- The Colorado Rockies are stuck in a bad spot. In a division they've never won in their 30 year history and it's not getting any easier. The Dodgers have Shohei and others with an endless payroll, the Diamondbacks just won the NL and have a young team only getting better, and the Padres have major star power themselves.
So it's time to try something completely new to try and overcome these odds: A Draft Only Rebuild.
A staple of the channel, the Draft Only Rebuild challenges us to build the team up using only the Rookie and Rule 5 drafts after we tear down the ENTIRE 40 man roster after the first season.
One major twist added for this year: Trades. I am allowing 3 trades in this series, but only for prospects, and only for one prospect per trade. So we will need to time them right and make sure they hit to ensure we don't waste them.

Also would there be any chance of Dorsey getting some OF looks on his days he’s not pitching? That arm of his is too good to not use in the OF
Yeah he could use a height adjustment, but I also like the short stature. Helps him stand out.
For Dorsey I don’t want his energy being drained by playing in the field. He does have en elite arm though.
ROOKIE OF THE YEAR. . . AND NL MVP!!!!! What did I SAY?!?!? Dorsey will go down as the greatest player to ever be in the MLB.
About as great of a start as one could hope for, his expectations and hype continue to climb.
You should consider giving herb reyes a cutter, a starter with only three pitches isn’t very common, especially one who only throws 92. I usually never add pitches to a repertoire but this feels like it could just make it a little more realistic
That's a good idea, I'll definitely consider it in the offseason.

As high of an upside as you can possibly have. Just hoping he can continue to live up to the expectations he is setting for himself.
Dorsey has somehow exceeded the mountain-high expectations, MVP already is wild!
I say start Cerny and put Reyes in the bullpen as damage control. The defense and lefty arm will help, that cardinal offense will murder righty pitchers. Do would be a nice pinch-hitter, a go-to power guy if the team needs some runs.
Yeah I think Reyes lefty arm will be crucial. I am leaning Do though at Center field. I just like the higher upside he brings with the power.
Dorsey is a special talent.
Pretty funny that the CPU traded for Josh Naylor for STL too! Dorsey is almost maxed out as a hitter, and has room to grow as a SP. I cant wait to see his next 2-3 years! I'd go with Cerny in the playoffs and put Do on the bench.
Yeah that made me laugh a bit with Naylor. It's a tough choice between Cerny and Do but I like the upside that Do brings late in the lineup. Cerny is the safer option.
Avalos and some others look like nice trade pieces. Maybe you should revise your rule to trade more. Maybe only a trade down in age (like restrict yourself to 18-19 year olds).
They certainly would be good pieces that could net us something good, but I kind of like having the challenge of no more trades to fill any more holes. With those guys, we can still get good injury insurance for a few years until they start asking for too much money in arbitration and we can move on.
Which camera angles are you using? Or are you just watching the broadcast? It looks amazing
It is just the standard CPU vs CPU camera. I haven't been able to change it, though I agree it's a good angle.
Have you ever seen a team in franchise not sign a single draft pick??? It just happened in my franchise lol the Rockies didn't sign a single player from the draft.

Do the players and prospects that don't have any quirks* ever get them added if their numbers and production are above average? etc. I THINK I read it's a no but idk and was wondering thx SHOW family... have not seen it happen 🙏 quirks = (dead eye, situation hitting, etc.)
They did a couple games ago but removed it last game for some reason. Terrible decision.
Love the series, I started rebuilding after having back surgery in April and watching you and a couple other people doing rebuilds. So with the Rule 5 draft, is there any easy way to see in the game who is eligible thus needing to be protected? I’ve lost so many talented prospects to rule 5 drafts. I know it’s age/service time in the minors but don’t see an easy way to track that besides doing it on my own.
When the off-season starts, there is an “Add people to the 40 man roster” or something like that. That will show you the best of your players eligible, but the player card shows rule 5 eligibility as well on the same tab that shows options used etc.

How much do the manager and coaches’ + or - attributes impact on the players? I know you’ve mentioned that player performance determines the improvements. but I’ve noticed that the manager and coaches skills don’t seem to correlate as I have manager, hitting coach and farm director with a combined +8 power and the players don’t increase that amount. Even players who perform well over the season don’t reach that mark. I wonder if the + attribute only works when you select that attribute in the training section?
What have you noticed when it comes to manager and coaches?
So the number will only increase in an actual game. If you had a player with a 75 power vs R and the coaches are giving him a +8, when he is at the plate it will show his Power vs R as 83. This doesn't show in CPU vs CPU because player ratings aren't shown at the plate but it won't affect their player card outside of a game.
@@fiendfranchise thank you! I have been spending big on them because I thought they were beneficial in a totally different way. I only simulate when I play franchise so I can stop spending so much on them!

But damn I find myself skimming through gameplay
I know cpu vs cpu isn’t for everyone but I find myself getting a lot more enjoyment and satisfaction from watching the team I built succeed rather than doing it myself. I don’t plan on playing games any time soon, at least not with this game.
