Show some semi contracts. What are they looking like in in California and thinking about getting a truck
30 minutes grace period to assign a driver when we book a load with less than 5 hours to SAT that was Amazon answer to my dispute for getting penalized with 6 points for been late and not assigning driver, of course it was my fault for overbooking
I appreciate your input, thank you 🙏
I’ve heard thirty minutes as well but would love to read that somewhere in their guidelines. I’m moving forward assuming 30 minutes is correct.

I will try clearing the browser cache next time, I haven’t tried that yet.
I have tried logging out and restarting phone.
Solid suggestion.

Hey Todd. Im at a loss for words regarding amazon and there last minute rule book changes. Seems like they are trying to work against us rather than with us. As for the under 5 hours, you have 30 mins to assign a driver. I read it somewhere on relay. If you need a copy of it i can try to find for you and send it to you.
I appreciate it, I know I’ve seen/heard 30 minutes as well but can’t find it anywhere for the life of me today.
Trying to do the best job I can only to be “tricked” at every freaking step is growing old. When the pay matched the expectations, I had no problem with it, but champagne expectations on a beer budget has never worked for me.
👊🏻🍻
@@STATTrucking The other thing I noticed is that when you have the browser Relay open their new update AI must constantly reset your search in hopes that you don’t have it running in constantly watching the prices a new loads. I leave it open just like you do and I’ve noticed it constantly resets my search when I see a new load pop up unlike before. You notice the same?
@Echoscreen33 Unfortunately, yes, I have noticed the same thing. I’ve seen it on phone, iPad, and computer. I used to do a lot of screen recording to keep track of things while I slept, it has put the kibosh on that for sure. It’s also annoying because it happens at totally random times, sometimes it resets a couple minutes in, other times it doesn’t happen for 30 minutes. Definitely leaves me feeling like they’re working against us.

Hey, sidebar question for you... Maybe more of a situation i want an opinion on.
I had an ABS light come on an hour into my drive and turned out it was the ABS control module. They had to order the part and long story short I waited 44 hours with this trailer. They are denying me any detention/layover whatsoever. They're claiming that after my trailer inspection in the yard it is my responsibility and they do not pay for time lost!
Do you know of any other recourse for a payment dispute after you have been denied, then appeal and denied again?
I'm just really surprised by this stance and feel it must be some misunderstanding... Although I am newer running with Amazon. And on that note, thank you for all your content and information, it's very helpful!
My opinion is that they owe you for every mile you advanced the load PLUS detention pay for all the lost time. To claim it should have been caught in a pre trip does not account for everything being fine during the pre trip and for this ABS control module to fail once the trip was started. Not trying to sound like an ass here but Amazon has shown me time and time again, my opinion does not matter.
My best evidence of this would be my unpaid trailer hostler shift from a few months back where I showed up, did the work, only to find out after the fact that it had been canceled and to see a $1K payout ➡️$250 after some serious “fighting” with them.
Amazon has been moving from a “let’s work together” model to a “we are always right” model since I started with them two years ago. It’s very frustrating, especially when you can prove they are wrong.
I will say, in 2024 I have been distancing myself from them and working for them less because of these changes. I will give them credit, when everything works like it’s supposed to, their system is great, but when you have situations come up like yours, their system is terrible, and unfortunately, these things are inevitable.
Your best course of action is to do a payment dispute, take it to the one-time appeal, but unfortunately at that point, you are forced to accept their answer (which I hate and feel is wrong). I’m not looking to burn any bridges with Amazon as I see them being an important piece to the logistics puzzle but definitely don’t lose sight of what other brokers are offering. I feel like the Amazon system attracts people to its ease of use (booking, not having to invoice, not having to on-board) and then relies on people’s complacency to stop looking around. It took me 20 years to realize, but quitting pharmacy taught me to never be complacent with anything, EVER!!!
👊🏻🍻
@@STATTrucking Yeah that all seems to be the case.. when they're good it's great, but this definitely leaves a bad taste in the mouth. I mean really it pisses me off but I still feel like the pros outweigh the cons, and I've made more easy money with them then I've lost.
Well, thanks for the reassurance.. keep posting, we'll keep watching!
Based on my experiences, it sounds like they are deliberately creating issue's in order for them to not pay A#1 drivers more money. In other words they are cutting pay while increasing their profits. I they do this with thousands of drivers they save thousands of dollars. I helps keep stock price up.
