Hi , please can you advise if you need to use the Walksnail Goggles to receive the HD OSD feed from the Walksnail VTX ? .. I’m new to the HD FPV and looking to switch over from analogue FPV .. thanks in advance

Do you think it would be okay to use this VTX without the metal case like the 1s VTXs to get the weight down? I like the camera and antenna that come with this one and the price is pretty comparable to the 1s.

I used to get jello on my camera with that style servo Pan you have until I took off the control horn and stuck a o-ring between it and the servo body to tighten it up.. Jello was gone after that

On the video "Jello", I have a "News Flash!" for you- but first- Thanks for the videos. Keep keeping them short and sweet, sharing what you do and what you learned. We are all learning along with you. RE "JELLO"- everyone flying models like these has jello issues to one degree or another. It it not your fault, or the camera manufacturers fault, and NO, no amount of image stab. is going to fix it completely- it is simply a consequence of everything being so light and in a high vibration environment. There is a reason why the real cinema guys (who the movie companies use) use quadcopters that weight 30-40 lbs. That said, here are some tips to minimize the "Jello" A) You mentioned you are balancing the props- keep doing that as ultra fanatically as you can. B) Vibration mount your motors with 4 cylindrical mounting dampers in an "X" config., w/each mounted at a 45 deg. inward or outward angle. Sorbothane is by far the best material for this, but not so easy to source/expensive. Many other materials can do a decent job and are much less expensive/easy to get. C) Ultra-Rigidly attach your camera and servo and video transmitter, and even 1-2 other things to one ultra rigid (metal or CF) frame, and them mount all that you your model using the same vibration isolation method as described for the motor. D) Avoid the nose, tail, or either wingtip as a mounting point. The center of the model is always the best from a least vibration perspective. In the case of THIS model here, the nose is actually not so bad.

I noticed that today as well with the cruise throttle. Amp draw VS normal throttle Amp draw noticed that today and I thought that was very weird as well. It was also my first time flying. Inav 7.1. On my swordfish

The foam nose looks much nicer. Like how you set up the pan servo, almost like it was meant to be. Interesting how the gps altitude had such an influence over the integrated altitude even with sensor fusion. The wild jumps in altitude based on poor gps might be something the INAV devs might want too look into. Great tips on the mods. Glad to hear it's now a fun flyer.

Have you ever had issues with moisture/humidity when flying through or near clouds? Do you do anything to protect electronics from this?

What's your thought on vtx in the back (if cable length wasn't an issue), then use batteries as your balance adjustment?

Great video! Thank you for posting this. I’m in the build process for my firstinav plane on a swordfish! . Mostly curious about your battery size for this kind of flight. I am already set up on lipo and plan on running that versus lithium ion. What battery size would you suggest for this typical flight?

How much did this cost out the door with all the upgrades that you've done? I want to get this aircraft and set it up very similarly so my daughter can fly it around but I need to get the budget to gether so I can see the idea to my other half lol

I like the way they have mounted the servos directly in the tail, makes it very tidy looking. I have not flown any of my planes or multi-rotors for a couple of years now, I can see I will want to update a lot of stuff when I do get back into it. Hd video for a start. I also want to give this ELRS a try, I still have the old R9 stuff from FrSky on my planes, from memory I think I had begun to have a lot of range issues with it all the last time i flew. So when I get my mojo back for flying i will update a few things. After watching so many HD flight videos like yours I know i am going to be disappointed with my old analog set up.

Vibration might be your issue. Also go back to three-blade props (may or may not help)

Nice review. It's great to see someone demo with 2-blade props as have similar concerns with 3-blades getting ground strikes. Look forward to seeing some efficiency data once you're able to cruise in nice weather conditions. For the barometer, you could try bench testing by powering up flight controller to see what happens over the course of a what would be normal flight time. My guess is a defective barometer sensor. INAV logging might be able to record both GPS altitude and baro height values. It's possible the barometer is not outputting any data, and just getting luck with GPS readings and sensor fusion. An INAV dev might have some tips on how to cross verify.

What do you prefer for laminating your foam planes? I've used a thinned E6000 as a sealer, but it doesn't last long.

I only trust Matek flight controllers. Never any barometer problems either. I always disable the compass in INAV7.1. Planes don't need them. Great video.

If this is 7.1, there may be an issue reported for the baro thingy

That plane looks like an aerodynamic disaster. huge plate, fat fuselage, then the fuselage ends abruptly, and a V-tail (eyes roll) behind that... I guess it makes some sense if the plane needs to be extremely modular, but there are other ways to do that too. well, good to see you doing your thing and getting some flying in! :)

had same baro problem, with speedybee and mag gps. try disconnecting mag wires from flight controller.. it worked for me. inav was unable to arm, baro fail.

hmm got a Penguin and looking at this or a swordfish on the side. I like that the servo's are on top. yet I like the looks of the swordfish more.
