RTX 5090 will melt 16pin connector very easy. It will not fix problem with tiny pins in connector. Low area wher pins claps.

One would hope given the failure of the connector used on the 4090 at 450 watts (It simply isn't secure enough for the tiny safety margin) they would either use a new connector or two connectors on a 500 watt card. The 40 series connect really isn't fit for over 300 watts IMHO.

If you look deep at the 7900x3d its quite impressive that its not too far despite having both 6 cores 3d and non 3d v cache i would expect a lot worse actually but unfortunately its expensive and thats the main problem of it.

Ofcourse there is a big performance delta between 5090 and the 5080.. the 5090 is their Halo product. it shows off what they can do. But using the TDP or rather.. TGP, is a terrible way to look at that. These are two VERY different GPU dies. the 90-series die is MUCH larger than the 80-series Die. this is where the profance difference is coming from, it has more tech in it. Also a 20 watt increase isn't that large on a 80-series GPU. If you have been paying attention to board partners they have been ignoring the TGP set by Nvidia since for ever. Especially on the go fast performance cards like my RTX 3080 FTW3. if left as is it can draw above the 320watt TDP and if I then use the OC bios it can get closer to 400watts even exceeding that under specific circumstances. But, because I am a reasonable human being, I undervolted the 3080. dropping it down to 0,850. I tried 0.818 but that was unstanble for me at 1830 - 1860mhz so I put it to 0.850 and dropped about 100Watts in power use without any noticable performance hit. its maybe like 1 to 2 FPS at most or something. In games like my modded Skyrim it maybe, MAYBE goes up to 200 watts but usually hovers around 160. But then in Cyberpunk with raytracin and the UltraPlus mod it uses like 250 to 280 watts.. but I am pushing that a bit harder than most games. Ghost of Tsushima sits more around 230Watt mark. For what ever reason Nvidia runs these GPU's very hard right out of the gate. I'm sure if I spent more then 15 minutes I could fine tune the underovlt to get a smidge more energy effecient or more performance out of it but... meh. its fine as is.

Yet AMD’s fanboy cult will insist that Nvidia is junk. 😂 I love my MSI Gaming X 4060ti 16GB card and will look to upgrade either to a 5080 or 5070ti next year. Intel and Nvidia all day, baby!

The 5080 should substantially outperform the 4090. The 80 class GPU usually always outperforms the previous gen flagship GPU. Hopefully, Nvidia can find a way to pack in much more gaming performance into the 5080 than the 4090 but considerably limit its AI performance. That way, gamers in China could enjoy a GPU that's significantly more powerful than the 4090 in gaming without having to worry about US export restrictions. Gaming performance is not the issue regarding the US export restrictions. AI performance is.

I hope AMD will get FSR with AI like DLSS. I would definitely get AMD over NVIDIA if they do this.

The 5070 will be able to do the same as the 5080 and 5090 for far less, if you want to go that route get a 4070Ti at least and just DLSS if you really want 4K instead of paying about $1400 on a 4080, or wait a bit and get a used 4080 after the 50 series settle down.

My Intel Fanboy friernd was like Intel bla bla bla .. has a feature for people doing editing etc. So, I bought the I9 14900k with 64GB DDR5 Ram. Running on a RTX 3060 12gb. I feel like my older Ryzen 7 responds faster. Like when I open a window. I have to wait a split second for intel. Its crazy. I think im giving this Intel junk to my 13 yr old for Roblox (lol) and im going with the new Ryzen 9 at the end of the month
