He’s not farting in the lift , Alan is just annoyed at him taking rubbish and laughing to fill the silence in the lift
Yes that’s right
We've all met people like that who can't stand silence so have to fill it with some form of irritating noise.
No fart took place in the lift, Kevin Eldon's character was just being introduced as a weird guy who chuckles at everything you say
There’s people like that irl, I love that they put a character like that in this lol
They don't understand a lot of what's going on humour-wise.
‘Michael’ does the voices of the meerkats in them compare car insurance adverts 😀
Alan's banter with Dave Clifton is brilliant 😂
His Castrol GTX jacket was a good touch.....lovely stuff.
Alan Partridge series Mid morning matters is brilliant.
It’s his best work for sure. It’s perfect
Peak Partridge
And This Time - do not forget about that series
Mmm is the best
Falling off the roof fixing the aerial is actually how Rod Hull died.
After you finish the series, you need to watch the movie Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa 😅😅
After the next series you mean ?
The movie is wank, I wouldn’t recommend it.
@@Mike-ol7gt after season 2 when the series finishes, yes.
I've gotta say, didn't really do it for me.
You have to watch Mid Morning Matters. Alan doing his radio show. Brilliant.
Mid morning matters is impossible to find
@@Mike-ol7gt Full eps are on Dailymotion.
On a completely different subject The Reckoning is a drama BBC
3 part series. Based on Jimmy Savile . It’s hard to watch but Steve Coogan who does Alan Partridge is amazing in it. Very creepy , and upsetting .
Coogan's acting in that was some of the best ever in anything. He deserved an oscar for each episode. And a medal for the guts to tackle that character.
When he said Wings are what The Beatles could of been 😂
Really looking forward to s2!!!! Keep em coming
The Castrol GTX jacket is comedy gold 😂 I have genuinely looked for one on ebay but to no avail, would love to turn up at funeral in one just to see if anyone got the reference 🙈😂
😂
The way she snapped at the end 😂
I'm pretty sure that slap was full force and connected and was scripted to.
Honestly, series 2 is even better.
In addition Steve Coogan brilliantly portrayed Stan Laurel in 'Stan and Olly'.
His Jimmy Savile portrayal in the BC mini-drama was creepily accurate.
Without the creation of Alan Partrridge, I can confidently say we wouldn't have had David Brent (*U.K. Office [and obviously the American Office's Michael Scott]]), or Mark Corrigan (Peep Show)
Just incase your not aware there is lots more Partridge series to watch , the latest being called " This time" . There are his documentary's " Scissored Isle" and " I Partridge" his autobiography, and a pod cast of one of his radio shows called " Mid morning matters" and even an acclaimed feature film called " Alpha Papa" ! I think his fisr TV appearance was on " The day today" but only a small part
Coogan was also in a film called The Parole Officer and had another series called Saxondale where he played a former roadie who becomes a pest control officer.
Saxondale is genius..
He's done loads of good stuff: Paul & Pauline Calf, Toni Ferrino, Dr Terrible's House of Horrible, etc. Just nothing as iconic, relatable, fleshed-out, etc as Alan Partridge.
Saxondale is excellent and doesnt get the recognition it deserves
"Coogan's Run" was excellent as well where he had 1 episode dedicated to each of his various character creations.
Cant wait for the episode where Alan befriends Dan played by Stephen Mangan who ends up being a ' swinger' . The bit where he keeps shouting across to Dan has me in hysterics !
Not as good as the color of Alan; Dante fire places, & a glittering year ahead.
Normally just laugh at the cringe stuff, but that moment's painful. The glee on his face and the number of times he carried on saying it!
‘They’re sex people Lynn!’
My brother made that same jacket and wore it to my Grandmothers funeral as she and my family are big Partridge fans, it was great :)
listen to the audiobook of his autobiography. it's all these stories (and much more) but from his perspective so he's always the hero, read in character
AP is great in The Day Today.
After this you need to watch mid morning matters, as Daniel has been dying for the radio show and it is just Alan doing his show in all its glory
The Black Beauty theme is worth a review, very uplifting it was UK 70's children's tv show based upon an 18th novel about a horse and yes Alan moves out of the Hotel for season two but the setting is still very Alan....
Towering Alan (1970s movie The Towering Inferno.)