Just a thought. Thx4t vid
I agree!!!
I’ve had some family stuff going on and haven’t had a chance to make a video on it, but in the last week they updated a policy that IMO almost kills their platform. The new policy is, you can no longer use a prior Amazon stop as a reason for being late to a future Amazon load.
So, historically, my MO has been keep the grade high, watch the load board for a while (4 hours) and fill my schedule with great loads. This change means that say I book 3 loads over a day/night. If stop 1 runs over and makes me late to stop 2&3, now those tardies will count against my score. It makes watching the load board for long periods useless because you have zero control when/if a load runs over. Basically, they want you to finish a load and then book your next load which is a miserable way to work. I’ll work that way once I’m “already out”, but to go into every day like that is not good.
They are also getting into a lot of “trickery”. Last week their system was down and they even acknowledged it. Basically, the wrong equipment was showing up in people’s search criteria. A friend of mine booked a load that had wrong equipment listed, they held it against him. Got the performance dispute results back today and even though they put the wrong equipment, his grade will now be bad for six weeks. Definitely feels like as of recent they are working against us, not with us.

The car just wants you to be safe that’s all!!
Unlike the Amazon relay customer service! 😂
Keep your head up thank you for the content.
It’s real unfortunate when I pull up next to someone whose holding any type of sign because they look at me, I look at them, and then they hear me lock the door every two seconds. Awkward AF!!! 🤣
I guess we have to play by their rules in order to work. Lol. Another awesome video. In regards to performance does the min speeding and speeding instances negatively impact our performance grade? The highest time of speeding I've had so far was 1 min speeding and it shows at the end of the trip. Does verifiable bad weather affect the score. I was 3 mins late to the drop off due to weather. The app gave me a notification of bad weather and low visibility. Also they didn't have a seal on the trailer at pick up so it thru me back a few mins along with the bad weather. I appreciate your patients in answering all my questions! You have a appreciative sub here!
The problem with their rules is they apply them as they see fit and ALWAYS in their favor. Every single app usage they’ve ever hit me with has been fake/false. The accusation alone is the problem and to now be told we all have ONE SHOT at getting them to correct what they already messed up is disheartening.
Currently, your “speeding events” are not a factor but I wouldn’t be surprised if in the near future it becomes an issue. I pass an elementary school every time I go to DSD8, the speed limit is 25 when children are present, 50 otherwise. I run at night. Every single time I go by, the screen turns red and they hit me with a speeding event. I’m hoping they work out these “kinks” before they implement speed as part of our score.
They claim weather/traffic will not be held against you but I personally know people who have had these EXACT issues held against them and their score dropped.
The best course of action I have found is:
1. Take pictures/screenshots
2. Leave load notes
3. Request callback from ROC and get them to acknowledge load notes preferably by leaving their own load note
I’ve found my performance disputes go better if I’m brief, I love it when in a performance dispute I can say something to the effect of “please see load notes to verify everything I’m saying is correct”. Now that we only get one shot at these, it’s imperative we are effective at getting our points across. I appreciate you being here
👊🏻🍻
Good topic for the first live stream. Did you ever make your thumbnail?
I’ve been so busy with my dad and I haven’t had a chance. Not a lot of “Trucking” happening on my end right now 😔
In the last six months, I've booked 2 great paying loads with amazon, both loads were in the last 2 weeks, I currently have a D+ performance score, that score means nothin to me anymore, and I booked those 2 loads about 3 hours before they began, I didn't assign myself right away and I had no problems with the 5 hr rule
You are my spirit animal!!
I’m not kidding, I want to get to your level.
I’m just tired of feeling like every step is just another way for them to make something up and hold it over my head. Maintaining a 100% grade feels like 3 full-time jobs and it’s getting old. If there were and end in sight, I could trudge though it but the fact that it’s only getting worse has me 🤦🏻♂️
👊🏻🍻
@todd you know, us company driver feel the Amazon pinch too
I absolutely do, I can’t imagine the pressure your under from Amazon alone plus having your company hold you accountable for everything Amazon claims you do/don’t do. If Amazon hits me with a false accusation, it ends with me, if I had to justify this to my “boss”, I’d grow exceptionally resentful.
👊🏻🍻
Im a new aspiring operator in FL and if im hearing this much static about Amazon, then I might as well stick to DAT, local enterprises and other load boards.
Esp if Amazon requires 90+ authority.
Is my assessment correct? Or should I experience it myself?
