Many carriers are hanging on by a thread, barely able to make ends meet and or operating on credit week after week. I may be wrong but I expect this blitz week in particular will be the final nail in the coffin for many carriers. Some carriers out here can not afford to maintain their equipment let alone, go out of service on a DOT OOS order following a failed inspection, then pay for repairs and resume operations like nothing happened. Going OOS will not only botch the CSA and cause insurance rate increases but will cost repair money and lost opportunity revenue.
It'll be interesting to see the net carrier gain/ loss when the stats come out for May.
Agree 100%.
I was looking at it from the perspective of “short term” problems but the long term fallout could be catastrophic.
I just wish Amazon would be realistic when it comes to DOT inspections, to call the time they take “carrier controlled” is obscene.

Lou walks away at the end like "FTS! I'm outta here"
Yep, didn’t realize he was escaping. Good thing I was done and it was at a pet friendly beach.
Not saying all truck drivers are good at driving but to go after the best trained drivers on the road when it’s obvious that if more tickets were handed out to the public drivers, you know the ones, out there driving while texting, speeding, putting makeup on in the mirror, they would make more money and make the roads safer.
Yep, now that I drive a vehicle that gives me a better vantage point, I can’t tell you how many people do “stuff” while driving. I always knew some people would still used their phones, what shocks me is the sheer amount that still do. Easily >85%.

Blitz everybody..cars too...total nonsense ..politics
Amazon hit my performance on they own error clearly say Amazon error still said its my fault
I feel like that’s the part of the job that never ends, arguing with them to prove I did everything correct.
Definitely have the presumption of guilt with every dispute I do.
I've been wondering where Amazon
Trailers are maintained?
Is there a central yard or facility or
Do they only address trailer maintenance upon breakdown?
I work for a small carrier and we are shutting down the whole week
(Got my lvl 3 last week)
I can only report what I’ve seen but they typically do PM type maintenance at their bigger facilities. Where I am at (San Diego), it’s very common to see 1-3 work trucks at either SAN5 or SAN3 at any given time doing maintenance, inspections, etc.
when something “breaks”, they will have those type of repairs wherever they occur by dispatching a work truck there.
I feel they do a good job at identifying problems with their equipment as every time a trailer is moved it is supposed to be inspected by the carrier. When/if a problem occurs, they will cancel the trip and pay the TONU.
I’ve spent many hours in their yards working as a trailer hostler and feel they do a pretty good job at PM’s.

They hire 3rd party mechanics to fix and repair their equipment
Amazon..cheap freight...ur drivers are reckless...ur vans are trashed..teach them how to drive..
If they "Blitz" the 4 wheelers, they would make a lot more money.
True.
It’s shocking to think about all the rights you give up driving a commercial vehicle. All the questions I would never answer in my four-wheeler that I’m forced to answer when driving my “big car”🤣
