Why are graphic hardware companies bowing to anticheat companies. If the anticheat was not working, that’s a them problem, not a graphics hardware company problem. At the end of the day, the player’s experience matters and if that results in anticheat companies having to use their brains and actually do work, then that’s good.

There's an evil agenda against PC users. They want to destroy us with DRMs and closed source software. We need too start using open source software such as linux to protest against that. I use gentoo linux.

Thing is, most cheats are simply injection wrappers.
Why should anticheat have to go out of their way to permit some when they can simply ban all current and future cheats by banning the wrappers and GPUs already have a clean API interface they can use in DirectX/OpenGL?
Yeah, it sucks for something like Reshade too. But Reshade can also arguably offer an unfair advantage in offering something as simple as cell shading.

In what way do you think gpu/gfx card makers are bowing down to anti cheat companies?
The fact people were getting banned for anti-lag is down to the game code. Working around and taking into account individual games has *always* been a part of drivers.
Or are you talking about something else that's not in the video?

There is so many ways to get past that, so yeah this sht just hurts gamers. You are NOT getting anti-lag 2 in older games, and it being driver level was such a good feature.

Making the 9700x beat the 7800X3D would be a smart move because if it can do it WITHOUT the V-Cache, that means that the cores themselves will be very powerful and faster at every other task as well due to the higher clock speeds. But with that said, I'm likely still going to be waiting until I can get an X3D version and an 800 series board. I buy high end cards and my next one will most likely use PCI-e 5.0 along with my m.2 drive so I want all the speed and lanes I can get. USB 4 is just a bonus.

The problem AMD is gonna have is that Zen 3 and 4 were just so damn good many folks I know myself included are simply sticking with what we have. Lets face it folks, the core wars unlike the Mhz wars quickly sees diminishing returns unless you are doing some serious content creation or heavy number crunching, as for gaming even a 3600 is fine for 1080p and a 5600,5700x, or 5800x regular or 3D can easily handle 1440p so if you aren't seeing any bottlenecks why switch?

sometimes I think people get blinded by too much media oversimplification. Anti Lag 2.0 is NOT an upgraded Anti - Lag Plus (a driver only version), it is an upgraded version of Anti Lag 1.0. It still needs to be implemented by the developers. Anti Lag Plus wasn't better, just shifted from an in - game code to driver level code, which got it flagged by anti -cheat software. Anti - Lag 1.0 was never affected by that, and remained available for those games that had it.

With frame generation it is a bit more... lets say it like this: There is a reason why you find constant references to Intel and Nvidia when you go through all the gpuOpen stuff (hint: They provided the actual research and development of the proof of concepts for those things).
Nvidia had temporal interpolation for years but that was not meant for realtime cause it simply took too much performance to get decent results. And we can see that with FSR as only now it started looking decent while also not really improving performance on lower cards anymore. Turns out: Yeah, doing more than simple upscaling takes resources and performance.

X870 will have an unattractive pricing. AMD doesn't want that high price connected to new CPU release.
Kind of buy our new, not so improved (for regular desktop or gaming) CPU for a reasonable price. Then do with the MB whatever fits you.

If they want to be foolish and try to squeeze 3% more performance from 100% more power draw thats fine, but don't create contradictions and paradoxes within your product offerings.

I don't think this will actually improve the performance of most games cuz they almost never go above 65W even at max load (in games), so the CPU will easily hit the maximum clock speed of 5.5GHz even without increasing the TDP to 120W

      @tim3172 Před 2 měsíci

Except, you know, gaming generally doesn't stress out all of the cores on a CPU with 6 cores more more.
So, it's already likely below the max TDP.
And productivity workloads... do stress all cores available so you'd be... arbitrarily limiting the power available when you *actually* need it most.
