc). I would think if anyone were to fail it would be me because I look drastically different in several pictures depending on if I go ponytail or “hair down”😁. Are they denying you from setting up your profile or once you were in their system are they accusing you of being someone else in your selfies? Curious to hear back from you.

They’re always allowing people to sign up. It definitely feels saturated at times but I’m still making money with them. My personal philosophy is to stay patient with them. If you’re desperate to run, you’ll find plenty of work. If you sit back and wait (work smarter not harder), there are still plenty of opportunities out there to make decent money with Amazon. 👊🏻🍻

I believe they block out way too much time to prevent them from having to pay detention pay. I run 53’ equipment and am usually done in 50-60% of the time they claim it will take. What I would caution anyone about is getting “comfortable” with loads finishing early and starting to book your next load close to or at the same time your current load ends. They came out with a policy change that will unfortunately punish you for doing this that goes into effect on 7/1/24. I have a video about it, will have it published soon. To answer your question, yes, if you could get that load done in 2 hours and clear it from your work queue, you would be done with it and would not owe them any additional time. 👊🏻🍻

That’s how much time they block out, I run 53’ equipment and I’m usually done in about 50-60% of the time they claim it could take. I think they block out too much time to cover themselves for not having to pay detention pay. 👊🏻👊🏻
