That was a incredibly locked in flight, especially the RTL landing at the end. Did you do any specific tuning or change any custom parameters to get it to fly so well? Mine is all over the place during RTL landing
Hey, I am one of your subscribers and I love your videos! The throw was too much in this flight, so the T1 was shaking sometimes. I made some change to parameters and add a Lidar sensor on my T1. I can share you my Ardupilot parameter file if you want it, but just be cautious when using it. @ I just checked your newest video, and thinking maybe you didn't disabled the Q_WVANE_ENABLE,? That will make your plane look for wind direction during landing. Great videos. I was hoping to get my first vtol. What made you say you liked your swordfish more than the Heewing? Are most people just converting dual prop planes? As I did not see the swordfish vtol kit? I really need 3D printer Also, how do you get colored graphics and dancing skull overlay on OSD? Is this through ardupilot mission planner? I am just familiar with old school analog font OSD. Thanks
Haha, the Swordfish is larger so it's smoother than T1 during flight. I brought Vtol kit from TaoBao China, you won't be able to buy it if you don't have a Chinese Taobao account, but you can mod some Vtol part on Thingivers to fit the swordfish. I mod my DJI with WTFOS to get the OSD colored, but the dancing skull is from video editor😆😆. Yes, I use Ardupilot on my Vtols.😄
I like the idea of putting your hd vtx in the tail but are there any cog issues doing it this way also I like your choice of music, great video thanks.

Why? They just need something that can fly to a area fast and give intel/bomb, they have no use for vtol in my oppinion, plus it saves the weight of a motor and a ESC and stuff for more range/flight time, but it is a nice toy :). Also hovering mode, would, in my guess make more noise downwards then if it just cirkles above a target, though hovering would maybe make it less easy to spot it with the naked eye compared to a moving object.. Only plus is, its probably easier to land in rugged terrain..

@@BornIIfly i think you misunderstand, the VTOL plane is a toy in my eyes, its not really in my oppinion practical for military use. Like, if you carry alot of weight, and are not limited by takeoff space, a regular takeoff is 100% prefered considering power use. If your flying urban areas, between buildings and stuff, 100% quad/tri drone would be prefered. VTOL has limited "unique" uses for military ect, but its fun to play with, i dont see any specific reason why you commercially would need both in one. I do know military has some VTOL planes, but they are used mainly where takeoff space is a limiting factor.

You have to cut out some foam and use thin wires to run through the Carbon rod. No issues at all
