As with most T8s for me, it suffers from “why would I bottom tier when I could just take out a LT ship that I’ll probably have a better time in?!” At least it does not have a LT Italian BB to take out instead, so it’s nice to have two higher tier Italian BB alternatives until then at least. 😂
Great review as always! Cheers 🥂
Yeah I guess they will do for now. Marco I trust for more typical shenanigans, and even that seems like a limited time offer though.
Cheers as always, Bronner. 🍺
Great review as always, my good sir! Not hyped about Verdi…looking forward to seeing your Repulse review…🎉
I am working my way down, so hope to get some progress in on Congress this week. I did look at Repulse's stats and armor... looks... interesting or perhaps challenging?
Great Review as always, really looking forward to HMS Repulse
I should get to it, perhaps in two parts (history and review, since there's a lot of it). I'd expect to see Congress first, though.
The ship is “fine”. That’s my best description. I prefer fun. Lots of it 🎉😂
Though I have some hope for this ship in alternative game modes, the best things people seem to say about it is "fine" or "okay." I also prefer fun. Bit of a letdown.
Ty for the review tactic
My pleasure. Thanks for the support!
Cheers for the video. An interesting grab bag of a BB
Thanks, Sir Diealot! I guess interesting works too.
Is imagine you had alota fun making this one, you had me cracking up like 1/2 the vid
Half of that is a sense of exasperation coming through, I think, but I do like them to be entertaining. Frankly, sometimes a bit of exasperation helps, there. 😎
I dont usually comment on videos, and I understand that everyone may have differing experiences with ships in the game, but I can't help but disagree. If you build for a more range/accuracy focused build with Iachino, it's actually a very comfortable ship to play. Guns may not have the highest alpha, but in my experience, they tend to hit what I'm shooting at and deal more than acceptable damage. Armor when angled properly is quite strong, but as someone said below, the broadside is what it is. Good review as usual though.
That's cook, and to be fair, I do think I said it would work better with Iachino. The gameplay at the end isn't really how I would endorse a ship to be played so much as the game I played that checks the most boxes. Glad you enjoyed it though!👍
Dies Irae... one of the most referenced/copied piece of classical music of all time... kinda like these late model Italian BB's, which feel like just larger and larger copies of the previous model (though the USN and the Germans fall into that trap too, tbh...)
Feel like this one though is "the other side of the coin" when compared to Marco Polo. Whereas Polo leans more into being a traditional sniper (if you will), this has the potential to be more of brawler... at least thats my initial impression.
Interesting take. I tend to think the smoke allows for an easier transition to close combat. Granted, it allows almost every maneuver easier, including the gamer turn away from the enemy. The radar and sonar on Verdi do help you push but you'll get more out of your heals I'd you don't take tons of damage all at once so so maybe you hang back. I guess it could go either way.
Good video 👍
Thanks 👍 glad you liked it
I kinda enjoy the ole Salsa Verdi! Decent all arounder. Ggs Tactic
Yeah... maybe decent, but not exciting!
She's okay, guns hit , a smooth rudder shift. It surprised me she's missing the rolling smoke.
I was really hoping for that being an option. Ohh well...
Hi..
If you see Tbull can you tell him that I'm sorry I missed his stream, and, and I don't know if he is done!? But if you see him can you tell I miss him, and I want him back!😢
Will do. From his community post, and everything else, I think he's taking a break from making content and will probably start making Starfield content. I'm not sure about this game though.
Nice kazoo version at the end. As always a pleasure, but your sure your not Australian? Your humour is.
Pretty sure, mate. Glad someone noticed that part. I.had to order a kazoo to make that. 😄
Thanks for the review. Seems underwhelming, but I paid for that campaign. Might as well try her out then let her sit in port.
She's definitely going to work in certain contexts, but underwhelming is more or less where I am at with the ship. Hope you have better luck, and as always, thanks for the support!
We need more clown car shenanigans 🎉
Totally 100% always true for all time.
It seems like the Verdi hasn't exactly overly impressed anyone but it's not being described as a bad ship either, so I'm concluding that it's simply not terribly exciting to play.
Here's the thing I see about the Verdi...
It's what I would call a competent battleship. It's well armored, it has 16-inch guns which is not common for the Italians ('cept for the Marco Polo if one has that ship) and the main gun accuracy from my own experience is good, which is nice.
