      @BenWeatherill Před 8 měsíci +113

      Okay, I like Arun, his mostly right about a lot of tech, but his experience with his EV does not match the majority of EV users in the UK. I've been driving EV for 4 years now and I've had 0 issues, I've never had to wait 3 hours for a charge, EVER. The issue he made here is the EQS is just not a good car, sure it says Mercedes on the front, but they're are reletively inexperienced making EVs. Tesla, Kia, Hyundi, BYD, MG, Fiat, Audi all make far better EVs and have significantly more experience at making them.
      Also there is significant misinformation in his 'opinion' on this. Traffic does not impact EV batteries. If the car isn't moving, its barely using energy. The heater will make a small impact but most EVs are now heat pump based and you'll be looking at losing 1-2% of battery per hour at the most.
      Range lies, well thats on Mercedes here. My Tesla Model 3 gets the range stated most of the time in Spring/Summer/Autumn, maybe 20% less in winter.

      It's well known if you want to drive distance Tesla is the only option. Good range and a charging network you can rely on.
      On the positive side the experience will only get better as more chargers open.

    • @Lord_Winchester
      @Lord_Winchester Před 8 měsíci +48

      @@BenWeatherillBut do you regularly drive 300 Miles like he said he does? Sure, it's really bad marketing on Mercedes, but the problem persists. Finding a free charger, when you are in dire need of one is way more challenging than finding a free pump. And if a pump is occupied, it's available within the next 5 minutes. A charge-stop can set you back another 30 minutes to a couple of hours. Sure, you could just charge up for like 10 minutes, but then you are back at the same problem after 100 miles.
      Commuting with an EV makes sense, if you can recharge overnight. But for longer distances it's just painful.

    - Louder noise from bigger keys hitting
    - Longer travel , hence slower and harder typing , and
    - Keys having wide gaps , often wedging my fingers
    Mechanical keyboards gave me a terrible typing experience and I would rather go get a more convenient scissor switch or low profile membrane keyboard over going through the effort of finding the specific keys and switches .

      Mechanical keyboards are overrated IMO. They used to be very common back in the 80's and 90's but fell out of favor for membrane keyboards, who where softer and quieter. Try working in an office with 20 of those being used at the same time and you'll understand why... Main reason why they are making a comeback now it's due to the influencer hype and the fact they have become a sort of status symbol among gaming enthusiasts.
      If you've got a mechanical keyboard and it works for you then great, but the reality is most people don't need one. The best keyboard you can get is one you like and feel comfortable using. Membrane keyboards are cheaper, quieter and often times sleeker (which makes them more ergonomic without needing to buy extra accessories like wrist rests). And honestly, why spend 100-200$ when you can just go for a fully functional 20$ keyboard?
      I understand the alure of following the hype train and wanting to try things, but really, more important than what others say is what you think is best for you and your situation... Don't feel bad if your opinion doesn't align with current trends.

    • @orsteinnkristjansson5315
      @orsteinnkristjansson5315 Před 8 měsíci

      i think it's a use case issue, main reason for choosing mechanical keyboards is N-Key rollover (ability to hold down many keys at once and they all register), Membrane keyboards are usually 4-Key rollover up to 6-Key (4 key meaning you can hold down any 4 keys and they all register but 5th might cause the keyboard to report no key being pressed) depending on key position and some special keys (Shift-Alt-Ctrl) you can go over the listed value but its listed as the minimum you can be sure works.
      For writing where most multi key uses are Shift + Letter, Ctrl + S and Ctrl + P, Any membrane will do fine.
      For Gaming or certain IT tasks where you set up multi-key keyboard macros for some tasks you will want at least 6-key rollover or a mechanical keyboard.

      Downsides on this KB are the detachable pins or the wrist rest are not particularly sturdy and the size of some keys are different that most brand so you need custom keys.

Sound - many users don't care about the noise they make(plus there are so many types of switches with various levels of .. well everything). The wrist strain - easy to solve with a wrist rest. Bottoming out - again, different switches with different levels of everything.
      Sure, some people don't like mechanical switches, but if you really give it a proper go, there's no going back. That said, I would not reccomend anyone getting into it if they like their membrane switches, mechanical gets very expensive very quickly.

    I HATE my BlendJet. I got one simply because I wanted the sort-of "one cup" size blend while I was watching my health. Was also a bit sold on the easy cleaning method, which as mentioned, is not great.
    To expand on the video, BlendJet's motor is very weak. My goal was to put in frozen fruits and skim milk with things like chia seeds and hemp hearts for a cold morning smoothie. These absolutely suck at blending anything with any force. When I put frozen fruit in, the blade gets half a second in, then just stops. Then, the light starts blinking red. After adjusting the contents over and over, you get it to blend a tiny bit more.
    Then, the damn thing just immediately runs out of battery. It has an effective battery life of around 10 minutes, no joke. You can't even plug it in once it stops and use it, because it has to recharge slowly to near full to regain its already limited power.
    It's absolutely frustrating, and if you want to blend stuff, just get a normal blender.

I sold my XSX as I was disappointed and tired of waiting, and waiting, and waiting for good exclusive games, so I understand Arun completely. If PS5 offers the same multiplatform titles AND better exclusive titles, what's the benefit of Xbox? None.

      @@being_mr_gamer386 You actually can, but you'd have to use the used market. If you want new you can get a PC for around $700 (you need gold to play online on Xbox so it'll pay for itself anyway) plus you can get that for $400 by just getting a PS5. Xbox is really not in a good position at all right now and people only buy it because of the "most powerful" claims (I know it's technically more powerful but tests have shown that PS runs games better) and because of brand loyalty. It's either PC or PS now, Xbox shouldn't be a consideration and I'd never recommend it to anyone.

    Mechanical keyboards vary a lot, and I would say some of your issues there come not from it being mechanical, but characteristics of that one that simply do not suit you.
    There are low profile switch options with significantly less travel, and certain switches or o-rings to cushion the bottoming out, and with lower noise than clicky audible feedback ones.
    There are keyboard designs, and maybe even modifications to reduce the sound even more.
    But those still may not make it a good fit for you personally.
    If a membrane keyboard suits you well, there isn't a need to change.
    Mechanical keyboards vary such a huge amount, it would be ignorant of someone to declare a keyboard better for someone for reason of it being mechanical alone.

      Windows provides that for free. Even upgrading from a new version of Windows is free for the first 5 to 10 months of release and Windows PCs come standard with a 2 year warranty without paying extra. But don't get me wrong Apple PCs are good and reliable PCs for business class even the old PowerMac G5s are still great PCs today, but that's it.

    Damn, this video was more of an eye opener than I thought.
    I've been wooe'd so many times by the BlendJet commercial, but damn your experience broke the marketing spell they had on me.
    Mac pro was obvious, especially after Apple Silicon. It's actually impressive how good the Apple Silicon chips are.
    The mechanical keyboard issue is something I always related to. I've always felt the same and I can type much faster on my laptop keyboard.
    The EQS and electric cars in general really do have an industry wide issue where they exaggerate range and charging speed. I love EVs but I cant recommend it to people when they overhype the specs like this.
    And lastly the PC handheld gaming. It is frankly overhyped and I am glad someone actually took the time to lay out the practicality of it,

    There's a right and wrong way to enter the mechanical keyboard world, and some would argue that what you picked is the wrong way, but also one of the most common ways. You should revisit the them in the more enthusiast segments where the boards are essentially supposed to be customized to be catered to your wants and needs.
