This is my first time ever playing one of the versions of MLB The show. Is it normal for it to be so easy to find good pitching prospects through Discovery but very difficult to find any other position? Every draft I can draft 5-6 good to great discovery pitchers. Catcher is nearly impossible. IF and OF are rare. It's frustrating. I end up just trading pitching prospects for the few good top of the draft to non pitchers that other teams draft and still have a loaded pitching staff

Fontenot would probably be too low rated. His high potential doesnt really matter if he is meant to be a backup. Might as well go for the higher OVR Vargas. I think this was an excellent draft on your part. So hard when your team is winning to get good players.

Did you notice that the DO-ble is also top 3 in Runs? He gets on base, hits dingers and gets points. The Do is so much fun in how he's working out. Him and Brown are really representing for Short King power! Hahahaha The draft went great, I would have taken the pitcher Leland over Fontinoe also, the bullpen is what needs to most resources, and he looks like a great candidate to take over Smeltzer's role. Go Rockies!

Man the draft gets rough when you have almost all your main positions filled and you are picking in the backend due to the success of your team.

Definitely did not expect Figueroa to have those numbers, super impressive! If he keeps this up he'd deserve a potential increase, he had 80 potential last year and is already playing above that

Interesting you have everyone going up against lefties. I had the opposite in mine, mostly saw increases against righties

Vergara is ranked so much lower than Fontenot because of their Potential I bet. Fontenot seems like he will be 85 Pot/58 Ovr or something like that. Vergara maybe 78/61. Vergara is looking closer to being MLB ready, might be the better option for a backup C considering his hitting will likely be much better.

Brian Do seems like the kind of home grown talent that would become a huge fan favorite. Drafted by the team, called up to heroic action in the postseason, and starting off the season with a bang.

What are your plans with NCAA, 2k25, MLB the show 25 & Madden 25. I wish in games like Madden u can slow sim games that are User vs User. Having a leauge of 30 ppl that all rebuilding would be cool if you could watch them as CPU vs CPU

Saw my first 80 overall prospect 2027 draft nationals got him #1 still learning the scouting as I didn't catch it, was never in a position to get him, missed out on a top closer on discovery but I took a starter late second thinking he'd make it to the 3rd and someone else found him😢😂😢😂

Carolina has been around forever, gonna have some cool school specific animations, Clemson is a big Rival, have a hometown kid young on roster for QB, not special so storyline there if you recuit special young QB, after Rattler was drafted its wide open, been below avg at best other than the Spurrier/Clowney/Lattimore days for years, if they have Beamer as Coach he's also SC native which is neat, if not he hasn't been there long enough to hurt with a created coach, toughest competition in gameplay has got to be in the SEC

I’m here after I traded for a SP and a closer mid 20’s in the top 80’s from the Royals and the freaking CPU traded my starting pitcher to the Padres for bread crumbs in the offseason trying to fill my triple A and double A roster.

Could Benji Avalos push for that backup infielder spot this year?

Recently on franchise drafted a 21 year old 2B with beginning 90 rating and 94 potential. First and only time I’ve ever seen that. Was able to get him #6 overall. This came at the perfect time as I had a bunch of prospects who I had drafted and developed through the farm system of the Athletics to be ready to compete for a pennant. He slid right into the starting 2B role and an opening day starter.

I love the offseason! Loved hearing your explanations for adding/keeping/dumping a player. I'm excited for Richie James. Offseason best season!

I did a Rockies franchise and Elehuris Montero Hits well above what his stats would suggest. He's a great pinch hitter/platoon player. The only issue is he doesn't feel particularly well. I played him in left field and he did okay. Mostly he's a DH / first baseman. I like him a lot though

Despite losing the WS, you have to be happy about how the team did this year. Clemente Herrera was a playoff beast! And Zac Veen wasn't far behind. The CPU does some weird things (caught stealing, sending runners to get thrown out, etc), but this team will continue to get better. I think losing Morillo made a big difference in the last 2 games. Regardless, this is a great franchise series.

Do any of you CPU v. CPU players know of a way to have teams actually use pinch hitters? I almost never see pinch hitting, and I refuse to stop the game and manually go in just to pinch hit a batter.
