- The Colorado Rockies are stuck in a bad spot. In a division they've never won in their 30 year history and it's not getting any easier. The Dodgers have Shohei and others with an endless payroll, the Diamondbacks just won the NL and have a young team only getting better, and the Padres have major star power themselves.
So it's time to try something completely new to try and overcome these odds: A Draft Only Rebuild.
A staple of the channel, the Draft Only Rebuild challenges us to build the team up using only the Rookie and Rule 5 drafts after we tear down the ENTIRE 40 man roster after the first season.
One major twist added for this year: Trades. I am allowing 3 trades in this series, but only for prospects, and only for one prospect per trade. So we will need to time them right and make sure they hit to ensure we don't waste them.
I am EXTREMELY excited for this project, and if you are too, PLEASE hit the like button on the video and Subscribe to the channel if you haven't already.
Drop any comments about suggestions for the series, I read them all and take all suggestions into consideration.

75 clutch leadoff hitter! His durability is a concern, but what a hitter. Snagging 2 lefty closers really helps your bullpen going forward. Nice draft despite the late whiffs.
those were rough but adding 3 good players in a draft I will take as a win
You keep having unreal drafts and it just makes this series so much more immersive
It keeps giving us more guys to look forward to, which definitely adds to the fun and longevity factors for sure.
Seems like after scouting two MVP candidates the scouts thought their job was done. Maybe they've been feeling themselves a little too much
I think the scouts did really well considering the very narrow scope I had for the draft.
You #1 scouted prospect was 68ovr/98pot. #2 was 59/91. Quite a huge gap between #1&2
Definitely. I think there were better players than Lilly if we had scouted them (the guy the Padres drafted is my first thought) but out of our scouted guys a big gap for sure.
James looks good. Train his contact to be elite! Good draft.
Oh yeah we're going full leadoff hitter skillset with him
What a draft man im not even mad about the other players like that was really good
Yeah 3 contributors in one draft is hard to be mad at. Especially when the first rounder has high A potential.
If you didn’t pick my boy Richie James I would’ve been highly upset great draft you got your NEEDS for the future 🙏☝🏻
Edit
Daily uploads would be lovely 🥹it’s prolly a lot to ask but it’s lovely and I enjoy these
He was definitely the right choice, almost went with a closer instead which would have been a mistake.
I was doing this series daily for a while and then it all slowed down when I got sick. I would like to pick up the pace again for sure but have also been enjoying not having to edit every day haha.
James... great pick! Maybe move to 3B?
That's probably his easiest path to playing time.
I would train James Contact first for he can be that lead off guy
Yeah we will be getting his contact on point.
oof sucks Lilly got taken early, 91 potential.
Yeah I know my plan was so close to working. He would have made the class look much better, though his clutch could have been a problem.
And Ethan salas and excellent deffender but not an offensive player
His defense is very good, which definitely sets a high floor for his impact. If I hadn’t paid him so much money I think there wouldn’t be much of a problem. Still just 22
