fun fact: water and electronics can mix IF the electronics are off
the more you know
Nah they be rusty again
Yeah but you have to dry it correctly, otherwise contacts oxidize
That’s what I was thinking but still the video is so fake
It needs to then be washed by distilled water though, to get rid of the minerals from the regular water
And if water is pure H2O without minerals (I forgot it's name sory)
You actually can wash pc parts in water. Just make sure that you dont have ANY leftover electricity left and let it dry REALLY well before powering it back.
Nice video tho)
I was coming here to say that. Thanks

Even then though soap would destroy it, it has to he distilled water for it to not damage anything.
The wrong thing about that video is that he didn't remove the CMOS battery and the CPU, making it pointless.
You can wash electronics with water as long as there's no power being put into the electronic
Rust: im bout to ruin this kids whole career
Yep also if there is water left after it’ll short the components out. And seeing he’s a fraud tells me that he didn’t dry it out properly.
@@astrobob135 yes
While that is true, the motherboard has a cmos battery installed so atleast some of the build would not work
Corrosion is a thing that exists. And your motherboard always has a battery in it.
You're not big brained for thinking a short is the only issue with washing these with water.
Theres a reason tech repair places usually have tubs of alcohol to bath these components when they get a tiny bit of water on them.
There are several videos about restoration, but the animal rescue videos genuinely disturbed me the most.

@@MackSmith-ir4fwNah you can see it's soapy water which is conductive regardless
He just dried the electronics well so it ended up working since they need to be on to be affected
Yea but unless u turn it on while its covered with Water NOTHING will break
Worked in electronics PCB assembly/manufacturing. The complete PCB assembly with components is washed in essentially a dish washer. It used RO (reverse osmosis) water with mixed-bed ion-exchange resin and carbon filters to very clean water (high purity, low conductivity). In fact, the way we knew to swap out the mixed-bed tanks was based on the conductivity readings. Edit: The restoration is definitely faked, no doubt about that... 😂
From someone who used to work in pcb manufacturing, we would regularly put boards through a wash cycle. Sometimes just water and sometimes water and chemicals, this was mostly to get corrosive flux off after soldering

right next to the car batteries, so the electric eels have something to do.
Generally, you can wash your mobo in water, and everything will be okay, though you have to unplug everything AND remove the CMOS battery (which is a 2032 battery). When he washed the mobo, the CMOS battery was still in it. so yes, it is fake.

Fun Fact: Everything this guy says is just plain wrong. Most PC cases on the market are made of metal, which can rust, and water and electronics can mix unless you turn the electronics on.
Rewatch the footage from the fake PC restoration channel. There is "rust" on plastic parts such as the on/off switch.
Cleaning motherboards with water is possible, but you'd have to remove the CMOS battery and wait for all capacitors to have properly discharged.
Anyhow, the way most of these fake restoration videos work is they are mostly played in "reverse": they show off the computer in fully working order first, then take it apart, record footage of cleaning the parts when still in mint/okay-ish condition.
Then they apply all sorts of paint, mud, etc etc onto it and dump it in a sketchy area (which is often or not the first thing you'll see in the video). The "dumped" pc will then be taken back for disassembly and "cleaning".
These videos tend to get lots of views because lots of individuals are way too gullible to fact check something and assume most of the time that something's real.
@@hereis_Tiffok I’m not trying to defend the guy but can’t the rust drip onto the plastic and thus staining it?
@@JosueHernandez-nu5cp not without liquid being involved. From reviewing the footage I couldn't see any liquid on the plastic button (there are other plastic parts but the button stands out the most)

Water and computers work as long as the computer isn't wet when it's turned on
You can in fact washed electronics and cut it board, just not while they’re on. if they’re off and capacitors are dry you can submerge it in water, clean it etc. as long as nothing was knocked off, the boards wasn’t scratched and it’s fully dry; it’ll work just fine afterwards

Yes people do wash electronics, but its most likely they use water without minerals (a.k.a distilled water). Its not actually water that damages electronics, its the minerals inside
You can use normal water, but it's a good idea to rinse it off with isopropyl alcohhol so none of the minerals from the water get left behind. Even if they do, it's not gonna instantly ruin anything but it's better to get it off. You can also use a duster or compressed air to force all the water out and that should be good enough.
it’s not paint it’s him setting the pc in a liquid that adds fake rust
„If you know anything about electronics“ without knowing anything about electronics

