I waited so long to finaly have the Haida, first they realy sell it at exhorbitant price with no real commander, what a shame and insult to Canadian, that said, I do pretty good with it being a DD player

So you're dead on about patriotic style players. I was in the Canadian Navy, and during my years in Sea cadets back in the 80s, I had the privilege to spend an entire weekend on board the Haida while she was docked as a museum ship at Ontario place. Yes sleeping in the nostalgic hammocks. She is currently at the Star naval reserve base in Hamilton Ontario. My kids wanted me to get the ship, so they got me ps gift cards for fathers day and I couldn't be more overjoyed getting the full D day package. It's ok for standard play. However, I just enjoy running up the kills in AI mode. 102 AI and 36 standard play so far. 138 ships destroyed. Your suggestion about having a dedicated destroyer commander would be something special. Ok just my input.

Very much thinking: why not play any other IJN battleship available to me already without spending any hard earned steel and arguably would be better suited taking a legendary tier ship out if you are likely matching against them anyway. Even if this ship is a different feel because of its traits with that speed, the secondaries and torpedoes. But an interest ship in any case, I’m sure some players will enjoy her.

I like your thinking on the commander choice for this ship, nearly a full reprint of the health pool overall & more smokes why not. I just barely completed the campaign due to life happening, and have not been out in it since getting it. It definitely has some great tools with the many smokes, excellent repair party and great sonar… though I always struggle not having the ability to torpedo fellow DDs in their smoke, even if the deep water torpedoes are otherwise fairly good. The guns seem to be that weird mix of not many with not great penetration but very fast firing. I do look forward to giving this ship more playtime to see what I can do with it.

Catching up on the backlog of videos I missed during a move IRL. I just managed to get this campaign completed, have not had much time in it. Nice to see a new nation represented. Although I’m not sure about air strikes as a mechanic due to the low test sample of 1 ship with it so far, it’s nice to have something different even if the overall package is looking a bit below average. I do enjoy having another somewhat “underdog” ship where no one expects much from you gives addition stealth of its own by being more likely to be ignored. 😅

Maybe one of your best videos yet. Great overview of the history of this amazing ship. I 've been waiting for this ship for 4 years (since I started playing). My thoughts on this ship pretty much mirror yours. It's like my mouth was moving but your words were coming out. The only thing I'd add is that this is a T6 ship (T7 on PC ) playing against T8's. It's a rare case of a ship being uptiered when being ported over, if you know what I'm saying.

In my very short supertester career Öland was up for release and it had a Polish naval flag on it so hey the flag situation could be worse. With the current sky cancer meta we should send over some Canadian gardeners to weegee developers, maybe they can get the community’s message through? 🤔

I love the Haida mostly got it for my patriotic nature for my country but oh my god please give me DeWolf as a commander. I have gotten great games with Murray as the commander but I wish I had a real DD commander it would make her so much better and DeWolf as the commander would be awesome due to historical reasons and it's DeWolf also I wish for the Canadian flag to be usable on the ship.

I live 10 minutes away from Haida so I had to get it. I enjoy the play style however she needs a buff and a commander.

Our available commander is at least Canadian… but meme “Dewey” builds aside the right historic commander dedicated to this ship hopefully comes to us eventually! I’m beyond thrilled the right historic ship is in this game to represent us Canadians in the game! Not that this is surprising add me to the “patriotic Canadian” list. I absolutely have had a great time in this ship so far, and with the right commander this ship will be amazing! The D-day camo, although not “historic” I appreciate the intent behind it and having a frag ticker if chosen, even if it is a bit of an additional money grab. The creeping smoke is a bit of a fun tool to play around with, ruining incoming predictive aiming while it’s active and creeping up to other DDs in smoke to ruin their days with that sonar helping just a little. Definitely feels like a different “get off my cap” bully gameplay from that Kidd has. Not hopeful for much with that secondary… but always funny if/when that gets the kill!

The deeper we went into the review, the more I thought "Man, Ryan Reynolds is getting worked up over the Canadian commander thing..." 🤣😅🤣Also, just about spit out my drink with the whole "expect Friesland, which doesnt have any torps... or maybe it has just one?" Solid stuff as always and appreciate the content (and the laughs)

Even with a dedicated commander, what does she offer over the Lightning? Same gun reload, yes? Or a bit faster...I forget. deficient in torpedoes, crawling smoke instead of British smoke, ... should have had her 4th turret...probably was built after the change to enhance AA, but still... Great review Tactic! What plans do you have to review the upcoming Hybrid battleships? Though, to be fair, you could probably create a 2 hour movie with just the historical section on Enterprise...so, there's that...

