I feel like you misjudge what age these guys are supposed to be. Mid to late 20s at this stage, mid to late 30s in later seasons. [Edit: Actually about 30 at this stage, as others have pointed out in the comments.]

I'm baffled by some people claiming that Suze is attracted to Mark & that he has a chance with her. She makes it clear that she sees him as a eunuch, which is as far from sexual attraction as possible.
To me, this was Suze’s way of saying from a woman’s perspective that she knows she is safe with him, like she knows he’s not going to try anything on with her.
@@thescrutineer7022 It's way beyond that. Calling him a eunuch is clearly an insult. She feels safe with him because she views him as not sexual at all.
@@DavidZ4-gg3dm Why would Suze insult him? Why ask Mark into bed? If Jez stood a chance then so did Mark in my opinion.

Because it's more comfortable; she's friendzoning him.
Jez has major advantages over Mark, including looks & personality.

@@nellsun2521 There was no such thing in London in the 1970s. It was a case of 'all's fair in love and war.' My firends and I all wnt out with the same group of girls, who we'd grown up with, and the idea of ever showing jealousy if you got dumped was anathema. You sucked it up and went out with another girl in the group. That's just how it was back then.