Mate!! I see Alan partridge every time I see your videos. Best thing is, I don't think he knows 😂
I love that Spencer named two Beatles compilation albums (red and blue) to prove partridge was an idiot for saying the best of the Beatles. Classic Richard Madeley moment.
I love how you 2 still struggle with our nuances 😂😂😂😂 no one farted..... the fella was irritating 😂😂😂😂 brilliant
According to Armando Iannucci, what's in Alan's drawer is a copy of a Dutch, uh, 'special interest' magazine called Dikke Vrouwen op de Toiletten.
Which I'm told means "fat women on the toilet".
Series Two is very different but the saying "That was classic Intercourse" will I guarantee, bring a smile to your face for years to come after you hear him say it.
Yes !! Been waiting for this 😂
He's also in THE OTHER GUYS as the crooked financier.
I'm with Alan on the general public thing.
Fun fact - the guy who plays Ben in the hotel is in Ted Lasso playing the journalist Trent Crimm.
Steve was great in the Laurel And Hardy biopic.
Ye should react to, Alan Partridge scissored isle. I think it's the funniest thing he's done. It up on CZcams already, might save you having to edit to video.
"Cease fire!"
@@Rhubba haha, that and inspecting an E by biting a corner off it. 😂
The non-evolution of Alan is just a work of genius and covering so many branches of his life.
I wonder if any comedy character in history comes close to Alan Partridge in terms of character depth and lore? A few sitcoms ran for decades and had consistent characters (e.g. Del Boy, Sam Malone, Fred Flinstone) but I don't think any of them had a varied, evolving life to the same extent as Alan Partridge.
series 2 is fantastic, looking forward to seeing you react to it
I saw Kevin Eldon on the London Underground once. He looked intense lol
His latest Alan partridge series This Time is great and deffo one to watch.
The receptionist loosing her shit with Alan is great
Steve Coogan was also in a film you might like about Philip Green where he plays Philip Green , its called,, Greed (2019)
The next Series is total gold. More from Michael and one of my favourite comedy lines ever.
You guys need to know what a "99 Ice Cream" is first.
Nice doing stuff at this pacier pace ;) probably avoiding youtube cencorship a bit too ;)
Steve Coogan was also in a film you might like about Paul Raymond where he plays Paul Raymond it's called,, The look of love (2013)
I went to see Alan live a couple of years ago with his show 'Stratagem'. Feckin hilarious.
You should also check out his movie, 'Alpha Papa'.
Please please watch the Royle Family! Amazing series, extremely funny and emotional at times.
Alan featured on radio as a sports presenter, and seemed curiously obsessed by " groin strains ."
❤ I get the reference Spencer you DWAD 😂😂😂
Some lines from series 2 out of context.
"Lynn...it's hotter than the sun!"
"Stop getting Bond wrong!"
"Dan! Dan! Dan! Dan!"
"Don't shine a torch in my face, mate, l've lost a pint of blood "
Living in hotels is common in America where families can live in hotels for months or even longer.
Never knew this.
@@anitahargreaves9526there are numerous videos on CZcams about this.
The deleted scenes for I'm Alan Partridge are really funny too.
It just gets better!!!
The second series isn’t quite as good as this one but it has classic Partridge moments for sure!😂
1:22 I didn’t know that!! :O although then again I don’t think I knew Alan Partridge back when that film came out
You should watch the movie 24 Hour Party People where Steve stars as music impresario and dubbed Mr Manchester Tony Wilson
Don't worry, series two is more of the same and reaches new heights, just from a different location.
And yeah, the faces Alan pulls in the lift isn't about farting. It's because the other guy is talking crap and keeps chuckling for no reason.
There’s a 5/6 year time gap between season 1 & 2 being made, Season One came out in 96 and Two came out in 2001 or 2002
Alan was like an adult as a child and like a child as an adult
You guys should check out Chris Morris's stuff (The Day today, Brass Eye, Blue jam)
Please do series 2!!
Please watch the Alan Partridge movie 'Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa'
Keven Elden fucking hilarious
You 2 guys are definitely not Dossers and DwaDs
Season 2 is even better.
You need to do the. Alan Partridge film set at North Norfolk Digital with the siege : Alpha Papa. Very, very funny and a great drama
Beezow Doo-Doo Zopittybop Bop Bop, didn’t he get arrested for something decades ago? It’s hard to forget a name like that, so I got the reference instantly lol
Do you Americans understand that (12:34) - or do you need someone to translate?
