Don't even need the red dot, I'm comfortable with nothing more than just an ACOG. At extreme close range the parallax is negligible enough for home defense. It can even work well if you know the holdover to compensate for the parallax and height over bore.

I totally relate to the vntage Strat analogy, being a former musician myself. When I first got my G17 I bought some parts to "upgrade" including a lighter trigger doohicky. The Houge overgrip is good for my long fingers, as is the extended takedown catch. After one range session where the gun fired when I wasn't ready, I went home and reinstalled the stock item immediatly. As you say, just get another guitar for the different need, should you have one. More fun that way.

Everyone has the RIGHT to defend themselves, but gun ownership in itself is a PRIVILEGE; why should it be any different than owning a license to operate a motor vehicle or practice a certain trade. That is what sets us apart from the psychotic mental patients that originate on the right side of political spectrum.

The 442/642 dosen't need a trigger job. Load it up with snap caps and pull the trigger about 1,000 times and it will smooth out and lighten up a bit. It will also give you peace of mind that there are no defective parts from the factory. It will also strenthen your trigger finger, all of which are good things. A 7-pound trigger job will also lighten up with use, over time, and eventually you will have light primer strikes. The stock trigger/spring will work perfectly fine 30 years later. I would not trust my life to a trigger job but you do you.

I certainly am not a liberal but not a conservative either. I don’t agree with all of your political opinions. But the way I see it, the second amendment of our constitution transcends political ideology in my opinion. It applies to EVERYONE. Whether you’re left wing or right wing, black or white, all Americans have the right to bare arms. End of story. There is no shame in being a liberal gun owner.

Calling out boomers for being the OG snowflakes is the best thing I've seen on CZcams in a LONG time. Thank you for pointing out the hypocrisy of a group that complain about "safe spaces", but cry like toddlers when literally anything happens. That rant was amazing, and I'm definitely subscribing. Also, solid review beyond that. Your summary of overall carry requirements reminds me of Chris from Lucky Gunner. No judgement of people who carry full-size handguns, but most of us aren't cosplaying as cops everyday. 32ACP is definitely enough to keep you safe from normal risks, but also anemic enough to keep us from taking a dark alley "shortcut" for the thrill of potential conflict. Finally, I love my Tomcat. But it gets iffy when the barrel gets fouled. The cases start sticking at like 100 rounds of cheap stuff. Not a major concern, but an extractor would make range trips a bit more fun.

Your logic is flawed though, if you are going to offset an rds on an acog you could do it just as easily with an lpvo. I actually think it’s preferable to run an rds with an lpvo as; 1) it gives you an additional sight redundancy 2) it allows you to passively aim with NODs 3) the biggest benefit. That you don’t have to run your your lpvo at 1x magnifier, you can run it at 3-4x, use the RDS for 80m(ish) and still have the additional magnification to push out further if environment permits.

I agree, great company but same issues. They sharpen by hand and I think that’s the issue. So much variance between purchases. No hate. I love them. Not doffing them at all. Just think they need to employ a CNC charoeninf system and a optical Go no Go QC system. Tightens of CNC would be a great connection for them. I want to make myself clear I don’t own a company that makes knives. But I do think this would help them as I have been around CNC equipment quite a bit, and this would absolutely solve most of the issues that I’ve had, and other people have had.

I wonder how easy or hard it is to change the firing pin? You seem very knowledgeable about this Ruger Mark IV perhaps you might consider making a video on how to strip and service those parts that need replacing. I doubt if any of us would ever come close to that many rounds you ran through this gun. Nevertheless, it’s good to know how to replace broken parts especially in light of our present very anti-gun administration making shipping firearms back to manufacturer very difficult often requiring to go through an FFL dealer.

Don't know why I've never seen this video considering I have watched countless Beretta videos relating to the 92A1 and 92S which I have, and the Stoeger version of the 8000. Then throw in the rest of my 92 Berettas and clones. The A1 is my tuned night stand gun. The 92S slide to frame fit is like glass when racking the slide. The Stoeger shoots very well and takes Beretta mags and maybe some other parts. It has a blue finish that isn't that great really. Having had Berettas for 30ish years they are on top of my favorites list along with the Sig 226 and CZ75. Stock vs stock, the 226 with the SRT trigger beats the Beretta A1. But, I recently got a 92X Centurion G model. This thing, bone stock, has a fantastic trigger. It's like Beretta put in the 92X Performance trigger or something. It beats the Sig. I had bought the Performance trigger kit thinking I would put in in the 92X but it just doesn't need it. Maybe I'll see if it will go in the old 92S. Good choices there and good shooting.

I was just reviewing Cougar videos considering getting one. I have several 92 models and the Stoeger Cougar. The Beretta 8000 I'm considering is a DAO. No single action. I'm wondering a few things. What kind of trigger it will have. Are there SA/DA parts available to swap out. Do the 92 parts fit in the DAO 8000. Anyone know anything? Oh and when I got my Stoeger about 10 years go the first thing I did was get on Gunbroker and find factory Beretta mags for it so I have 6 for my Stoeger. It's a nice shooting gun but the finish is no where near as nice as the Beretta that I can tell.