plastic parts can have rust on them if they’re in close proximity to things that are rusty
Plot twist the narator of the video is the one making this dumb video
I know a lot of people commented this already, but water and electronics can mix as long as the electronics do not have any power and are allowed to dry off completely. Adrian from Adrian's Digital Basement sometimes washes motherboards this way in some of his videos. I've also used this technique (Adrian's, not the restoration faker's) to clean an old Win95 machine's motherboard.
It needs to be deionized water and you still risk warping the board if not dried properly
we know the guy in the video just knows nothing about electronics@@Sauce787
@@Sauce787 not to mention if it's actually _rusted_ there's probably going to be a lot of issues.
You can still get electronics wet as long as they’re off, its the conductivity of the electricity that the water interacts with.
Fun fact, you can run a pc under water, just make sure it’s distilled and the pc is completely CLEAN since you don’t want any conductive material/element in it like normal water does (NaCl, Na is Sodium which is conductive)
You can wash pc parts just leave them for like 6-12 months out without plugging them in and then it’ll work
bro pulled the 6-12 months out of his ass 💀💀
Months? More like hours
Just use a blower
Hours, not months.
You can wash PC with water, BUT NOT SOAPY WATER HOLY SHIT THAT WILL MURDER THE MOTHERBOARD.
Bro thought he was him until he got exposed
I think this man is more powerful than physics itself got me 😂😂
i have ran so many mother boards through the dish washer over the years to do 99% of the cleaning no soap
Fun fact: some pc's are metal cased! (this one isn't lol) because plastics on and off switches don't rust bro
fun fact:
electronics schools teach you to use water to clean it, or better, alcohol to do so because it is good for the components.
Back in my day we didn't have any store's so we go to Search in the mud for a pc situp
You can wash devices with specific liquids like distilled water (basically mineral-free water). You can also do it if it's turned off.
Bro was scraping the mother board too😭
as the comments stated, you can wash electronics with water, but you can scrub circuit boards with small components and expect them to stay in place and not get removed. he literally took off all of pcbs, transistors, etc. the motherboard is now just a board
I'd be more concerned about finding a PC out in the wild that was abandoned for "no reason".
water will not affect the components if theyre turned off.
This guy was so confident in his electronics and water "fact" 💀
Honestly, screw myself for thinking those were real
to be fair a motherboard will still work if it gets wet but it HAS to be completly dry when you turn it on.
Me: yo bro, where did u get ur pc?
Bro: I found it outside
Electronics engineer here, we clean our circuits with water… especially in the fabrication process.
Water is only harmful to electronics if it is on and creates a short which is an extra pathway for current to go through.
This has the potential to damage components.
Fun Fact: Short Circuits can be applied to the human heart as well, if someone has an arrhythmia like AVNRT for example, this is due to an extra pathway in the heart caused by extra tissue. Your heart is literally powered by electricity just like your computer’s motherboard is. There are Electronics Engineers for the human heart called Electrophysiologists.
Fun fact, its not the water that fries your parts its the minerals within it. You can dump distilled water all over your parts and they’ll function just fine.
Bro is faker than Santa lol
Me and my friends in our A+ computer repair class were making fun of how fake theses videos are

But the asmr of it like the scrubbing and we all know we watch it because it’s satisfying
i remember a restoration video when guy is just washing opened HDD
1. Might be dirt
2. Could be any Kind of Paint or something, we dont see what colour IT is
3. You can very well wash electronics with water, Just make sure theyre disconnected and all the batteries are taken out + they are fully dried when Put back in.
But yeah its fake
Comments already spoke for me abt the water on the mother board
fun fact: as previously stated in another comment, he didnt actually make sure he could clean it with water. as he still had the CMOS battery connected.
Fun fact: water does not harm electronics, it’s the minerals in the water that make it conducive. distilled or deionized water is not conducive therefore does no harm to computers
Bro my head started spinning when he was using soap and water for that motherboard and on top of that mtf was SCRUBBING IT
my eyes got damaged when he washed the mobo with water
Water and electric components can mix and still work but only with low conductivity clean or distilled water/oil. even water damaged componenets can be fixed as long as cleaned and dried after using distilled water as long as nothing was short circuited.
bro said: i dont obey the law, I am the law
Thanks for exposing them, more please
They need "The Greatest Technician That's Ever Lived" to restore this PC properly 😅
Electronics can get wet if they aren’t powered, but you have to let em dry for like a year to make sure they are 100% dry
I don't think people care if it's fake or not. The guy makes money on entertainment, not fraud.
Bro cleaned it so good that components changed themselves out
Fun fact, you can actually use water in electricity. It’s not water. It’s the materials in the water that makes the electronics not work. You can clearly buy material and your electronic will be fine in it.
Wait until you find out I wash my keyboards in the dishwasher and then soak them in alcohol afterwards.
Thanks we were all stumped on this one and had no idea if its fake or not
The power supply might be toast but this video could be real.
Why is everything slowly getting more fake
Fun fact water doesn’t conduct electricity it’s the particles and stuff in it, I used a special water and mix it with alcohol to clean electronics all the time, doesn’t damage them. Look into ultrasonic motherboard cleaning, although figuring out your own cleaning mixture isn’t the easiest.
water doesn’t damage electronics as long as they are turned off, but the problem can still happens and that is rust