I think the issue with the Verdi for many players out there (and some reviewers) is that it's not exciting or unique enough to stand out...it's missing an exclamation point though the radar consumable, at least to me, is not a detriment at all, I just think that utility is not what most either envisioned, expected or wanted, but it's also easy by habit to get stuck into a box of thinking and pre-expectations instead of going outside of the box which I think Verdi is trying to do with that consumable.
WoW Legends has over 400 ships, if I'm correct. How much more "wow" can WoW Legends still inject after that many ships? That's a fair question to ask in 2023.
The more ships one creates, the harder it will become to design ships that provide a fresh & exciting interaction for the dedicated gamer, let alone meeting those diverse expectations.
It's not unreasonable to consider that Wargaming may have hit its ceiling regarding that dynamic. Perhaps all that is left is inserting ships into each nation that can address a depth issue regarding the roster & class (both the Soviet Union & Italy. for example, currently have the smallest battleship rosters of the Big 7, with neither nation having a premium Tier V battleship, neither nation has a Legendary tier battleship, and Italy is the only nation of the Big 7 without a premium Tier 6 battleship. So they both have small roster sizes which equals a lack of variety a bit)
Though I'm not suggesting that quantity of battleships should eclipse quality; the fact remains, from my perspective, that larger ship rosters often generate greater intrigue.
To me, the Verdi is a capable competent battleship that can last in match for 15 minutes. It's does a little bit of everything well. I think of it as an NFL running back that can run, catch and block well enough to help his team win. He may not be THAT player that competes for the League MVP, but he's good enough to more than hold his own in a game, and can make enough plays to help win a game on any given Sunday.
But that's just me.
Wow, that's a lot of thoughts. I'll get the points out of the way that I don't agree with.
I think that she's average in the protection game. You can make different allowances for size of ship, size of superstructure, and weird nooks and crannies on the model that create shot traps which will complicate a truly objective comparison, but most of the ship's surfaces are average or below average. The slightly spaced armor will help, but the thin turtleback will probably not do too much.
Where I'd definitely agree is there are well over 400 ships at this point (I think I have 452, which is close to but not quite all of them), so it's possible that there's only so many rabbits that can come out of a hat before it's just another rabbit, no matter how magically it was conjured. Really, some of that may be just me, you're right. I've seen just about all the rabbits, and honestly I was a bit too excited about this one. It's disappointing to come in at "decent" if you were "hyped" to begin with.
I will say I do make an allowance for the usefulness of radar, even in this review where I whiff dramatically. 🙃 Oh well, it serves at least two purposes. This one is definitely going to come out of port for the special game modes.
What is also fun, though, and another reason I appreciate your comment is that I rarely get to watch too many other content creator's videos, so you've given me a bit of a glimpse into some things I have not had time to really watch myself. Part of that is intentional, because I want my opinions to be my own for the review, but it sounds like we were all kind of in the same boat.
Very well written. I was wondering about this ship im getting close to finishing the battle pass this gave me a good idea about whats to come
@@Mahmoud-mk9rw
Did you get the Verdi? If so, how's it working for ya?
@@moonytheloony6516 yea its worked pretty good for me. Its not a bad ship at all and you dont feel outmatched in anything Tier8 and when they put you in legendary matches it feels like it can somewhat hold its own. Its not a bad ship at all.
@@Mahmoud-mk9rw
I agree.
Uhhhhh.... you NEVER play like that guy did in the Malborough! 😅
Maybe once, but it probably left an impression. 😄
I've played the Verdi since it came out on Legends, absolutely disagree with the armor. In practice and bow-in shes an unrivaled beast, only the Yamato's 18 inch guns can overmatch and everyone else simple bounce off it's bow.
Broadside is broadside, there isnt a single BB that can take broadside hits in T8.
Guns on a dispersion build are probably the best in the entire Italian line.
Tried it building her as a brawler, and failed miserably. Then I switched to a more traditional sniper build and she does her job quite well. I was wondering tough if is worth it, matter of fact Lepanto has a 75000 ho pool, and the additional gun on the turrets could fill the gap for the caliber, maybe. Has anyone compared them already?

I have both ships and concluded that the Verdi seems to be more accurate with its main guns in my opinion. It's also nice to have this performance out 406's instead of the usual 380's.
The caveat is that the Veneto has better secondary range than the Verdi for some odd reason.