Little things like the inaccurate commonwealth or the made-up panemerican and paneuropean flags, or the fact that they added the Dutch voicelines but Friesland doesn't use them, that are really annoying because you know it's super easy to implement but they're just freaking bored or something. Anyway, great video as always, I wonder why you kept mentioning admiral Wolf all the time..🤔

I got Ferruccio pretty early in the bundle trap they set up for it. To my surprise I really like it! With AL Sara (Mikawa, Mimbelli), I’ve got 8,5km concealment and buffed guns. With 26 games played I’m at 81% WR (admittedly to few games to take that WR seriously) and 1800 average XP (which is not much to write home about considering the WR). I find it’s rather effective, more than I thought. But more than anything I’ve had more fun in it then I’ve had playing the game for a while. It’s also made me revisit some other T6 cruisers that I almost forgot about since I’ve otherwise been almost living in tier 7.

Scott and mikawa are my inspirations. you can use almost anyone and it doesn't have much impact. Air strikes are for camping / bow tanking ships. it really make them pay for not moving.

As a dutch player. Thank you, that you include her sister, and a pretty accurate history about this class. To help you out to pronounce her name, it's duh see ( kinda like sea but without pronouncing the a) vun. Pro fin si un. I realy hope the tech tree will follow soon. ( hopefully, cruisers and destroyers, since we had a bunch of both during ww2) and maybe the us cannon class escort destroyers. ( we had 6 of them) and the brittish n class destroyers. ( I discovered so far we had 2) both classes were built during and served in ww2 and transferred to the royal dutch navy after ww2. And maybe wg can get their hands on the blue prints of the dutch bb,s that where never build, and maybe they can design the Macv ( merchant aircraft vessels from la carona a sub company from shell wich is dutch) and of course the cv karel doorman, I think it was cv71. Karel doorman,s famous last radio message, I attack follow me! In dutch, ik val aan volg mij! Pronounced best ik fall aan volug my. I bought the campeigh since it's a dutch ship and so far a stand-alone premium. And I'm dutch, haha. My advice play defensive, don't rush in, with de zeven provincièn. It's not designed to attack. This class was pretty much designed for support and anti-submarine warfare. Just like the friesland. Although the aa on both is insane.

How does the AA compare to Rochester with all its damage available at max range?

I wouldn't mind a german interpretation of this ship, much like the ZF6. Although, to be fair, the last thing we need is another Weimar.

I kinda have a hard time with this one, air strikes surely takes a bit to get accustomed to, and dpm is not great, but concealment and AA are pretty nice nonetheless Also glad to have a real ship with the history to back it up, wich is not the case of the Dutch line wich i guess will come soon

On PC version, I can say the AA is good comparable to Minotaur and Neptune (PC version don't have Def AA by default). But since the introduction of submarine, this ship got her karma😆

I enjoy this ship very much. 8.1km AA on mine. 8.8km concealment. Love setting up those no fly zones.

i recommend using the ap a lot more on the Lüshun because the HE alpha is abysmal on that Zf6 for example he was overangled enough where your ap would pen and you probably noticed he was using ap on you too so thats one thing and also you aimed a bit high on repub imo but im not gonna start critiquing a good player.

I absolutely love that Tactic still does all the historical context for these ships, even for ships that never existed. It would have been easy for him to say, "this was never actually built, or even really designed, so let's just move on to the gameplay." Instead, we get a whole explainer on the Korean War and the beginnings of the PLAN. Once again, bravo!

What I hate about the Lushun is its abysmal AA defense. A carrier can just fly around you to keep you spotted as everyone kills you and your AA is so bad that 30 seconds latee you haven't even killed half of the airplanes. That is the primary reason I do not like playing this ship. I'd rather play the Halland or Dalarna, because the AA Defensive Fire consumable + Halland/Dalarna's AA defense actually forces carriers to lose all aircraft within 15 seconds if they choose to fly around you and spot you.

Despite the fact you have Legends videos several months old this is the 1st one of your videos I've come across. With that said, I super enjoyed the history part of the video. I'm definitely a slight ship nerd so Info like that is always welcome. The way you do your stats and recommendations are absolutely spot on. You got yourself a new sub and I hope to see more Legends content in the future

It's surprising how much history there is behind this paper ship. Great job researching it. I use the torp build because the commander skills barely effect the guns enough to make it worth it. I'm also really disappointed in how often the turrets in this ship get knocked out. I even had one destroyed once so I was putting around with only 1 turret. Felt super useless, lol.

I find it very funny, on 2 separate matches, sailing in my shimakaze, I’m face to face with 1 Lushun. At first detectability of both of us, Lushun players temporarily use their guns on me and smoke up, but true to destroyer fashion and out of habit, they follow up their attacks with a full splash of torpedoes in my direction. Believing their torpedoes will sink me, they seem to forget that they’re sailing in a Chinese destroyer with deep water torpedoes. Regardless, they continue to dunk torps my way. Lol

I’ve only played a few games so far but I enjoy this thing. Feels like a Friesland with torpedos. That’s the way I play it. Also cool to stealth sonar people. I feel like people keep waiting for the next Mainz but it’s not coming. Campaign ships are probably going to be just about average now. They went on a streak and released like 6 OP ships they had to try to fix later. Sadly I missed most of them cause I was taking a break playing other things
