Glad you enjoyed it! I was also a fan of the first one, but my friends and i were so hapless that we could never really make good progress. 🙃 We definitely were more danger to ourselves than the bugs, usually.

@@tacticangel I made a last-second decision not to buy the game because of the nProtect GameGuard. I don't want to install yet another rootkit on my PC for unknown companies to have a backdoor in my computer. Thanks for the review, though.
Will buy because of your comments about the game, and it seems awesome! I was a teenager when the movie Starship Troopers came out and all the irony flew way over my head. I of course know more now and this game seems to fulfill all my alien killing dreams!
Hope you love the game as much as I do. I didn't feature the automatons very much at all, but I know there are some people I have played with who think they are even more fun. As for me, I can't decide. 😎

The book is pretty great. The movie is.definitely a guilty pleasure. Helldivers is just fun either way.

I hope I can find time to play it. I hope it doesn’t meet the same fate as Evolve (2015).
I think part of the problem with Evolve was that the asymmetrical nature of the PvP gameplay from my memory. With Helldivers being PvE and a little more varied in the chaos, I think it will definitely outlast that game, particularly if the old Helldivers is any indication.

@@tacticangel I see there is a petition online to bring it to Xbox that is blowing up, so I guess there's a little bit of hope there. Game looks really fun and clever.

You haven’t played either game, have you.
I've never played ODST. I think the only Halo game I played any of was the first one. In any case, my guess is the ODST and Spartan stuff can be traced backwards through Doom eventually to Heinlein, too, so I wouldn't be surprised if there were some similarities.