I would still give Amazon a shot to know for yourself. In 2022 when I started, I almost didn’t work with them because of all the negativity I found about them online and I’m grateful I did because I really have enjoyed doing work for them.
The problem I have with Amazon (today) comes down to three policy changes that have occurred since I started:
1. Ineligible Driver - They block out time and don’t allow you to book anything during that time, even if you are 100% you can get it done, they won’t let you.
2. Appeal Limit 1 - I pride myself on keeping my Amazon grade high (usually 100%) and am only able to do so through being meticulous with performance disputes. Amazon is notorious for creating a system where you’re guilty until you can prove yourself innocent.
Example:
czcams.com/video/U5uZfGoS77E/video.htmlsi=87vlAPXIjugmWMtd
Unfortunately, these disputes usually take more than 1 attempt for them to get correct.
3. Prior Amazon Stop - This is a new one that came out in the last week🙁. They are no longer accepting you being late to stops if the reason for being late was an Amazon created problem at a prior stop. So say you sign up for an A➡️B➡️C that starts at 8:00AM and you get to stop A at 7:00AM. But, stop A doesn’t have trailer ready (etc, etc) and it makes you late to B➡️C, these now count against you even though you did everything right.
These changes, especially the last one are counterproductive and I don’t like them.
To be fair, I see the Pro’s of Amazon as:
🔴 Relatively easy to book multiple trips in one day
🔴 Not having to call/email/onboard with a bunch of brokers and then submit paperwork/invoice brokers to get paid
🔴 Zero need to factor, they pay fast
I’d still say definitely try it, even if they are someone you periodically work with there is great money to be made around Prime Day and holidays.
👊🏻🍻
Are you going to Relay Con in Vegas?
I don’t think so. It kinda sounds like if the notifications tab were an event. If I could go and actually find out if middle mile managers existed and who mine was, I would be there for sure. I’ve been looking for mine since I started. I hear people online talk about them and they are like 🦄 to me.
On the other hand, Vegas is always fun.
What about you?
@@STATTrucking I'm going to this one. I have to find out if there is such a thing as a MMM. There has to be a way for a 1 truck O/O to build a PERSONAL relationship with Amazon. If I can't find it at Relay Con , maybe they truly are unicorns....😇
@theblackrose470
If I do end up going, I’ll let you know, Vegas is always fun.
How do you recover from it, my grade is a 88.5 grade but on currently on suspension with a threat of termination.
Now that they moved to an “active week” situation:
czcams.com/video/w7O0HyF22HY/video.htmlsi=FmIOsUpiOJDGlXTO
You are forced to find a way to book a load (which is difficult while on a suspension) and you have to execute it perfectly. Unfortunately, you have to repeat this for a total of six weeks in order to make that bad mark “fall off”. Their grading scale is exceptionally draconian in nature.
👊🏻🍻
It’s almost unsafe working for Amazon , imagine driving a semi truck being nervous because you are early but an accident just happened infront of you, I make on average $3500 per week withing a 100 mile radius of my city but honestly I don’t even care anymore , i have A+ most times but I have to worry too much when hauling for Amazon I’m thinking of going back to my 9-5
I agree 100%.
I know too many people marked down for traffic after they arrived to stop#1 early. Seems like everything is moving towards a “carrier controlled” issue.
Traffic - carrier controlled
Weather - carrier controlled
Passed DOT inspection - carrier controlled
What attracted me to them in the first place was they paid pretty well AND had high expectations. I was willing to meet the expectations because the pay matched.
2024 has been low-average pay with increasing expectations and if I may quote one of my favorite childhood shows “Homie don’t play that”.
I’ve been working with a bunch of new brokers and it’s refreshing to not have to deal with all the “stuff”. If Amazon wants to go back to 22-23 rates, I’m down to play their game but I’m completely unwilling to do more work for less money (and by work I mean screenshots, documenting, performance disputes, etc).
Definitely a wait and see, I don’t want to be one of these people who just quits Amazon and gives some vague reason (they don’t respect their drivers). More to come for sure…
👊🏻🍻
@STATTrucking it's almost as if you have to wake up 3 hours beforehand to do a 30 minute run 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️😡😡😫😫
Yep, come hell or high water you must be to stop#1 on time. They’ll work with you (if you do performance disputes) on delays that occur in latter stops, but if you are late to stop#1, you are screwed. So yeah, three hours early sounds correct🤣
