Adding "AI" to everything is like adding "gaming" to everything, it's just a buzzword to increase the price without actually offering more.
Idk tho, I think it will.add something and that is easier spying for the government. A.i baked into everything and with every device having Bluetooth they will track u with mesh networks.
Dear lord, here come the "AI" computer chairs.
Probably due to the now included NPU so now you get a CPU+NPU chip. The NPU isn't a general use chip but a specialized chip for neural network compute. So in theory you can run the neural network along side of a general compute process along side a GPU process all on the same CPU package.
Yeah no. Not really the same if the "AI" means it actually offers a NPU. NPU is actually offering more. If there is no NPU then i would agree.
Or at least it's just ambiguous. The RK3588's got an NPU for these kinds of things but it doesn't really bill itself as "AI". So does "AI" mean NPU or something else? Who knows.
oh boy guys prepare for a cpus over a 1000$ 💀
The draw to ARM is low cost low power so if they sell it for high cost they really have to be better than Intel and AMD in a way that the avg " i just want to surf the net, watch videos, see images, and do word processing on it" consumers will notice
@@yumri4y would u need that when u have green fan boy

Yeah. I can unironically see gamers buying it in droves, even tho Nvidia has pretty much thrown them under the bus.
Seems like AMD is internally changing their idea of standard low-power versus something genuinely designed for low power. To me their new "low power TDP" range seems more like failed chips with certain items disabled and thus sold as a lower SKU item.

it just makes everything more expensive and give less gains for the same price on what really matters
Ray-tracing is the future but not good enough for the present.

@@MindTwins-wd6mbit's the same for everything at the beginning, after a few years AI tech will be cheap. 💁🏻♂️
Ray Tracing is very useful for example if you are recording game videos for edit videos for those flashy visuals many praise, but for actual gaming? Meh. But I like the tensor cores though, they are immensely useful especially if you do a lot of upscaling like me. Ray Tracing is also useful to animate ambient/rooms in 3D projects. But yeah it in my opinion has ZERO use in actual gaming.

ARM cpus ? That's interesting news, but not really "hot news". It will take at least several years for ARM to become usable for me. I'm a developper in learning and i'm thinking about changing my machine. I'm 100% sure i'll stick with x86 for compatibility of softwares.
I'm waiting for intel to release their 200k series, but i'm pretty sure imma pick an AMD cpu because they litteraly have no competition.
ARM has been trying to get into pc's for 20 years.
Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Elite X launches in Q3 2024. Nvidia’s CPU won’t launch until Q4 of 2025. Both are Arm & both are designed for AI. It’s not that big of a deal.

Because they are greedy.
@@TechReviews2010 all companies are. AMD did the same thing when they finally got completive with Intel. The thing is if nVidia can become a competitor with Intel what is there to stop Intel from driving AMD out of business. AMD was able to stay afloat while in the red for so long as they had a strong backer .... Intel backed them as Intel needs AMD for Intel to get data center contracts. Now think if nVidia comes along with good x86 compatibility then AMD doesn't have to be around anymore thus losing a company who is backing them. If nVidia is good enough then data center server providers will just go with nVidia not AMD for the other choice.
nVidia can put AMD out of business easier in CPUs than in GPUs. This is assuming nVidia has a good product and Quallcomm doesn't take all the market share nVidia wants to grab.
You don't get it, if another competitor joins the race, all of us will win. That's how competition works in market, consumers either get better products for less price or way better quality products for the same or a bit more price.
But of course, competition is still green for NVIDIA in CPU market and for Intel in GPU market, some years have to pass for us to see the good changes. 💁🏻♂️
Literally any company would do the exact same thing. Intel did it before Ryzen. All of these companies are solely out to make money for their shareholders, not to be generous to you.

Nvidia would make a 4c 4t 2.2ghz boost cpu that supports ddr3 and sell it for 200
No. They would make one boosting at 6.4 Ghz, but it comes with a very much reduced amount of cache. Using top of the line technology, but slighty bottlenecking the overpriced product to save money.
No nvidia will make something like rtx CPUs which is good at upscaling and more software features starting at just 500$

I wonder how nvidia will work around the x86/AMD64 patents at this point, for it's home PC CPU's.
Nvidia already has Jetson ARM GPU processors for the embedded/robotic market. They will fit nicely into a lightweight laptop just like the Snapdragon ones (and Apple M1,2,3,4).
Doesn't Microsoft still have an exclusivity deal with Qualcomm for Windows on ARM? Not sure how that will work if Nvidia decides to make desktop ARM cpus, although I do want more powerful ARM desktop CPUs
So the next handheld chip race is between Qualcomm and MediaTek-Nvidia?

Surprising that AI designation isn't just for SoC chips. All it means is there's an NPU in there. That in a chip with the GPU disabled seems weird.

IDK man, they've been selling consumer grade APUs for like a decade now, with their most recent one starting at $500 for 8 CPU cores, and only like 512CUDA cores, but then going up to $2000 for 12 cores and 2048 CUDA cores.
Its basically a tablet CPU plus a low powered 3050 on the same die, with memory slapped on that offers similar performance to an i5-12400+3050, but you know, uses way less power because its not Intel.
For them to drop their profit margins to something acceptable for end users, the existing market for these APUs, and the AI market must be collapsing.
That or the consumer APUs are getting chips built on old, cheap, inefficient nodes that no one else wants.
If you’re strictly a gamer, AI is only a buzzword like quantum, but if you’re into AI then you MUST go nvidia. A matching CPU becomes a must.

unless Nvidia does a 180 on pricing compared to their GPU they need to double Intel single core speed and only need 30-35 Watts to get Intel crushing speed
I am not really loving changing name schedule. People got used to it and now it is gone. ><
Interesting to see Nvidia's CPUs, though the question is about the price, and I wonder if it would be same fate, just like with Intel GPUs.

Steam Deck's great advantage is Steam OS.
Steam OS for ARM would be great, but we do not even have Steam OS for x86_64 PC.
I doubt that MS Windows for ARM will be good enough for a handheld gaming console, perhaps a Chrome OS ARM handheld, with Steam for wine/proton o a Steam client for ARM GNU/Linux would be the OS of choice to compete with Steam OS if they decide to compete against and not join the GNU/Linux club.
Intel: 10nm++++++++++++
Nvidia: Hold my beer.
But, nvidia AI consumer cpus, What does that means for us? Probably we need to move to windows arm to use them or android?
That's the thing. An "AI" arm CPU made by Nvidia, is just not a consumer CPU.
More confusing, just what i need.
Not really surprising Nvidia is going to do consumer chips since they are already doing CPU's anyway and rumors have been floating around that AMD might do ARM chips as well, it will be interesting to see either way since more competition is good even if Nvidia has burned some bridges with gamers. Just imagine if they had been allowed to buy ARM how different things might be right now.
As for QUALCOMM I'll reserve judgement until the chips are actually out, but if they are good I hope framework makes an ARM laptop.
