    I worked a p&d route in Vacaville, I always heard it pronounced Vack-a-ville.

      You are correct, just went to Google Pronunciation and realized I’ve been saying it wrong my entire life. 🤦🏻‍♂️

    california always seems to be stacked amazon wise. have u ever seen anything below 2$ a mile?

    • @STATTrucking
      @STATTrucking Před 3 měsíci

      Oh yeah, Jan-Mid March 2024 was 95% sub $2/mile loads. That’s the thing with Amazon, it can be super hot one day followed by a day or two of the worst loads ever.
      This is exactly why I give the “warning” I give about load board vids because say I make one and rates suck, one might think it’s like that all the time (it’s not). Alternatively, say I manage to catch it when rates are great, one might think it’s like that all the time, it’s not. My fear is that I’m giving people a false positive/negative every time I make one.
      My thought on it is, if you are proficient at your area and are keeping up with spot capacity while keeping your grade high, anyone could make money anywhere.

    Do you have any content on cargo van

    • @STATTrucking
      @STATTrucking Před 3 měsíci

      I don’t, sorry. I do Amazon Relay which covers all the “middle miles” and uses box trucks and semis. The cargo vans are used in a “final mile” capacity and operate on a completely different platform:
      logistics.amazon.com/marketing/opportunity

    For the blocks, how many miles do you typically run for each? I think the blocks only mentioned the deadhead

    • @STATTrucking
      @STATTrucking Před 3 měsíci

      I’ve never run a block because I feel I can do better on the load board and spot capacity so take what I’m about to say with a grain of salt.
      From what I’ve heard from others, they average around 350 miles however occasionally I’ll come across someone who ran close to 500.
      Given the cost of fuel where I live, it costs me minimum 70¢/mile to run my truck whereas they are reimbursing me at 48.5¢/mile, making every mile they ask me to run come at a cost to me.
      Those $500 offers can quickly turn into less than $400 for a full days work which is why I always go load board/spot capacity. Now, if they ever offer up blocks at $1200, I’m in. I’ve only ever seen them get that high twice in two years and at that point, the load board was paying so well it still made more sense to not do blocks.

    Hi Bro! Does it make sense to keep A score right now. I get the A score one week and as I could see those prises was just terrible. Does the grade affect how many spots capacity requests you get?
    Thanks 🙏

      I’m one of those weird people whose going to say grade is important all the time. Grade definitely makes a bigger difference during certain times compared to others, it hasn’t made a big difference for me all of 2024.
      Even though the bulk of the money I’ve made so far this year has come through spot capacity, I will say, 100% of the loads I’ve booked through the load board have ALL been early access.
      I will see bad rates for 2-3 days but then it usually turns around for a couple days and I’m glad I have access to those loads.
      As far as it affecting the quantity/quality of spot offers, I don’t know if it makes a difference or not. I feel like the bigger factor is how frequently you say “yes” (if the price is right of course) to their offers.
      How I use my grade with spot capacity is like this:
      I sell my grade back to the person once I get them on the phone. I have no idea if they can even see my grade, but I use it as a bargaining chip to assure them if they go with me, there’s a 100% chance I will deliver on what I’m promising.
      Even though keeping up on the grade is hard, my life is much easier when I’m at 98% and above.
      👊🏻🍻
