- I wasn't planning a flight today, but everything sort of fell into place, so I went for it. Glad I did! It was a fun flight watching the storm from the air.

We had nearly 2000 lightning strikes per hour across the bay to the east of us. Nice show. Every time you looked away, we got to see a bolt.
Nice, those lighting shows are always fun to watch from a distance... lol
Excellent flight, Keith! The T1 Ranger is my go-to plane for those spontaneous moments when I look up at the sky and say to myself, "Why am I not flying right now?!"

I do have DVR recorded in the receiver with no OSD. I could probably pull some nice screenshots from it lol

Yeah this was a fun flight. I wish I'd get the chance to fly with weather like that more often. Most of the time storms mean wind and rain though. I've been very close to ordering the Dolphin myself a few times, it looks like a nice plane. If I didn't have too many now I'd get one.

FYI: if see fog forming after sunset, there's a good chance it will be around until a bit after sunrise, unless the air drys out significantly overnight.
As much as I'm NOT a morning person, at all... lol I'm going to have to try to catch some early morning fog flights soon. It's been way too long since I've been able to fly over the fog.

Yep, there's one video of that plane. It was the old "Easy Glider Clone". I dug through some old RCGroups posts, it was sold by Icon R/C, called the "Hawk". The wing off that glider is the one I eventually used on the Frankenstein Slow Stick thing I flew for ages... lol

Yeah it is. Oddly enough this is about the worst it gets, as it gets darker it's even easier to see, to a point of course. Right around susnet it seems to have trouble keeping the ground exposed. It looks better once it's a little darker than it was here, or of course earlier in the day too.

What battery would you recommend for the ranger?
I got a 4s 2200mah Zeee off Amazon, but even pushed all the way back to the spar it makes the plane so nose heavy I had to add weights to the tail to get the CG right.
Hi Keith, did you retune T1 for the 21700 battery? I switched to Molicell p42a recently as well and the plane feels like it needs to be tuned for it
No I didn't touch anything after I'd tuned it recently while flying the 18650s. I only picked up about 65g overall though, versus what it was with the old battery. I kept the CG the same too.
Fab video. Is the footage stabilized from the cam or do you have to do post processing via gyroflow?
The camera records gyro data and you stabilize it with Gyroflow later. However the video here is not stabilized. In fact it's the live feed to the ground that's recorded from the HDMI output using a capture card and PC.
