Yeah I think we can safely say neither have a clue when it's comes to cooking! That's why Sheffield United FC are nicknamed 'The Blades' because of the cities history of cutlery production.
We also have a Best Before Date beside the Sell Before Date. Alot of places have stopped issuing best before date to try and reduce food waste.
In UK stores have sell by date but also for the customer a use by date which is past the sell by date

My recipe for British homemade baked beans, Go to any local supermarket/ store and buy some Heinz baked beans and add a bit of salt as most companies remove the salt content things used to have, making them tasteless. balls to making your own takes hours!
Standard tinned beans are bland. That said Branston are better than Heinz, but less readily available. I always add BBQ sauce to my beans, or a little bit of curry powder.

I think most can, Americans use them differently though
I tried very hard as a child to use cutlery in it's supposed manor. Even went to school in a Christian brother (roman Catholic) school where I was always scalded by teachers at lunch times. Still use fork in my right hand
If you are putting suger in then you are baking a kake, not bread.
Some savory breads need a touch of sugar in them to develop desired crusts

Fun fact hovis is responsible for gladiator the movie and alien fyi Ridley Scott got is break making adverts for them and your cooking skills need a bit of school work eg British imperial measurements are different to us imperial measurements ie Uk pint is 20oz American pint is 16oz so when you did the cooking you probably didn’t adjust the math and ended with wrong scale
