I think you are making the same rookie mistake most Americans make and that's trying to see too much in a short period of time, You would have been better picking an area and seeing as much in that area as possible, I think you'd have been better picking Manchester or Liverpool as your base then travelling to as many areas round about as possible, by trying to see so much you are going to end up spending half your time travelling rather than getting to see things. If you aren't going for at least a few days I'd scrap London and Scotland you'd need at least a week in both of those places if you wanted to do it right - and you are definitely not doing Scotland right if you are just going to Glasgow - more people voted for you to go to Glasgow because Glasgow has a higher population but Edinburgh and Stirling are a lot more touristy, but also if you are just doing a city in Scotland you really are missing the best of the country as the best sites in Scotland are the scenic areas that are outwith the cities. and London you'll barely see squat if you are just going for a day or two London definitely needs a minimum of 5 days.

I’ve been dragged along to nightclubs without wanting to. My get-out is saying I’m going to the toilet but I head straight for the exit instead. Then I go to a proper pub, With good Guinness, good music and a pool table. 👌

This reminds me of back in the 1980's when my Dad used to go to a little shop near us every Sunday morning to get his sweets before church. One particular Sunday morning he went to the shop to get a quarter of either 'Cough Candi' or 'Aniseed Twist' and the lady behind the counter used to have very shaky hands. She started pouring the sweets into the bowl on the scales and she spilt loads of them all over the floor, anyway they had a Black Labrador dog that used to scoot along the floor on it's arse, and Dad happened to see it just as she picked the sweets up and put them in the bag. He told her in no uncertain terms that she could keep her sweets and he never went back there again.

3:00 - "He's not going to get selected" for jury service. Here in the UK, the jury is chosen at random by an impartial process and that is that. The lawyers have no say at all about which members of the public form a jury - in fact no-one does, not even the judge, unless he finds some legal reason why they shouldn't be on a jury and then he has them removed and replaces them with another randomly selected person. They remain anonymous until the end of the trial, when they are free to tell the press, etc, about themselves if they wish, though few do. It seems ludicrous to us that juries are basically interviewed by defense and prosecution and then whittled down to a chosen few. Of course, this does all mean that the likes of Jeremy get to judge people legally!

The Ronnies and Cleese used to work together on "That was the week that was" but I'm sure you knew that.

Gob is slang for mouth and gob stoppers were very hard boiled sweets which took ages to suck and suck and suck. They very gradually changed colour as you sucked them. As a small child sometimes we took them out of our mouths and passed them to a friend to see if they wanted to finish off sucking them….disgusting!!!

The interesting thing is that they did not consider themselves a "Comedy Duo" - just 2 people that starred on the same show. They refused any request to tour together as a comedy act and very rarely interviewed together. This was even though they were good friends
