Hey I notice you said your authority goes active next week. I got a question if you don’t mind answering for me so obviously you need insurance on file right to keep your authority active, so my main question is that once you get that file do you have to pay insurance for those 6 months while you are waiting to get access to Amazon relay ? Or you going to start paying the insurance once you get access to Amazon relay. Thank you in advance 🙏

So you have to pay insurance and maybe find whatever load you can during the first 6 months while nobody will work with you. I've heard Amazon may not bring you onboard even after 6 months....it depends on demand. Get active now, so in 6 months there will be a demand at peak. Just my .02

One of my first videos (How To Remove Graffiti From Your Vehicle) was my deer in headlights moment. I was nervous, my anxiety was at an 11, and all I could think about was “What the hell am I doing?” After that one I decided I’m either going to quit or go “all in” and today I’m happy I stuck around. I use TruckSmarter and DAT. Surprisingly, I have had better luck with PO opportunities on TruckSmarter and DAT is what I use for a lot of my trailer required trips. I see a lot of people justifying the “upper” levels of DAT subscription, I have yet to find value in these. I’m on the basic $45/month plan and it does exactly what I want it to do. You can always upgrade but I’m getting by just fine with the “basic”. I occasionally do Uber Freight, but finding a consistent decent rate has proven to be difficult. I don’t book much from them, but I also like Loadsmart, mainly for the insight they provide. Once you set up your search criteria, they’ll email you what I believe is accurate information on what loads are going for. Assuming this information is accurate, this info is like getting the $100 version of DAT for free. 👊🏻🍻

I see two benefits from factoring: 🔴Paid quicker 🔴Non-recourse in case broker doesn’t pay My primary reason for doing it would be for non-recourse however when you really dig through those contracts, a lot of them have fine print that in my opinion, should be BOLD on line #1 with asterisks. “Non-Recourse Factoring” ** IF AFTER 180 DAYS AND EXHAUSTING EVERY ATTEMPT TO COLLECT OWED MONEY ON YOUR BEHALF, WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO COLLECT FROM YOU ** It’s just not non-recourse at that point, I’m paying 3-5% for a false sense of security. Plus, a lot of them require you to factor 100% of loads run through them which means you’re paying a percentage on your Amazon loads. They’re so easy to get signed up for but so hard to cancel. I’ve known a couple people who signed up because they thought that had to only to cancel (opt out) a couple weeks later, both had to pay early termination fees. Long story short, I’m not a fan.

When I go to Google maps and search “Amazon warehouse”, it appears there are several Amazon lockers near you, however the closest actual warehouse I see is HOU1. What I would be willing to do and I believe what would best answer your question is, send me a message over on Instagram (I have the same account over there) and I will send you some load board vids for Beaumont at different times through the day/week. This way you get a more “global view” of what really is going on and can hopefully make a more informed decision before you pull the trigger on this whole trucking thing. When I did mine, there was a site out there (just looked and couldn’t find it right now) called something to the effect of BOC3 For Free. I tried it with very low expectations and after not hearing anything for about a week, moved on to pay site (service). I believe I paid around $30 for mine. What I would caution you about are the services out there that want to charge you on ongoing (annual) fee. The BOC3 is 100% a one and done, there should not be an annual fee. If a site is trying to sell you this up front, I would not do business with them. To this day, I receive messages from what I like to refer to as “vulture companies” stating my BOC3 is expiring/expired and for a fee they can reinstate it. This is absolute crap, it does not expire and they are praying on peoples ignorance to line their own pockets. Any service should be able to provide it within one business day but if they start talking about an annual fee, please leave the encounter wondering what else they’re gonna try and screw you on. 👊🏻🍻