_Although_ ...he _does_ later say 'You can PUFF away now' (13:19)
..which doesn't narrow it down any. Either scenario (US or UK) is equally likely.
You gotta do the first series.
Knowing me Alan Partrige knowing you Embrace the Suck AHAAAAA 😂
It's all the funnier to me because, when it first aired, there was a generation that didn't realise it was a parody. I clearly recall my grandfather saying "I don't like that Alan Partridge. He's very rude to his guests." and, I suppose, if you don't realise it's all an act then that's exactly the right reaction. He was very rude to his guests.
around the world in 80 days and philomena,,,two of his other films one with jackie chan and the other with dame judy dench
Could you review - she’s a naughty girl - Mr g summer heights high it’s the full song put out by the same guy who does Jam’ie private school girl/ summer heights high.
Movie Alpha Papa wasnt great,Mid morning Matters and this time with alan partridge was awesome
The "Best of the Beatles" album is a very subtle joke. There WAS an album called "Best of the Beatles" released by Pete Best who was once a Beatle but left before they got big. He put the album out with that title as a joke. Alan doesn't know that of course...
Alba stereo is the cheapest brand in the UK, generic Chinese stock rebranded for Argos.
What your imagination can place in Alan's draw has got to be 100 times worse than anything they could ever show on the bbc😱
What’s in Alan’s draw is a bit like the suitcase from Pulp Fiction in the Partridge world.
I'm pretty sure there was actually a Beatles compilation album from the mid 60s called The Beatkes Greatest Hits or a title very similar to that so technically Alan was naming his favourite album even though he likely never heard it or any Beatles songs apart from the radio friendly stuff 😂
Aha!
Jurassic park 💪🏻
Love that you lads have covered this series....amazing....but the editing is always out of sync.....is this on purpose ?
AAAHAAAAAA
Watch the movie. Alpha Papa
My mate once went to a charity shop and picked up a cassette called 'Sounds Like the Beatles'. Well worth a look for the Beatles completionist. Awful!! 😂
An American Partridge? As Alan would say, "Back of the net!" (or as USA Alan might say, "Touchdown!").
Schitt's Creek ripped-off the "guy falling ill/dead as he's about to sign a contact" gag
Series 2 isn't as good imo. The character changes a bit too much for me.
Please watch the very first series, knowing me, Knowing you. It's genius
Partridge wants to BBC man 'in the stocks' ' ? ......"The stocks, pillory, and pranger each consist of large wooden boards with hinges; however, the stocks are distinguished by their restraint of the feet.
The stocks consist of placing boards around the ankles and wrists, whereas with the pillory, the boards are fixed to a pole and placed around the arms and neck, forcing the punished to stand.
Victims may be insulted, kicked, tickled, spat on especially between the toes, or subjected to other inhumane acts. In the Bible, the treatment of Paul and Silas, disciples of Jesus, was detailed in the Acts of the Apostles: "Having received such a charge, he put them into the inner prison and fastened their feet in the stocks."[2] The Old Testament's book of Job also describes the stocks, referring to God:"
These two youtubers are misunderstanding SO many jokes in these reactions that it is quite painful. The joke WASN'T that Def leppard and UB40 were NOT "bitpop", in fact, in their generation they WERE "britpop". Actually, the joke was that Alan's knowledge of britpop is a whole generation behind but he's trying desperately to sound "cool" by using the only out of touch information he has. The cringe is the humour.
Yh he's one of our gems TV just isn't this funny anymore
I don't arf love you. 🇬🇧👵🤔
The second series is brilliant. There was a change of writers for the second series and one of Britains best ever comedians, Bruce Forsyth took over the writing. Check out Bruce Forsyth’s generation game on CZcams which is considered one of Britain’s top ever comedy shows. The character Alan Partridge was based off a character called Inspector Blake from a show called On the Buses, another top show that you should do next.
Either you're smoking something or I'm missing a gag
Advice to Spencer & Dan: Most of the post above is made up, apart from the second series being brilliant (which it is imho).
Do you get your drugs from the dark web🤒
@@markcutting6504 I don't use drugs, nor do I post misinformation in a vain attempt to be "funny".
“Good game good game”
A lot of the purists will tell you this is the best series of the show but series 2 is even better I think 😂 I won’t ruin it for you but there are some new characters and even though we miss some of the old, the new ones don’t disappoint!
