- “A race to the bottom is a causal chain in which parties compete for a desired result by making increasingly larger concessions. Although some parties may temporarily out-compete others, the concessions lead to adverse consequences that may go unnoticed until it is too late to change course”
--The Internet
I could waste a lot of time and words and still not be able to explain it as well as this video does.
I understand comparing a job which pays by the hour to one that pays by the mile is unfair, however as a business owner I must make the most effective use of my time.

This was so insightful! You are clearly doing it right! Thank you for your presentation! Very motivational as a like minded person!
I’m glad you liked it.
Trucking is the epitome of bird in the hand, two in the bush. It becomes a constant struggle to ensure I’m getting enough for that one in the hand otherwise I know I’m gonna have buyers remorse later on.
That buyers remorse feeling is what keeps me on my toes.
I appreciate your kinds words, stay safe out there and keeping knocking down those big pots.
👊🏻🍻
I’ve been watching your videos now for a few months and really enjoying them. There’s a lot of talk among drivers that rates are not what they used to be, there’s no money in local routes, the real money is in OTR etc. and you are proof that you can still make good money staying local. I had a question, you’ve mentioned that you have an empty trailer that you do runs for another company, what percentage of your income is from Amazon and from the other company?
Thank you, I’m glad you’re enjoying them.
I have two answers, 2022-2023 & 2024
2022-2023:
90% Amazon, used trailer very little, upset I bought trailer.
2024:
50% Amazon, using trailer a lot, grateful I never sold it
I have picked up a few direct customers over the last two years which I use my trailer for which is the primary reason I never sold it. I never make content about this because I know the second I do, that business is going to receive a “race to the bottom” phone call.
When Amazon is good, there is enough for everyone, what has changed in 2024 is it has gone from being good 4-6 days/week to only being good about 3 days/week. The trick to Amazon IMO is patience, if you feel like you have to run for them everyday, you will absolutely hate it and think I am a liar. I ONLY work for them when conditions are right.
I’m down to do OTR but have the expectation that it pays me more since I will be giving up a lot of things I love (family, home time, etc). I fully acknowledge I may not be proficient at finding well paying OTR loads but also have not seen OTR opportunities that offset the things I’d be giving up if I did it.
I don’t really listen to what people “say” about trucking, I’m more of a FAFO guy. An overwhelming amount of people say that Amazon is trash and had I listened to them, I never would have tried it. It’s not perfect, no broker is, but my overall experience has been positive.
I appreciate you checking in with me and wish you nothing but the best.
👊🏻🍻
Great hustling skills brother. I need to learn them lol
Thank you 🙏
I try to communicate well and be equal parts patience and persistence without ever letting emotions into the equation. It feels like a small victory when a failed opportunity leads to an even greater one.
👊🏻🍻
Do remember the name of the app that you use to communicate with Amazon?
Amazon Chime
I first covered it here:

I’ve got an update to this one coming out in the next week, someone asked me to go a little more in detail and that’s what I did. I still need to throw it all together but should have it up soon.

@@STATTrucking awesome, looking forward to it!
Ive never had def problems buying 100% from truckstops pumps for the last 5 years. I believe the big truck stops will have way fresher def than the packaged over priced stuff
DEF is something I am definitely not an authority on. It makes sense to me that truck stop DEF would be fresher due to the high turnover.
The price for me is not the issue (2.5 gallons SuperTech $10.30 or $4.12/gallon), what is an issue is the hour out of my day I spend driving to/from Walmart to pick it up when it’s time to re-up.
You’ve got me thinking truck stop DEF might be alright and I appreciate your insight.
👊🏻🍻
Damn you would of woke up 4 hours earlier they had empties that day going to SBD3 going for $900
I’m glad to hear it. It’s starting to feel like “old Amazon” where great loads are plentiful all day long.
👊🏻🍻
"I almost forgot"... Yea, my shoutout 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️😫😫.. (Todd really doesn't like me smh) lol
🤣
It’s coming, I’ve got to do it proper.
I’ve got about a ten day lag from when I record to when I post (+/- 3 days depending on how busy I am in the truck)
@@STATTrucking 👊👊😡😡😂😂 You're good friend
What software did you use to make this video please
LumaFusion
I’ve always been into video editing just as a hobby ever since my first iPhone had iMovie on it but wanted to do more than it had to offer. Years ago, I bought Final Cut Pro but found it to be way above what I was capable of understanding.
I learned 100% of what I know how to do with LumaFusion from this guy:
youtube.com/@RobHK?si=dv6Iz8amCOUOgEwU
He does great tutorials and attribute his videos for helping me make videos look the way they do.
With LumaFusion, an Apple Pencil (or equivalent) is essential, you’ll go crazy without one.
